  • PS3 won't let me load my saves?

    I had a problem with my PS3 recently where it wouldn't take me to the menu, but rather it would only display the background wave if anything at all; and I had to access Safe Mode to Restore File Settings in order to fix it.

    Now my PS3 won't allow me to play my games. Says my saved data belongs to another user and I can't use it. Or games like Fallout: New Vegas let me load but display a warning saying that I won't be able to save or unlock trophies because I'm using someone else's saved data.

    Now, after I thought I fixed my console, upon turning it on for the first time, I noticed all profiles had an asterisk (*) added as a prefix for all the profiles' names.

    I tried correcting my profile name by simply deleting the asterisk, but that didn't work.

    Any idea how to fix this?
