  • Web page scroll when I move my finger across my laptop's touch pad, why is this?

I have a Gateway NE56R34u and I'm using currently using Windows 10. I also have a Synaptics touch pad. It doesn't happen every time I use the touch pad, but it happens enough that it gets annoying. I use Firefox for most of my web browsing. I often notice that the page scrolls up and down or left and right as I move my finger across my laptop's touch pad even when my finger is off the left click button. It happens with selecting tabs too as the tabs swing left to right as I move my finger on the touch pad. Any solutions are helpful.

  • Trying to find a song based on a similar sounding song, help?

I heard it in a few retail stores such as Bloomingdale's and Macy's. I heard it a while back. It seems like it's was made in the mid-2000s.

The segment I'm talking about is from the song "You'll Never Find (A Love Like Mine)" by Janet Jackson. It's starts at 0:43 and stops at 0:49.

    https://youtu.be/ovdDtSxGhBo?t=43s

The song in question sounds similar to that segment. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Could we use genetic engineering to create cryptid animals or mythological creatures from already existing animals?

Some examples would be Bigfoot, unicorns, dragons or a kraken.

  • (Part 2) Questions regarding acceleration and gravity?

Continued from this link (/question/index?qid=20161... because the questions went past the word limit.

    6. Is it true that the orbits of bodies beyond Mars are so elongated and far apart from one another because the sun’s gravity is significantly weaker the farther you go out?

  • Questions regarding acceleration and gravity?

    1. Shouldn’t you feel acceleration as you’re free falling? Aren’t you accelerating towards the ground?

    2. Shouldn’t acceleration be felt constantly as you’re moving? Aren’t you accelerating towards a single destination? Why aren t the astronauts on the ISS being pressed the walls of the station constantly?

    3. If you travel at the near the speed of light and come back to earth everyone has aged considerably. Why is that? Shouldn’t the inhabitants who stayed on earth have aged only a fraction since time for them is basically zero for the people on the craft on a round trip traveling at light speed?

    4. Light is only thing that can move at the speed of light, true. Apparently, it would seem to the particle that it would get to its destination almost instantaneously t such speeds, but since light has

a finite speed, shouldn’t it still experience travel time, albeit much quicker? It should get to its destination a bit later, but not instantly. Which one is true? If they’re both true, how is that?

    5. I heard that the feeling of weightlessness felt between astronauts onboard the ISS and those that were a part of the Apollo missions in the middle of space were more or less the same. But the astronauts on the ISS are moving sideways, but more importantly, are also falling

towards the Earth, thus the experiencing the feeling of weightlessness. What were the Apollo astronauts “falling” towards to get that same feeling?

  • How can objects like the sun and Jupiter have such high gravitational fields?

I believe the sun has a gravitational range of almost 2 light years despite being almost 865,000 miles across. How can that be?

  • "Could not create the java virtual machine, a fatal exception has occurred"?

I m trying to run Sinking Simulator 2. I downloaded it and the .jar file wouldn t open when I double clicked it so I downloaded JAR_runner in order to open it. This time when I clicked on the program a command window opened for a second then closed. It did that every time I tried to open it. I used command prompt to see what the problem was and I got this message:

"Could not create the java virtual machine a fatal exception has occurred program will exit."

I tried everything. I restarted my computer, uninstalled and reinstalled java, updated java, uninstalled and reinstalled my graphics card, updated my the graphics card, and tried this method (http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/faq/id-1761312/fix-c... changing it from 256, 512 and 1024mb. All to no avail.

    I currently have windows 10, 64 bit, and I have Java 8 Update 101.

  • Should I go back to community or just get a job?

I have mixed feelings right now.

On one hand, I would rather just get another job and provide for my family and I until I can back on my feet. What's worse is that I'm taking out loans that I can't pay back just so I can back to go to school in which I have no idea what degree to take. I wanted to a writer and major in creative writing, but everyone (parents, siblings, case worker, people here, etc) said it's not in demand and there's no money in it, and since I don't know what else to do I'm feel I'm wasting my time at school.

But on the other hand, I want to broaden my horizons before it gets too late. I want to make something out of myself because I know my family absolutely want it. I feel job hunting isn't landing me into any serious source of employment fast enough and I go back to school I can at least have something to put on my resume so employers can pick me out of the crowd.

    I don't know. Any help?

  • Questions about eBay and shipping (more inside)?

I have two items that I'm ready to ship. I've printed out both shipping labels for them and will buy the proper materials to ship them, but I don't know how to.

Further digging around on the web and it said that I could wait for my mailman to arrive and give them the packages or send them to the post office with a fee added. Which option is better or am I limited to just one choice?

  • Would these actions be considered bipolar?

Since I haven't be able to pin down and afford a doctor, I come to you guys for assistance.

I can get easily pissed off at things (being bumped, being called on constantly, slow computer heat/humidity, traffic, ect) and this pissy mood can last for hours sometimes a day or two, ranging from being irked to ready to attack someone. I can even get pissed off at random thoughts, but they fleet within a second or so.

On the other side, things that usually don't make me sad can suddenly debilitate me for a half hour/hour, leaving me with red eyes, sniffles and languid/motionless behavior. I can become hopeless and suicidal at the sight of seeing or reading something sad or morbid, but this sad and languid feeling goes away gradually, usually over a few minutes. Sometimes, I can be happy and sporadic more than usual and sometimes I can just be normal with no changes.

    Well?

  • My father wants me to join the military, should I?

He wants me to go into the army. I've actually told him I wanted to go years ago, but he downright refused. But now he wants me to go because my school life "is going nowhere," despite nagging me to go to school to do something with my life. And he also wants me to go since it will pay for school and "improve my chances of finding a job."

Speaking of which, I'm still looking for a job since he pushed me to do and I, personally, want some money in my pocket. So now he's complaining about that too. Mainly because I haven't had any results. I can't win.

Anyway, I've changed my mind about the army now and I've told him that I'm not physically or psychologically ready for the army (since I'm bipolar and incredibly anxious as is), and I just don't feel like going anyway but it's in one ear and out the other with him. He tells me that there are people there to help me with that, but why can't I do that here? He tells me there's "no war going on anyway" and due to my intellect that I'll probably won't see combat anyway.

    Should I go anyway?

  • How do I become more committed to my work and assignments?

Because any time I'm given a lengthy or time-consuming job I put it off so much that it doesn't get done for hours.

I see a task I'm supposed to do and I immediately start "whining" at it because I see it as such a daunting task. And what happens is that I put it off and I often go and indulge myself into sometime much enjoyable to me. I can't seem to hunker down and work without getting quickly bored or frustrated at the material. I think it's because I'm also inattentive and my mind wanders constantly so paying attention is very hard of me to do.

This is what happens a good portion of the time when I have to work and often I usually skip the assignment completely or do the bare minimum because I just don't feel like completing it.

I want to stop that, but I don't know how (without throwing a fuss over changing my behavior) to do so.

    Please help.
