My son is ADHD/Bipolar, and in special education. He has been suspended for 10 days, which brings his suspension days to over 10 days already. I know a Manifestation Determination meeting has to be done. The day after he was suspended I received a voicemail from the vice principal telling me that they were having the manifestation determination meeting that day at the school. I didn't get this until a few days later since I wasn't home.

They didn't properly notify me of this meeting, since they held the meeting about an hour or two after they left me the voice mail. They had the meeting without me and determined (of course) that my sons behavior is not related to his disability. They claimed to have made several attempt to contact me, they only called me once on my home phone and never tried my cell phone.

1. What is considered the proper amount of time for a Manifestation Determination meeting?

2. Is having a this meeting without proper notification, and without my presence illegal, does it violate IDEA?

I'm a 29 year old woman seeing an 18 year old guy. Is this frowned upon? Is this wrong? Is this appropriate? I don't know where it will go, if anywhere but just in case.

I don't think if you saw us together you would be able to tell that I am older than him, since he looks older than his age, and I look much younger than my age. He is also very mature to a degree of course. We get along very well, this is not a serious relationship. I do value his life experience at his age, and have told him he is free to date whomever he wants and live his life. I would never tie him down at that age, plus I am not ready for a relationship.
