I like a lot of things and will ask off the wall questions. I will not tolerate negative answers, so that means if you are going to say something other than positive, or with the humor of the question, prepare to be reported. I don't randomly report people, I see if they truly give helpful answers or not but the other questions they answer. Either way, email me or ask to find out more about me or something. Ha, get it? ask? too funny..

  • What is this specific song on the Says You game show last week?

On November, 3, 2013, there was a 11:00 A.M. broadcast of Says You on Alabama Public Radio. Unfortunately I was not able to stay for the entire segment, but I heard something that genuinely caught my attention.

During the bluffing round, I heard what sounded like a cello and violin play during Richard's commercial to the audience. I am obsessed to know who and what was playing. I would really like to know what they were playing so I maybe could find sheet music of it.

Again, it sounded like either a cello or viola, and a violin playing during Richard's monologue. I don't know if they playing during multiple rounds, so any push in the right direction would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

  • How much would a decent 20 foot sail boat cost?

Before anyone thinks that I have mistaken Yahoo Answers for Craigslist, please read my post entirely. I am not looking to buy a boat from someone on Yahoo Answers. This question is purely about necessary research of the boats I am interested in.

For the very longest while now I have been wanting a sail boat for my own personal satisfaction. To be able to take care of it and it take care of me. The boat I have in mind will not be anything fancy or special. Must have a cabin, outboard motor preferred, not too old being in fair to decent condition. Easy to trailer, salt water rated. I'm considering using this proposed sailboat as a vacation vehicle and second home and trailer it at home during off season. Primary home is an option if things turn sour with the house. Since most of the dedicated sailing lifestyle websites didn't take me seriously and most marinas act like exclusive cliques, the only remaining option I have is to ask here.

I know all about the fact that I need to hang around other sailors and learn to handle a boat before considering buying one. Safety is of course a factor being alone on a sail boat among many other things such as basic navigation. It's not hard to see that I need experience and so I will gain that before I consider purchasing said boat. So all of those terrible answers of "if you have to ask, you can't afford it" will be promptly ignored. We all had to start somewhere and I was left with no choice but to start here.

    What I need:

Ballpark estimates on what to expect to pay on a sailboat about 20 foot long(25 foot max) in fair to good condition. Outboard engine strongly preferred. Single mast.

Rough estimate of typical marine insurance in case of accidental sinking or unseaworthiness due to damage.

Serious answers only please. If anyone also wants to donate websites or reference material to my research of life on the water then I will gladly accept those sources.

    Thanks in advance.

  • .22 rifle throws rounds before loading. help?

I have recently inherited a .22 rifle and recently tried testing and shooting it. I filled the tube magazine and pulled the slide handle back, and when the bolt slid forward the .22 round was ejected before it went into the barrel. Tried it again with a second round and it was the same result.

I know it was unsafe to fire it until I found the problem, so I put the safety on and direct loaded a .22 round into the barrel. I then closed the slide, pulled it back so it would eject the direct loaded round like a spent round(it ejected properly), then pushed the slide forward and it pulled up a .22 round from the tube magazine as it was supposed to, still to throw it out before it went into the barrel.

We are completely perplexed by this and hope someone could give us some help.

The rifle is a .22 Marlin Diamond Jubilee. I can be able to provide photos of the action if it is necessary.

    Please help. Thanks in advance.

  • Is it legal to own a railroad rail? Read for details?

First, I want to say we did not steal these rails and they were not near a rail road and they are in terrible condition.

Now. I want to know if it is legal to own railroad rails or tracks. The rail is what the train wheel would go over and ride on. My grandmother found two rails half-submerged in the dirt near a horse water-trough we have and we were able to free them. They were in terrible condition(warped, high corrosion and peeling rusted layers) and my grandmother guessed her deceased husband got them for some unknown reason. We cannot find any paper work or receipts that would go with them or where they came from. The only evidence we have is "MARYLAND" stamped on the side.

We are also very financially strapped. It is very tempting to sell these rails(they are in such terrible condition) to a metal recycling facility. We do not want to take the rails to the facility if it is illegal to own them and receive a fine.

Understand, we found the railroad rails on our property buried in the dirt and can only guess they got there from my grandmother's husband about 40 years ago. We only want them if they are legal to have.

Is it legal to own railroad (two) rails?

  • Looking to replace my laptop hard drive disc completely, see details for more information, please.?

