  • I absolutely hate my sister!?

She's a nasty 15 year old ***** who has the worst and most entitled attitude I've ever seen. She refuses to do chores, I end up doing all of them for her simply because it drives me nuts not having them done, she treats me and my brothers like ****. She acts and dresses like a whore, has my parents piss all of their money away on her...ugh I hate her so much! Please give me some advice on how to deal with her, I cannot take it anymore!

  • Should we listen to my parents regarding marriage?

My boyfriend and I have been together for a year now, and in all honesty I've never been happier. We're still yet to have our first fight or argument, which I find odd but we just treat each other exceedingly well and have nothing to fight about I guess. I genuinely love this man, and I'd still like to wait another year before marrying, but we're both planning on it at this point. The one and only issue is my parents. Since I was 15 years old, they've had an unhealthy level of control over me and every aspect in my life. My therapist tells me that their behavior towards me is borderline abuse, considering how limited I am in all decisions. Unfortunately, it's their house their rules. I still live at home since I'm in school, and I'm ready to die. They're making me and my boyfriend as well as his family crazy. His family is wonderful on every level, there's not a single member I don't get along with, and we all just love each other. They want us to get married soon, but don't know what to do about my parents.

Just the other day my dad told me that I'd be a naive and stupid idiot to marry him, seeing as how he's my first serious relationship. My mom is just malicious towards him, telling us both that we'll never be happy, we'll be poor with his career choice, he'll be abusive, yadyadyada. I know things will never be absolutely perfect, but he treats me like a million bucks and I can't imagine life with anyone else. How do we deal with my over controlling parents?

  • Chemistry help please? I'm desperate?

I have a midterm tomorrow and my teacher gave us 100 practice problems to help prepare us. I'm completely stumped on a few of these and just need a basic walk through of how to solve and how to get the answer. Thank you so much!

    1) A sample of an ideal gas at 1.00 atm and a volume of 1.31 L was placed in a weighted balloon and dropped into the ocean. As the sample descended, the water pressure compressed the balloon and reduced its volume. When the pressure had increased to 60.0 atm, what was the volume of the sample? Assume that the temperature was held constant.

    2) An ideal gas is allowed to expand from 5.20 L to 18.2 L at constant temperature. By what factor does the volume increase?

    3) If the intial pressure was 105 atm, what is the final pressure?

    4) An ideal gas in a sealed container has an initial volume of 2.30 L. At constant pressure, it is cooled to 25.00 °C where its final volume is 1.75 L. What was the initial temperature?

    5) A hot air balloon is filled with 1.51 × 106 L of an ideal gas on a cool morning (11 °C). The air is heated to 131 °C. What is the volume of the air in the balloon after it is heated? Assume that none of the gas escapes from the balloon.

    6) A sample of an ideal gas has a volume of 2.31 L at 286 K and 1.10 atm. Calculate the pressure when the volume is 1.31 L and the temperature is 303 K.

    7) A sample of an ideal gas has a volume of 3.20 L at 12.00 °C and 1.50 atm. What is the volume of the gas at 24.80 °C and 0.991 atm?

  • Why does my boyfriend act this way when he's upset?

First of all, he's not at all upset with me. Growing up, his dad was fairly abusive and would verbally and physically attack him pretty frequently. He's much closer with his dad now, but last night while he was at my house, his dad called him and screamed at him for 10 minutes about what a stupid dumbass he was, and how his behavior was absolutely pathetic and how he was ashamed of him as a son, yadyadyada, just being a real jerk to him. All because my boyfriend had a $50 late fee on a textbook for school, which he had already paid for anyways. His dad had gone through his mail while he was out with me, and saw the late fee. First of all, he has no business going through his mail, he is 21 and can handle it himself. But anyways, after his dad hung up he just became super quiet and teary eyed. It broke my heart seeing it, and I couldn't get him to talk. He left soon after, and called me later telling me not to take it personally if he ignored me for the next couple of days. He said he was "shutting down" which I've never heard him say before. His mom told me that to cope with the abuse as a child, he would just ball up and tune everything out. Is that what he's doing now? I feel awful and want to help him out but I feel like he's not letting me. His dad isn't a monster, he too had an abusive background, so I can see that playing a role in the way he treats his kids. He's usually super sweet and thoughtful, but when he's mad he'll take it out on anyone.

I have a midterm on Monday and I don't feel prepared in the slightest, especially with one of the topics we're learning. He has about 100 sample questions on his website but I'm still completely lost. If anyone would be willing to do a few and walk me through them, I would be EXCEEDINGLY thankful! Thank you!

    12) How many moles of N are in 0.171 g of N2O?

    13) What is the mass (in grams) of 9.32 × 1024 molecules of methanol (CH3OH)?

    14) Write the balanced chemical equation for the following reaction. Phases are optional. Solid calcium chlorate decomposes to form solid calcium chloride and oxygen gas.

15)The reaction of zinc metal and hydrochloric acid produces hydrogen gas and zinc chloride.

  • Would this be considered sexual harassment?

