I live in a building that is primarily Seniors and Disabled folks. A quiet building. No drama or derelicts, Safe. Recently, a Heroin addict, actively using, was allowed in because his criminal background check (CORI) was clean. I know for an absolute fact that he was in prison several times in his life. His record must have been expunged. I need to find that information but don't know where to begin. Maybe someone here will know? He is dangerous and must go. He robbed me of 3oo dollars and took all of my medication for Diabetes. He stole jewelry from another tenant as well.

I did work all my life and now I am disabled,living on nothing and they are going to take $100 monthly for Medicare. I don't have any choice?

My 30 year old niece gave birth to her first babies, twins, one year ago. She is a wonderful, loving Mom. A few weeks ago she took custody of her 3 yo niece as her Sister is a serious heroin addict. Of course the poor little girl was neglected and mistreated. Her addicted Mother kept that a big secret and stayed away from all of us, but we found out and got the baby out of a horrific situation with a bone deep diaper "rash." Now the child is living with the two babies and my niece and her husband and is acting out constantly.Violent towards the babies etc. I know some of it is her age but she has also been dragged from place to place all of her short life and has had no structure or consistency. It is wearing on the young family and I would just like to get some ideas about what to do for the kid and maybe some suggestions on where my niece can get some support. The rest of the family is of no help except to criticize.

I adore kids but I'd like to see some questions that don't involve needing help with homework or fights with the bff's.

I have been looking for my estranged cousins for many years. I found them recently. One cousin and I were close as young adults.We hadn't seen or spoken to each other in 35 years. We connected again easily talking for hours on the phone a couple times a week. About three weeks into our new found friendship, I became ill. A bad fluish type thing. Not life or death.I made that clear to her.Sleeping was difficult. One Sunday afternoon I was sleeping and I heard the land line phone ring. I ignored it and went back to sleep.My cell was off so I would not be disturbed. When I woke up I listened to my messages. It was my cousin calling over and over. She even went as far as calling the local hospitals. I think if I had not called her she would have sent the police to my house. My friends of twenty years and more would not do that if I didn't answer the phone. I reserve the right to not answer my phone if I don't want to. Those people who are alarmists are the ones who get real dramatic and excuse their behavior with,"I worry, I can't help it." I say you can help it. There was no reason to think I was dead on the floor or tied up in a closet after being burgled. Some folks cannot stand it when a person does not answer the phone and sit and stew over it inventing all kinds of horrors that may have occured.I have walked away from friendships because of that behavior. Some people are way too dramatic.Don't I have a right to not answer my phone? Is this not America? Apparently,our new found friendship has ended because of this. She has not called or returned my calls. I am sad but also, I can't have all that drama in my life. There are 'off' buttons for a reason!
