I have no job but need an attorney. Can you get a court appointed attorney if you have a 401K ?

Does anyone have a name of an attorney that deals with appeals for unemployment benefits? We live in the SLC, Utah area. Please send information ASAP.

Broken Promises

They say we love you our little one,

Then I tell myself it’s so for I’m their son.

They say you are a special boy this day,

Then no one is there to wipe my tears away.

They say we’re coming right back don’t cry,

Then both disappear again and alone I sigh.

They say hurry go get your new bike,

Then I sit waiting on the curb I don’t like.

They say it’s your birthday… we’ll be there,

Then I’m away from them it’s so unfair.

They say they will stop their terrible fighting,

Then I hear their words of angry hate biting.

They say we won’t get high no more,

Then the police are called and at the door.

They say we will spend time alone together,

Then I wait for a call it seems like forever.

They say things are going to be different now,

Then other people realize I don’t know how.

They say they won't let me down one more time,

Then I begin to scream it’s just another crime.

They say one day there will be no pain inside,

Then all will know it has stripped my pride.

Please let me know if you like this poem or have any suggestions for a 16 year old.

This is a project for a 16 year old boy that has been through a lot. He's suppose to write a narrative/lyrical poem. Does any of this work or please give suggestions? Please help with the end. Is it okay to just leave it off the end and just tittle it Broken Promises?

They are only broken promises.

We have a small electrical business and have experienced several years in a row of a loss for tax purpose. Last year we had a theft of about $12,000 for tools etc. This year we had a few jobs that we never received payment and haven't been able to collect. Is there a limit of how many years you can claim a loss and carry it over on your personal return? My husband has a full time job besides this small business.

My sons wife filed 2009 tax return as head of household. She left their home on July 5th. Since that day they have shared custody of the three children. He payed her child support and alimony even though they hadn't filed yet. Now he just found out today that she filed her 2009 taxes as head of household and claimed all three children so she could get the earned income credit.He is wondering if this was legal for her to do this or can he have this appealed?

My son was an owner builder that built a home in Utah. He used my huband's contractors account to purchase doors and trim for the home. This never got pay due to the home taking longer to build and the construction loan money was depleted due to interest. This supplier filed a lien on the home. My son planned to get a loan for enough money to cover the lien but then my son couldn't get financing due to the economy and plummeting values. They foreclosed on the home or took it back from our son. Now, we see that someone has moved into this home and we're thinking it has been sold. We are wondering what happens to the lien from the supplier? Can the supplier still come after us personally for payment?

My husband was told he was going to be fired for poor performance issues or he could resign. Being fired would show on his form U5 and damage his chance for new employment in the financial industry. I found this on the Utah unemployment website. Does anyone know what this means?

(2) Leaving in Anticipation of Discharge.

If a claimant leaves work in anticipation of a possible discharge and if the reason for the discharge would not have been disqualifying, the separation is a quit. A claimant may not escape a disqualification under the discharge provisions, Subsection 35A-4-405(2)(a), by quitting to avoid a discharge that would result in a denial of benefits. In this circumstance the separation is considered a discharge

We have a grandson in our custody for the past 13 years. His father's policy has been the prmary insurance and ours the secondary. On March 1st his father's coverage ended due to job loss and they went to Cobra. On March 16th we lost our coverage due to job loss and will need to go to cobra as of the 17th. Can our grandson still have 2 plans when they're both Cobra? If not, does anyone know which plan he has to be on (father's or ours)?

We live in Utah and have a S-Corporation (small construction company). My husband formed this thinking that when he retired he could contract to build a few homes here and there. As to date this company has never done any work of any kind so there has been no income to report on tax returns. My husband has been working in a totally different job field but just recently found out that his job is coming to an end. This S-Corporation is active and I'm wondering if this will affect his unemployment benefits? Should we put it on in-active status?