Last night I was in charge of closing the cashier after all of my coworkers had clocked out. It was almost midnight by this point, and my manager was counting cash with me. 3 of my male coworkers approached my manager and started cracking some jokes with her. At some point, I don't remember how it even came up, but my MANAGER started encouraging the boys to say "vagina" because of how "liberating it is". So they all proceed to repetitively saying it, one of them even jokingly caressing her as he said it. I was extremely uncomfortable, especially after being sexually harassed on multiple occasions in the past. I wanted to up and leave, but I chose to just suck it up and not say anything. I told my parents and both were absolutely shocked, I quit my job and messaged the manager about her lack of respect, professionalism, and class and she completely acknowledged her inappropriate behavior. That wasn't the only reason I chose to quit, but last night's events were the final straw for me. Would this be considered sexual harassment? I know it wasn't directed to me, but they knew that I could hear them and had zero consideration for using that sexually explicit language in front of me.

  • How do I model/pose without feeling and looking awkward and uncomfortable?

I have a promo photoshoot today for a pageant I'll be competing in, and I absolutely hate having my pictures taken! I just feel like I look so awkward and like I don't know what I'm doing. Even with selfies I struggle! Today's photoshoot with also include video footage of me, so that raises the bar substantially. My videos and photos will be shown to a live audience of 600 and I'd rather I not look like an absolute dolt. Haha please someone give me some advice! I have the shoot in a couple hours so I need as much preparation as possible. I'm pretty good at posing in a mirror, but I'm not familiar enough with my facial expressions to know what does and doesn't look good without the help of a mirror. Thanks!

  • I absolutely hate my mother!?

She and I have had a rocky relationship for the past 7 years, upon me finding out about her emotional affair with a man I absolutely despised. I was only 12 at the time of it happening and she basically swore me to secrecy, saying that if I ever snitched it would be my fault she and my dad divorced. Eventually all came out, they're still married (unfortunately) and she's done absolutely nothing to build back trust with me. She is a compulsive liar, and she denies ever having lied in her life, she refuses to admit when she's wrong, it's always someone else's fault or she'll just justify her actions in any possible way she can.

Of all my sibling I'm the one who's treated the poorest. I was suicidal at age 12 because of her pitiful decisions, and my bad habits of cutting and suicidal thoughts have stuck with me my entire life. The worst part is that she makes fun of me for my depression. She'll follow me around, making cutting motions on her arms saying things like "I'm gonna kill myself, I'm gonna kill myself!" It's just sick and cruel, especially with her being the source of my depression. I truly hate her and can't wait to be away from her. She was gone for an entire week this past month and never have I been a happier person. I didn't fight with a single person, I didn't cry myself to sleep one single night, I didn't have any suicidal thoughts or even the temptation of cutting. But now that she's home everything's back the the way it was. Please give me advice, I hate her!

  • What does my dad have against my boyfriend?

First off, I'm 18 and my boyfriend is 21. We've now been together for 8 almost 9 months. I absolutely adore him as well as his family, and his parents and extended family are already planning on us marrying in a few years. His parents are finishing their basement so we have a place to live while we get on our feet whilst finishing our schooling.

The only issue I see there being are my parents, specifically my dad. Since I was a kid he's encouraged me to date around and not settle too quickly. Well I have dated around before meeting my boyfriend, not steadily but I've definitely had a chance to see what else is out there. My boyfriend (let's call him Mark) has treated me like a queen since day one. He has never treated me like an object or toy in any way, in fact he refuses to make out on most occasions because he's worried about damaging me spiritually (yes we are both religious ha ha) but he's willing to drive 35 minutes both ways just in order to see me since I don't have a car of my own just yet. He is constantly praising me and encouraging me to be my best self, he doesn't ever think less of me if I'm a few pounds heavier than usual, or if I don't have my hair and makeup done. He just constantly reminds me that he loves me for me, not the clothes or makeup I wear. We both communicate exceptionally well, he's extremely respectful of my parents rules such as curfew, no laying down together, no going into bedrooms etc.

I know without a shadow of a doubt that he loves me.

  • Boyfriend in college?

My current boyfriend and I have now been together for 8 months and I absolutely love him with all my heart. He and I will both be returning to college this month and I'm really stressed about how we'll be able to maintain a strong and sturdy relationship while we're swamped with studies and what not. I am working towards a nursing degree so needless to say I'll be pretty booked with my studies and school work. We've both discussed marriage and see it as a possibility but not for another year or two. Is it difficult getting married while in college? I'll be in school for another good 4-6 years but I can't see us waiting that long to wait for marriage. What are the pros and cons of marrying while still in school, and from personal experience would anyone suggest it? Thank you!

  • I hate my mom?

The title says it all. I'm 18 and I've never been in a worse place in my life. She and I fight constantly and usually over nothing. We began having issues 7 years ago when I found out about an emotional affair which was taking place between her and a man I'd hated from the get-go. I have 4 other siblings and of all of them I'm the only one who ever found out about the affair. But since then I feel like my knowledge of that has put a target on my back. If I mom has an issue at work or with a sibling, she immediately comes to take it out on me. She tells me it's largely because I've always been her biggest "problem child" or I'm just a "little piece of ****". And I always retaliate because I am damn sick and tired of being her personal punching bag.

