  • Could a nurse get in trouble for diagnosing this?

I am a former nurse aide and know basic medical procedures. We were told if a patient asked for information on their case to tell them to see the RN in charge. If a diagnosis wasn't made by a physician then even an RN wasn't allowed to make one.

A female family member went to get a breast lump diagnosed. Her doctor was concerned and ordered a mammogram and ultrasound. They did find the lump on the mammogram and ultrasound. A nurse came in to consult with us. She was a BSN RN with special accreditation in breast health. She whispered to me that she believes the mass is malignant. The doctor ordered a fine needle aspiration biopsy also. I have read online that mostly this type of biopsy is for tumors that the doctor believes that the lump is benign and possibly a cyst.

Should the RN have informed me that she believed it was cancerous before the biopsy? If i ever told anyone a diagnosis before a physician or RN I would have been fired on the spot. I do have other training as a medical assistant.

She has made myself and the family member very anxious.

    Thanks.

  • When is a cut deep enough to go to the hospital?

My sister cut herself pretty bad tonight. The cut is about 2 inches long and an eighth of an inch deep? I don't think it's long enough for a trip to the ER? Am I right? Thanks.

  • What would cause this type of computer problem?

I know a little about computers. I took a beginner's course to learn the basic mechanics of a computer. The past few days I noticed major problems with my new laptop that is only 6 months old. I pay all of my bills online with that laptop. I received a bill from one of my credit cards that said I hadn't paid it in over 60 days. I was really puzzled. I know I paid the bill online. I went through all of the steps and hit submit. Thought it was paid. Tuesday of last week, I paid another credit card online. It has a feature where I can authorize the payment on a particular day. I submitted the payment authorization. I always pay my credit cards way in advance in case I forget.

I went online today to pay my car loan. The car loan is through the same bank as the credit card. I found out that the payment was not made. I have never in 2 years of having the credit card been late. I immediately paid the bill. The bank waived the late fee.

I have been having problems with also typing. It takes 10 times as long for words to be typed on the laptop then this older laptop. I type 70 wpm. It also has been not connecting when it is started up at first. I open Firefox and then go to favorite pages and it says that it can not connect to the server. I then have to manually disconnect the wireless and reconnect the wireless signal.

Is the computer gone? I called an computer repair store and the IT guy said he thinks that a virus or trojan is eating up the processor and/or hard drive. I called my internet provider and he said there is a strong signal coming into the modem. I have this older HP laptop, my cell phone, and tv streamer which have no problems with connection.

    Is the computer gone? Thanks.

  • Does an employer have a right to deduct from paycheck for any reason?

Started new job but quit because of hideous working conditions. My second check I received a lot less than expected. The employer deducted over $200 for something but with no explanation. It simply states: misc. other. Who do I contact to find out if they are allowed to deduct without reason? Shouldn't they have listed a reason for the deduction?

I was never told of any type of uniform or other deductions during orientation.

    Thanks.

  • What to do with a housebroken dog having potty accidents in house?

I have tried everything under the sun to help my female dog with separation anxiety. We moved over 4 months ago to a new house. She was marking her territory everywhere. She has it confined to the master bedroom.

We tried calm tablets, thundershirt, talking to her, paying more attention to her. Walking her umpteen times a day. Nothing. When we are getting ready to go to bed. X marks the spot. Literally, marks the spot. Today was the worst. My husband is really her owner. She ADORES him. She follows him everywhere when he is home. Lays at his feet when he is watching TV, etc. He had the weekend and yesterday off from work. She had a number 2 accident and the x mark spot.

I do not work because of a work related injury. So she is with me during the day until I go out. The only alternative I have is to crate her. I have had her examined by her vet. Talked to a dog trainer and all say it's separation anxiety. She is very healthy. She is a rescue dog. I know that she was severely abused before we got her according to the shelter. She was found inside a dumpster as a puppy. She was very thin and frail. She's quite the opposite now. She is at a healthy weight and loved intensely.

What other methods can I try? I'm at a loss what to do. Dog behaviorists are expensive. Thanks.

  • Family blames you for causing relative pain. How do you prove you didn't do it?

Short version of a hard reality. Sister blamed me for stealing aunt's ID. DIdn't do it. Sister is estranged long before incident occurred. Aunt moved away to live with relatives in another state. That side of family blaming me still to this day almost 20 years later.

My sister's personality changed after my mother died 25 years ago. She was a sweet loving person but was controlled by my mother. She befriended a controlling woman who blamed her other siblings for her failure in life. She became estranged from us. Married a man who controlled her and severed ties with us.

