If a student emails u about a confidential issue like distress, do you wait to respond on Monday in your office or do you email on weekend? Would you respond on the weekend or due to confidentiality would you respond when you re alone in your office first thing monday morning?

My friend confided in me and I’m really worried about her. She says her family gets mad out of embarrassment and says how embarrassed they’re that she is taking a longer time to finish university. They tell her to just drop out. She is so kind and nice and now understand why she doesn’t trust anyone. Her mom blames her for costing too much money so she is making the mom suffer. I worry she is going to vomit suicide in order to let her family be happy because that’s the type of person she is. Do I keep it private what she tells me?

Examples of this idea would explain the distinction between the European way of life and the indigenous peoples of Coast Salish. While the weather was warm, the Coast Salish actively hunted from fishing village to fishing village without a permanent settlement. In the meantime, Europeans recognized this as not owning a specified region, as there were no inhabited places throughout the year.
