Need help re-caging my brain on how to calculate basic probability. Google links sucked.

Scenario in question: Three teammates are taking a test. Each has an 80% chance of passing said test. The whole team passes if two of them pass. What is the % chance of them passing?

I calculated it as follows, but feel like this answer is so covered in mental cobwebs that I need insecticide and and a shower:

4/5 chance of passing (Operator A) x 4/5 (Operator B) x 4/5 (Operator C) = 64/125 = 51.2% chance of all three passing.

4/5 x 4/5 = 16/25 = 64% chance of second two passing if first one failed...but how to calculate for the first dude's chances, and thus the overall problem? Throw in another 1/5 and get 16/125 for failure %, and gives me 87.2% success rate? That passes the sniff test...but I'm shaky on the math.

My local bike shop is run by a cadre of very experienced guys. They sized me (using a ton of professional measurements, computers, etc.) for a bike ($1100) that I ended up buying used on Craigslist ($700), so I made sure to go to them when I got it fit to me and bought accessories.

The shop's owner spent 3 hours with me today, during a busy early-spring day where his shop was slammed. He installed aero bars (which I recieved as a gift), installed a seat (purchased from him), and adjusted every damn piece of the bike to my body. We spent 45 minutes on the seats alone, and I tried three different ones on the machine in his shop, and on the roads outside.. He taught me a lot, and really took his time to get it right. I ended up paying him for fitting the bike ($150), a seat ($115), and the shorts ($60).

When I got home, my wife did some comparison shopping for the seat. She found it for $80, shipped. She said I should return it and buy the cheaper on online. I have an ethical problem with doing this, as I received a service from the shop (knowledge, testing, guidance, etc.)

What do you think? What are the ethics of going to a professional store for knowledge on a product, but buying the product elsewhere?

I'm graduating from MCIWS (USMC's swim instructor school) this Friday, and I just realized I have no idea what Army/Air Force does for swim quals. Someone please clue me in?

What do y'all use to track your golf stats? I've played around with several online stats trackers, but can't find one that will accept 9-hole rounds as well as 18 holes. I'm damn close to just making one in Access.

Politics is divisive, and military issues are even more so. It's to be expected that people are going to post hateful, angry, inflammatory questions, and even questions that are really just rants in the guise of a question.

But that's what moderators are for, right? That's what "Report Abuse" is for, right? Unfortunately, the system is not working. We just had a board leader (SFC_Ollie) quit because his questionable post was removed, while dozens of flagrant violations go un-noticed every hour.

Who is supposed to be responding to our abuse reports? Why are they not doing so? Is there any way to delegate such authority to members of our community like Mrs. JVB, Perro Del Lava, etc.?

Or is there grey area between 'victory' and 'defeat?'

What constitutes 'victory'?

Wife is just getting into golf. Natural athlete...1st round ever, she shot 114. Looking to get her a set of clubs that she won't outgrow too soon, but won't break the bank either. Can y'all recommend a set for us?