Found out that my aunt co-signed a loan for me. I cared for my aunt taking her for groceries, taking care of lawn, taking her to dr visits, buying her washer/dryer, furniture.

Sister went to aunt saying I got a credit card in her name. The card was in my name but I received a card in her name also. I was credit naive. Aunt blamed me. Never heard from her again. She died in 2006. I didn't cause my aunt pain or steal her ID. I cared for her. My sister's goal was to get her to sign over her house to her and her husband. Failed. He inherited mother's house. My sister abandoned my aunt. She had no one. Family took her to another state. Family is blaming me for my aunt's pain to this day.

I have forgiven all involved. I have a new family and am happily married.

How do you prove to them you didn't do anything illegal? I was the victim here really. Thanks.

  • How can you get past the past?

My mother's side of the family is still blaming me for something that happened nearly 20 years ago. My mom died young in her mid 50s. My sibling drifted apart from the rest of her sisters and cut ties with us. She became best friends with a controlling woman. She deserted us 2 weeks before Christmas. We tried staying together for financial reasons only. We rented a nice apartment and then she suddenly moved out.

Fast forward 5 years, her husband asked me to charge something on my credit card. The card was in my name but also my aunt's name. She cosigned a car loan for me and the cards came in my name and hers. My sister never repaid the purchase to me. She used the information and told my aunt that I had stolen her ID. I had been paying on the credit card every month and had it almost paid off.

My aunt severed ties with us completely. I tried showing her the credit card statements. I had never had a credit card and was credit naive. Really naive about credit. My youngest sister offered to pay off the card and cut it up. Later, from other friends we found out that my sister had an ultimatum to get my aunt to sign over her home to her. A few months later, my sister and her husband inherited his mother's house. My sister left my elderly aunt without transportation in a very rural area with no public transit. Her family stepped in sold the house and moved her to another state. She died 5 years later. I never got to try to reconcile with her at all.

My sister's actions cost me my relationship with my mother's family. They still blame me to this day for my sister's evil ways. I am happily married. I have close friends and my new family. My husband's family. I still have my younger siblings that I am very close.

I have given up trying to explain to them I did not deliberately set out to hurt my aunt. I took her for groceries every week. I bought her clothing, furniture, gave her my washer/dryer when I moved in my apartment. I took her to the doctor regularly. Took care of her when she broke her leg. I gave her money for food when she didn't have any. Took her on vacations. Loved her.

I tried desperately to explain to her that we didn't do anything wrong and that my sister was planning something to benefit herself.

20 years later, I am friendly to them on Facebook but do not trust them at all. I can sense their hostility towards me. My husband works 60 hours a week. I care for a handicapped sister. My sister's lies are still haunting me. I have forgiven her completely. Why can't my family see this? Thanks.

  • Why won't family believe that I have an honest emergency?

My eyeglasses broke last Sunday night. I have been trying to get them fixed for over 3 days now. I am using my glasses from 4 years ago and can barely see from them. It is not safe for me to drive in these glasses at all. It is because my eyes are better now than 4 years ago.

I was to take my sister for groceries tomorrow but have sent her emails, text messages and messages on FB. I told point blank that I am UNABLE to drive. She thinks that I am lying to her.

She offered me money, is sending harassing text messages to my husband's cell phone, leaving nasty messages on FB.

I would gladly help her but I am not risking my safety or hers. I can drive locally and in short trips only. She lives over 20 miles away and a 30 minute trip. My head and eyes hurt so bad today from the eyestrain.

I love her but how do I get through to her that I'm not avoiding her? I'm hurting and can't do anything until I get new glasses.

  • Where can I find lenses for glasses that are scratched?

I bought a new pair of glasses from a major optical center. The glasses were poorly made. The lenses are so scratched that I can not use them whatsoever. The glasses are only 4 months old. I have worn glasses since age 5. I put them in a eyeglass case at night. I only a glass cleaner from my optometrist. I never wear the glasses when doing crafts or woodwork. I refinish old furniture.

I was watching tv on Sunday night and had trouble seeing through the lenses. I cleaned them several times then finally looked at the lenses to see that they were scratched up as if someone took sandpaper to them. No one except myself has ever handled my glasses.

I contacted the store where I purchased the glasses. I knew that I paid extra for their warranty. I have the receipt of the purchase. I spoke to an optician and he said that he has no record only the sale receipt. I called my vision insurance and found out that I am eligible for new lenses since the store will not honor their warranty.

The problem is that I am having terrible eyestrain from wearing a very old pair of glasses. It is really hard to focus in this pair.

