I'm not perfect but parts of me are pretty awesome!

  • Are there any breastfeeding tips I haven't tried?

Baby stopped nursing when she was about 2 months old (as soon as I returned to work). I try to pump for 20 minutes every 3 hours. I usually get about 2oz in each session. Baby eats 3oz-4oz every 4 hours. I can't keep up!

Although I was told I was not "at-risk" for having a low milk supply, I think I always did. Baby was always fussy when nursing and was underweight until we started supplementing (after I returned to work).

I am renting the hospital grade "Symphony" pump. I've tried Fenugreek, Alfalfa, Motherlove, Blessed Thistle, and the Mother's Milk Tea. I did not see any difference in milk supply but now if I don’t take it, I can’t even let down.

At the advice of a lactation consultant, I tried pumping every 2 hours instead of 3 (lasted about 1 week) and I just pumped less milk at each session. The overall total oz for the day did not increase.

I'm most concerned now because I'm starting to see a dip in the supply. I already wasn't producing enough and now at some sessions I get even less than 2oz.

Is there anything I have not tried yet? Am I doing something wrong?

  • Can my boss require me to use PTO to leave early if I'm a salaried employee?

I am a salaried employee and expected to work 50 hours per week. I do not get paid for overtime and do not receive a differential for the "extra hours". I asked if I could leave 2 hours early for the next 3 Saturdays and my boss told me to fill out a PTO request form and submit it for approval. I thought a benefit to being salaried is that you don't have to use PTO as long as you maintain at least 40 hours per week. Can they do that?

  • Do you have any creative ideas for a candy themed baby shower?

I'm planning a co-ed baby shower for my cousin and her husband and she loves the idea of a candy theme. They are from Miami so she loves all the bright flashy colors! I'm pretty sure that's why she picked that theme.

I figured I can give lollipops as party favors, make candy apples, and decorate wine bottles filled with candy for cute centerpieces, but that's about as creative as I'm getting right now. Do you have any cute ideas for food and drinks?

  • Why does my back make a popping sound when I do sit-ups?

I'm training for a personal fitness test that requires me to do several sit-ups in one minute. I noticed that on my way down (during the sit-up) my back makes a popping sound! It doesn't hurt but it's scaring the hell out of me. I'm so afraid that one day I'm going to wake up and not be able to move or something. Should I be concerned? Is it a matter of bad form or just tight muscles? How can I stop it?

  • What is it with boys and sneakers?!?

Every time we go shopping just to look around and hang out, my guy goes directly to the shoe stores: Nike, Champs, Foot Locker, or whatever local athletic shoe store is at the mall. Even if we go to a department store, he goes right to the athletic shoe section!

Even though I am not one of those girls who have 100 pairs of shoes, I can understand it. The styles, colors, heels vs. no heels, open toe vs. close toe, that all makes sense. But sneakers are sneakers! You can change the colors and maybe the style depending on the sport they are used for, but that's about it. He has like 100 pairs of sneakers that he doesn't even wear and they all look the same to me! I have got to know...what is the attraction. He is not a collector and he doesn't buy them on sale or anything. It's seriously obsessive. I know lots of guys like that and I just have to know why?

  • If child support payments are in arrears, does the receiver still get paid?

This may sound like a stupid question, but I've never really had to deal with anything like this so I figured I would ask someone who has!

If someone normally has child support payments garnished from their wages, but is now currently out of work, I'm assuming the child support payments go into arrears. Does the person who normally receives the payments still get paid? Is there like an account that the city pays it from that is replenished once the person returns to work? If not, what rights does the person who receives the payments have, given that they are relying on that money.

  • Is running outside that much different than running on a treadmill and how can I build endurance?

I'm away from home for a while (ie away from my treadmill) so in order to get some exercise in, I have started running outside. On the treadmill I usually can jog for about 20 minutes before I need to slow down, but outside it seems like after only 5 minutes my lungs feel like they are going to explode and I am completely burned out! Is it me or is there a difference and what can I do to increase my endurance?

  • How can I encourage members of a team to participate in events?

I'm the Chapter Advisor of my old sorority and it seems like the chapter is slowly starting to fall apart. There are like 8 (out of 40) members who are doing all of the work.

They are trying to put together and host social, fundraising and community service events but are receiving no help from the rest of the chapter. The 8 active students are starting to get frustrated and are now turning on each other. I strongly believe that this is a good organization and these students can learn a lot from each other about business as well as leadership.

How can I motivate more students to be involved and participate and take the burden off of the 8 officers that do most of the work?

  • Where I can I buy rare video games?

I'm looking for "Thrill Kill". It was never officially released (1998 on Playstation), but I heard there are still several copies available and it is relatively easy to find.

  • What the heck is an airbrush makeover?

I tried looking online and all I found was a link to Glamor shots and an article about Britney Spears. Nothing actually stating what it was though. Any clue?

  • When is the Puerto Rican fruit Canepa in season?

In puerto rico we had a canepa tree and I remember the fruit was sweetest in the summer, but I don't remember if it was early summer or late august. Does anyone know?

  • Is it a bad idea to list the seating arrangements in the back of the wedding program?

I would think that it would be a good idea so guest will know where to go once they are instructed to find their seats. Instead of huddling around a list on a board or searching through a sea of name cards.

But if this is an appropriate way to list seating arrangements...why haven't I ever seen it done that way?

  • What are some reasons for lack of intimacy?

He claims he's not cheating and there isn't really a reason to believe that he is. So...why in the world am I being ignored! For the last couple months we haven't really had a lot of intimacy.

This weekend...it was 8:30pm on a saturday night and he would rather go to sleep...on the couch...while watching sports highlights. Am I missing something?

  • Is it ok to ask guests to RSVP online for events related to the wedding?

I am aware that you do not ask people to RSVP for the wedding on-line. It's ok to give the option but you must sent the response cards with postage. That's the wedding invitation etiquette. Ok I get that.

So what about events that are related to the wedding like: the bridal shower, the rehearsal dinner, the bachelor/ette party. Is it ok to sent an evite and ask people to RSVP for those events on-line?

  • If a room is 2,000 square feet, how many feet is it?

I'm having a bad math day and I can't seem to figure it out. I think it is 40FT X 50FT. Does that sound right?

  • How do you do reception seating arrangements?

The whole assigned seating at a wedding thing seems very childish to me, but my venue/cater is requiring that we establish at least assigned table seating.

The tables are round and hold 8 people comfortably. Should I do 2 couple from his side and two couples from my side or should I keep the people who know each other together?

The "how to" websites suggest mixing it up, but I'm afraid it would make people uncomfortable. I hate eating in front of people I don't know!

  • How come I can be woken up at 5:30 in the morning and be WIDE awake but then can't get up for work at 7:30?

I have a roommate that gets home at 5:30 in the morning and he's loud. Why is it that he can wake me up and I'm so "awake" that it takes me an hour to fall back to sleep, but then when my alarm goes off at 7:30 (just two hours later) I can force myself to get out of bed! What's up with that?

  • Are the colors in your wedding invitations supposed to be the same as your wedding colors?

I wanted to make my own invitations...is that tacky? Money isn't the issue I just though it would be something fun that my fiance and I could do together. And it would add a personal touch to the whole invitation process. How much more personal can you get then handmade??

Anyway I was thinking that it would be cool to make all the invitations a little bit different (ie: paper color, and color of ribbon). But I'm not sure if I'm supposed to use my wedding colors to let guests know what to expect.

I don't really know the etiquette on invitations. I heard it's not something you want to skimp on cuz it sets the tone of the wedding for your guests. Should I just buy invitations and make handmade "save the date cards" instead (since they are less formal)?