I started cutting when I was 12 years old and attempted suicide once through an overdose. I was 13 at the time and really had no clue what I was doing, I ended up with a splitting migraine, abdominal pain and vomited for the remainder of the night. She doesn't even know that :/ As soon as she found out about my history with self harm she's used it against me. She tells everyone that I'm emotionally unstable and do it for attention and praise. Some of the most hurtful times have been when she's made deliberate fun of me for it. She followed me around making cutting motions on her arms saying "I'm gonna kill myself, I'm gonna kill myself!"

When I told my dad about it he confronted her but she denied ever saying or doing it.

  • Do my parents have the right to do this?

I'm 18 and my boyfriend is 21. We've been dating for the past 5 almost 6 months and things have been going incredibly well. My parents however, are concerned that he and I are getting too serious and are thinking about 'tying the know" soon. I am young and still very inexperienced, there is no way that either one of us could support one another financially at this rate, and we're just not ready for that. But because of their fears, they're threatening to call him and his parents in for a meeting this sunday and are going to tell him that he needs to take a break from me and start seeing other girls. I'm an adult, and in my opinion they have no right to do this. I'm not an idiot and I wouldn't jump into anything this soon. Yes this is a relationship I can see going for a long time, yet we've already discussed marriage and in all honesty it's a very definite possibility for us at some point, but not until the both of us have our educations squared away.

I just feel like my parents are being too intrusive and crossing lines that they have no business crossing. Am I just overreacting or are they out of line with this one? Thanks.

  • How to help/comfort my boyfriend?

He and I have now been together for about 5.5 months and lately he's just been incredibly down. He is still living at home just until he's through with college and his family is just falling apart. He loves each family member so much and wants them to be happy and get along, but his dad is so abusive to them, verbally, emotionally, mentally, and physically sometimes, claiming he hates his kids. It breaks my boyfriends heart to see this because he loves his dad so much and has been trying for years to change him.

Last night he just had a full on meltdown and cried in my lap for a whole hour, it just near broke my heart because I felt so helpless and I don't know what I can do to help the situation. I know he's fed up at this point and he's just feeling so discouraged. How can I really offer him support and what is the best advice I can give him?

  • Is he sick of me?

My current boyfriend and I have now been together for approximately 5 months. Thus far, things have been going exceedingly well and I'm really happy with everything. My one and only concern I've had lately is that he's growing bored of me. We literally used to talk all day every day (I'm not kidding, we had over 250,000 text messages exchanged in under a month. And he would call all the time to check up on me and see how things were going. I know that sounds childish, but we just had so much to learn about each other so we never let up. Now he and I will exchange about an average of 30 ish texts a day, he'll call me once or twice if I'm lucky, and he just doesn't have much to say. Now this isn't always true, some days are definitely better than others, but that's just what I've observed.

Is this normal in a relationship? Why are things winding down and is it because he's growing tired of me? He is always so excited and adamant about spending time with me, he lives 30 minutes away and will drive to and fro 1-3 times a week to see me. (I can't drive currently so it's up to him on that one). He's already been talking marriage with me, and I really do love him but I'm just worried! Probably just being paranoid but I'd appreciate some reassurance. Thanks!

  • How to stay happy when I'm away from him?

So here's a little background informaytion on me. I've suffered from depression and anxiety from the age of 12. I'm 19 now and things only started to really improve this past December upon meeting my current boyfriend. We officially became a couple on Dec. 30th and I can honestly say that I've never been quite this happy in life. I've been in multiple relationships and I still found myself struggling with depression in all of them. This is the first time in my life that I feel almost entirely void of it. He just makes me feel amazing about every aspect of myself, even my biggest insecurities and flaws. He never fails to remind me how much he loves and cares for me, and constantly reminds me that he'll help me in any way, shape, and form if he can. The difference between him and other guys is that his actions all reflect his words, and my life has been tremendously blessed because of this!

My only issue is that I am only able to see him 1-3 times a week at most, due to the distance we live apart. When I'm with him I'm happy as a clam and nothing can drag me down, but once I'm on my own and the week starts back up I just find myself getting down, feeling a lot more irritable, sad, and just really missing him. I know it makes me sound needy, but I really just don't think I can help myself. He struggles with the same thing (not depression wise) but will definitely find himself feeling down throughout the week. Is this at all normal? How can I be happy even when he's not around?

  • Will we get married?

My boyfriend and I have now been together for just over 5 months. We've both had our fair share of past relationships and are to the point where if we're dating, we're dating for marriage not for fun. He tells me all the time how much he loves me and I honestly believe him because he shows it through his actions. I can't image losing him or being with anyone else and we've already discussed marriage. Our families are already very close, I love every last individual in his. I know it's still early, and ideally I'd prefer to date someone for a minimum of a year before even contemplating the idea of it, but I just feel very good about this one. How do I keep things headed in the direction they are?