I am going to pick up my prescription from the eye doctor and go to another optical place to see what I can afford. Since my prescription is strong I will need the lighter plastic lenses.

Can anyone please recommend a national chain which has the best and most reasonable prices on lenses. I bought this pair at JCPenney. I went to Sears also. My insurance will likely pay 80% of the bill. My last pair of glasses cost over $500 at my local optometrist from 3 years ago. I'm thinking about going to either Walmart or one called America's Best. Recommendations, please! Thanks.

  • New eyeglasses damaged so soon? What could have happened?

I have worn glasses since I was very young around 5. I know how to care for them after all these years. I just bought a pair of eyeglasses back in April that cost me around $700 (insurance covered 50%. I paid the rest out of pocket). The glasses are ruined not from any accidents or harsh wear. It is just everyday wear and tear. I keep my glasses in a case at night. I clean them with special eyeglass cleaner.

I was trying to watch TV the other night and finally looked at the lenses. They are horribly scratched up! It looks like someone took sandpaper and scratched up the lenses. I finally gave up and am wearing my old pair I got 3 years ago. The prescription is different and is causing me headaches. I bought a warranty with the glasses and the optical center I purchased them claims I didn't purchase the warranty but I have the transaction online that I did purchase it.

Is it normal for eyeglass lenses to get so damaged after only 4 months of wear? Is there anywhere I can report these crooks to? I now in January will have to get a new pair of glasses from my old optometrist. At least I know I will have them for a few more years. I usually purchase new glasses every two years. I will have to pay over 75% next January because I am allowed only 1 pair every 2 years on my insurance. Thanks.

  • Strange employment situation. Do she still have a job?

My sister was hired on July 22 for a new job. She filed out all the paperwork, physical and drug test done 10 days ago. She's called the scheduler but still doesn't have a start date. The physical and drug test was normal. Negative for drug use.

I never in the years I have worked got hired then had to wait so long. There was a time 10 years ago that I moved from one state to another to start. That was because I had to give a 2 week notice, physically move to my new state and then start the next Monday.

The HR manager has not responded to her about a start date. She's had her paperwork in for nearly 10 days. In my opinion, they hired someone with less experience who'll make less per hour and she'll never start. Shouldn't she look for another job? Thanks

  • Landlord question. Who is responsible?

I recently moved into a new privately owned rental. Some of the appliances aren't working and the landlord is saying that he won't fix it. It states in my new lease that unless I damaged the property that he is responsible for the repairs. My next door neighbor said that the last tenant moved out months ago. He said they were an older couple. He said that the couple left the property looking really nice and cleaned it well. When I moved in and was spotless. The problems just started to happen. I have no contact information only a rental agent..

The agent refuses to get the repair done. Help!

  • Is this psychotic behavior?

My sister got a new job a week ago. She first lied that she had the job to me. Why I don't know. I had a gut feeling that she was lying then asked her to finally tell me the truth. A person isn't all giddy when they are upset about losing a job. I got mad at her lying me and told her I needed time to stay away from her. She then admitted she took the keys to a car that I have stored in her garage. The problem is that she doesn't have a driver's license. I take her around for her groceries. She lives on unemployment.

I gave her money yesterday for a bus so she could get to a doctor for a physical for the new job. I live 25 miles away from her and told her I couldn't take her because of prior appointments this week.

She started last night sending very strange text messages to my husband's cell phone. She is screaming at my other sister who lives with her. My other sister is handicapped. It sounds like she has some serious psychological issues. I know she needs a job. She says she will walk 2 miles one way to get to work. I think this is all over me not allowing her to drive my car. She can't start the car anyway there is no battery in the car. Is this deliberate or psychotic behavior? Thanks.

  • Is this anger or disappointment?

My younger sister is bossy. She had been unemployed for a while. She landed a job in an assisted nursing facility as a care aide. She was an STNA but let her license go. She also does not have a valid driver's license. She tried taking the test but failed it and gave up.

I sat down and was willing to pay for a driving school for her to get her license. I also had a old car that was my husband's. It was his winter beater car but would get her to work. I was going to give it to her to use. She and I sat down about a month ago and she agreed to first get her license then look for work. She is getting unemployment at the moment and it's ending soon. She applied at this job and got hired this past Monday. She expected me to drive her back and forth to work everyday. I live 25 miles away from her which is a 45 minute drive one way for me or let her use my car without a license. I told her absolutely not would I let her operate a car without a license!

She lives on the bus route in her town which can take her back and forth to work or use a taxi. I offered to pay for the first week's bus fare. I found out that she stole the keys out of my purse but the car wouldn't start.

