Google has lots of information on regular diodes, but I don't know where to look to identify a surface mount diode. Also, if you know where I can buy one I would appreciate the information!

I would like to lift my existing minibarn (12' long x10' wide) and put it on blocks.

It has 4x4 supports running front to back (24" on center), and they are sitting in the dirt. I want to get them up out of the dirt and put on new joists/beams going side to side, that would rest on cement blocks sitting on small cement pads. I want to use just three main supports on each side (Front, Middle @ 6', and Back @12' - so that they intersect the existing 4x4 floor joists). Can I get away with 6x6 supports or do I need 8x8's for a 6' span @ 10' long?

Do alarm panels have any type of patch panel I can set up? I am renovating a cabin, and ran lots of (4 wire) alarm wiring before putting up drywall. I ran continuity checks and labeled everything. Now, I have wires just hanging out of the wall in my laundry room, and I don't have any immediate plans to utilize the wiring. Is there any type of patch panel I should terminate the wires into? I thought about putting in several terminal blocks, but I was trying to find some kind of standard.
