Very soon is my first deployment. Im going to a especially ****** up part of Afghanistan. im not going to be on a FOB. my company is deploying to a cop and my platoon is splitting time at a pop for a month at a time. im airborne infantry so i wont be sitting on my *** the entire time there and just curious on little extra things i should bring to take up my down time, obviously i have gotten suggestions from friends here but im curious what you think? thanks.

I baught a pretty cheap lenovo laptop yesterday. I called got internet for my room and it connected just fine for about 15 minutes, while I was in the middle of a Skype call my WiFi went out and the icon in the lower left corner said no connections avlaible I know that there was other connections around me when I first checked my computer. I don't know what to do please help if you can. Thank you

It's the end of tower week my first jump is Monday.. any advice?

I'm in tower week of jump school as a Pfc, all of the other privates and I where just gathered at the end of the day in the barracks and had a drill sergeant that's in our platoon smoked the shhitt out of us for "making" him and the nco's do pushups cause we are " at the bottom of the todem pole that he built" I thought this was supposed to be a no rank school? I know there's nothing I can do about it but is this some bs or what?

I am currently attending airborne school for the army. It's high stress physically and mentally, we have been doing a lot of chin ups before and after each time we eat. My left forearm has gotten to were after I do my 10 chin ups it aches for about an hour. It's a very similar pain to shin splints in the shin. I need to figure out what is up because if I go to a doctor I will get dropped from the course.

please help, i only have 5 minutes to figure out if i need to leave this ***** on the charger or if i am good to go

I signed up for the Army last June, right after that i started to use this forum as a resource to learn more about what i will be doing. I just would like to say thank you to everyone on here that has helped me out especially the Top Contributers, you guys really gave some great advice.

I leave in about 24 hours to ship out to my basic/Infantry/airborne training so i wont be able to be on here for a while. But i feel that i owe you guys a thank you, definitely helped me out more than my recruiters did.

What kind of unit would i have to be in? which special forces?

I need to get on Future soldiers to print out my certifications so that i can get my E-3 before i leave to basic in 9 days. and its not letting me launch the training part of the website. what do i do????

Any basic/ OSUT advice? im leaving in 20 days for Fort Benning. then jump school.

I enlisted with my SSN and my birth certificate and my high school ID. Do i need a state ID when i go to MEPs for the last time to ship out? or will the stuff i used before be ok? i only have 20 days until i ship so if i need to go get a identification card i need to get it like tomarrow

What things do i need to bring with me, i have the check list but its pretty general with everything. what should i get before i go? should i buy new running shoes to take with me so that i dont have to buy them at the PX? if so what kind would i have to get?