I got so mad at her that I changed my phone number. I still care for her but lying, stealing, and disregarding my privacy drew a line in the sand. If she were caught driving my husband's car then my husband could lose his license, lose our auto insurance or even go to jail if she caused a wreck.

I know in time I will get over this but making her sweat without my help might teach her a lesson to respect me. Our mother passed away a while ago. My mom would have been very disappointed in the way she's acting. Thanks.

  • How would you handle a difficult situation?

My sister has been unemployed for 2 years. She doesn't have a driver's license. She took the test and failed it twice. I have a car for her and she wants to drive it without a license. I told her absolutely not. She got a new job today after I asked her to wait to first get her license and then go for a job. She is living on unemployment right now.

She expects me to come pick her up everyday. I live 30 minutes away from her one way. I told her I can't afford with the price of gas.

Isn't she being selfish? I know she needs a job. I can't face the fines and penalties if she were caught driving my car. I would get fined and lose my insurance and possible license.

I'm going to store the car for now. How would you handle this situation?

    Thanks.

  • Prospective job wants a lot of references. Why?

My sister applied for a job 2 weeks ago. She has over 17 years experience as a nurse aide. She took time off to care for a very sick relative. She applied for a job and had an interview 2 weeks ago.

She hasn't heard back whether she has the job or not yet. The interviewer keeps calling her for references. She gave them 2 solid references from former co-workers. The interviewer called her today for another 2 and still no offer a job. Why so many references? Are they doing this to file the application away because of procedure? I have been in the job market for over 20 years and never was asked for a lot of references. My husband has an MBA and said it seems like they are following HR procedure to file the application away and that she didn't get the job. Thanks.

  • Would this make you upset?

My sister accessed my cell phone voicemail today. She used the remote feature on my personal cell account and guessed my pin. I wouldn't do that to her. I wouldn't go behind my husband's back and access his voicemail messages.

Was this wrong? How should I handle it? I have changed the access code pin already and my online cell phone account password. This made me very upset. Thanks.

  • Is there a possibility of still getting this job?

One of my family members tried out for a job over 2 weeks ago. The only phone call she got was one asking for more references, Usually after a week I would have given up. The HR person called her one reference but not me. This to me seems strange.

Could it be that she might still get the job or they doing this so that they can file the application away? My husband is a manager with a MBA (master's in business administration). He thinks they should have called her by now if she were to be offered a job. Why are they still asking for references after almost 2 to 3 weeks? Is there a chance she will still get the job? Thanks.

  • Strange collection agency bill. How did they get my new address?

I received a bill at my new address that I just moved into 6 weeks ago. I have moved twice since moving out of the apartment that I lived in for 4 years. The bill was strange also. It had my nickname, married name and then maiden name. I haven't used my maiden name for 8 years for any type of credit. It was for items delivered to the apartment that I moved out of in 2010. I did not leave a forwarding address with the post office when I moved out in 2010.

I did not order any books from that club. I guess what is bothering me is how did they get my new address. The only people I have given my new address is my creditors, former landlord, and close friends. All vital creditors were notified. Almost all the bills are in my husband's name also.

I believe what happened is that someone who moved into the apartment got a letter with my name. Ordered the items, never paid for it. The creditor sent the bill to a collection agency. How can I dispute this fraudulent bill? Also, are current creditors allowed to sell your private information? I only have 2 credit cards and an electric bill in my name. The electric bill is in my first full name and married last name. There is no mention of my maiden name on the account.

I have been a victim of ID theft in the past. I have a freeze on my credit profile with the credit reporting agencies. This sounds like ID theft with a new twist. A bottom feeder debt collection agency finding out a current address when no new address was updated.

    Thanks.

  • Very small dent in edge of trunk lid. Should I claim this on my car insurance?

I just found a very small dent on the trunk lid of my new car. It's about the size of a pencil eraser and is on the right edge of the trunk lid. I know that I did not do it. I am very careful when I load my car for groceries, etc. I'm thinking that someone banged into my car and never left a note or responsibility for damaging my car. My car is a 2013 Kia Forte

I have good car insurance but will a no fault claim raise my rate? I looked online at a body shop who specializes in repairing dents called a paintless dent repair. It will cost around $150 to get the dent repaired. I was in a car accidents around 15 years ago when a teenager who had her license for 1 hour ran a red light and smashed into my car. It took me almost 6 months to get my car fixed because the family didn't have car insurance. I had to save for 6 months for the deductible.

My rates after the accident went up so bad that I had to go a cheap auto insurance plan. Should I pay for it out of pocket or put it on a claim?

    Thanks.
