I have managed a large exotic bird aviary for 11 years. We have over 2000 pairs of different exotic breeds, plus Quakers and Cockatiels. I feed hundreds of babies every day in breeding season. Before I worked here I did 2 years of undergraduate work and 3 years of veterinarian medicine at the Univ. of GA. I did not finish college due to a serious personal problem that required me to be home for a long time. In May I finally received my degree in veterinary medicine and am currently doing a residency at Busch Garden Zoo. (and my other job) I help treat every animal they have. Later I will take testing and hopefully be accepted by the AAV (Association of Avian Vets). I also have a degree in bird physcology and have studied aviculture for about 20 years. Now that I am a vet, I have finally achieved another one of my dreams. I am owned by a Blue and Gold macaw, a Scarlet macaw, an Umbrella Cockatoo, and an African Grey. In the past I have raised Greys and Love birds.
