Should I contact her?
I was married for six years. I wasn't faithful to my marriage because of my own weakness. Circumstances dictated that I tell her of my infidelity, and that I do so over the phone. This wasn't my first choice, but it was necessary for her recovery. As you might imagine, she surprised me with divorce papers. I was to blame for my failed marriage, and I accept that. She used legal manuvering to ensure that I wouldn't challenge our divorce, but that was more of her family's idea than her own. That was two years ago. We kept in contact off and on during the first year or so. I did not keep her number, I just allowed her to call me when she wanted. She called me different times and told me she couldn't talk to me anymore. The last time she did so it seems like she meant. I've not been able to move on because I feel bound to her still. I made bad choices. I'm not here to hear how horrible people think I've been. I live with myself and my choices as best I can, and I try to make better choices today. Every makes bad choices at times and no one is better or worse than anyone else on here. What I want to know is whether I ought to try to talk to her about this feeling. Do you believe we could reconcile, or would the attempt to find out be unfair to her?

Plagiarization of our Nation
by Shelby Dockery
Here's to you ridiculous cheater
Abuser of the information superhighway
Defamer of all things of literary value
You go to great lengths to do nothing
Standing on the backs of others
And smiling shamelessly
Where another man might hunker down
And face the task before him
Ink pen at the ready
You reach out to others
Depend on the kindness of strangers
And the pens of unknown men
There was a time before your wicked web became world-wide
When a teacher wouldn't have to worry
About forgers and fakers of other states and nations
Selling their wares to those that won't even try
And just as bad
You haven't even weaved this web
Even that was built for you
You produce nothing
1 AnswerPoetry1 decade agoDoes anyone else see how frightening our government has become?
Look past the AIG bonuses and the dynamic rhetorical ability of our President. There's something wrong with our country and it needs our attention if it's to be fixed. Our laws should not be rescinded at a record pace and without due consideration. Our government should not be involved in private industry. We shouldn't smile and "obey" when our President endeavors to promote the murder of innocents with his mighty pen while speaking of science and religion as though the two were mutually exclusive. Belief in God does not keep one from studying science. Without religion there is no moral compass by which to guide science. That's the stuff that Nazi Germany was made of. Our government shouldn't even consider taxing some group 90% of any money as a reaction. Not everything ought to be taxed either. We cannot establish world peace by sending videos to parts of the world that have known fighting and jealous hatred for centuries. Is anyone else as disturbed about this as I am?
6 AnswersGovernment1 decade agoIs it offensive to point out that the majority of African slaves were sold by African natives?
Reading sports history as I do, I came across a point of interest in the events surrounding the Ali vs. Foreman match in Zaire, the "Rumble in the Jungle." There were promotional posters bearing the slogan "From the Slave Ship to the Championship." This slogan insulted the native Zairians, who made great profit selling slaves. Don king was forced to pull the posters as a result. Does this history offend African-Americans?