    Read completely please:

I'm looking to replace my laptop hard drive disc(HDD) completely and reinstall XP on it. This will undoubtedly remove the drivers. If I go to drivers.com, will it seek out the drivers on my computer and replace them?

I bought this computer third-hand and I do not have the restore disc for the laptop. All I got with it is the computer itself, a battery, and the power cord. When I replace the HDD, I will be updating the memory to 3gig(maybe 5), putting in a 360gig HDD and putting Windows XP Home edition on it.

Will I have to worry about more than drivers to make my touchpad, nub, infrared, CD burner, ports, and other assortment of accessories to work? What else should I expect in this endeavor? Should I have someone at Best Buy or a specialized computer place try this task? I am looking to return my computer to it's original functionality after I give it this update.

The laptop I have is a Compaq, but I forget the model.

All help is appreciated. Please site your sources and references.

    Thanks in advance,

  • What is a good Maya 3D rendering program to buy from gradware.com?

I have this one in mind, http://www.gradware.com/product/view/856025 but I am unsure if it has the watermark on it, or if I can use it for commercial purposes after my lessons in college. I am on an extremely tight budget and this is the best option (price-wise and program-wise) I know of. Other than that I am lost on the following:

    - Low cost.

    - Inclusive of most or all of latest Maya features.

    - No watermark in the finished product.

    - Usable for commercial purposes after it's function as my learning tool.

If anyone can point me in the right direction using these guidelines, or know of a place where I can purchase the Maya 3D product with these guidelines, I would be very appreciative. Or even tell me if the link I gave has all I have in mind.

    Thanks.

  • Looking for fountain pen that you refill from an ink bottle. Details follow.?

I have always been interested in writing and the penman arts, sadly I'm simply a beginner at this time. But I do have a certain pen in mind, though I need help finding it.

I have been looking over www.joon.com for a while, but have not found any definate answers to one thing I'm looking for: refilling method.

The kind of pen I'm looking for specifically is one that is to be refilled by ink bottle method where you dip the nib in and twist some part of it. I think it's called piston or something. And has an average flat nib that can handle casual school use as well as be able to let me practice calligraphy.

I'm a beginner to fountain pens so I'm looking for a pen that isn't expensive. An exquisite pen shouldn't be wasted on a beginner.

Does anyone know which inexpensive fountain pen fits these categories that I can get from that website or elsewhere?:

    - Refills from an ink bottle using the nib.

    - Nib can stand to casual as well as calligraphic use.

    Thanks in advance.

  • I have the idea of buying a boat and sailing to different countries. What can I expect? Details follow.?

I understood a long while back that I can buy some sort of docking permit and it will allow me to sail to any port and reside in that area. Is this true?

I am a home-body. I don't want to lose my residence where I live, but I have looked forwards to travelling. Is travelling by self-sailing really inexpensive?

If I literally buy a boat suitable for safe sail and set off for another country, what should I expect upon embarking and disembarking?

  • On XP, i want to start using my windows movie maker. Details follow.?

I'm a first time user of windows movie maker, so I'm not sure of everything it can do, but I have been playing around with it a bit.

What I want to do is effects like slow-down, speed-up, heavy shadow, strip audio, replace audio, and particle effects.

I can't buy any "packages" and I can't buy anything else, so please stay on the subject of Windows Movie Maker. I don't want to hear about Apple's products.

Where can I find some instructionals for Windows Movie Maker and maybe an upgrade for what it can do without it costing me much? I specifically am looking for what I can do in the above list.

Thank you for your help in advance.

  • Where can I download some classic songs like Blue Denube, The Toreador, and 1812?

I remember seeing an episode of Futurama when Bender was shot out of the ship and met God and he was swimming in space to the tune of a lilting Blue Denube Waltz, or that's what the closed captionning said it was anyway.

Has anyone heard of the Beer Song? Oh what is the malted liquor what gets you drunker quicker and comes in a bottle or a can? BEER! That's the tune of the Toreador song. I just want the instrumental piece, NO LYRICS.

1812 is that boom boom piece of music, very triumphant and is often linked with cannons and explosions.

I am just looking for these songs on open websites so that means that are legally up for grabs if someone can find a way to download them

Where can I find these songs?

  • My grandma refuses to eat the peels of any fruit or vegetable for fear of pesticides, is her fear unfounded?

She'll peel everything from cherries to tomatoes, and refuses to let anyone eat the apple peels from the apple itself. She is so paranoid of the fact that the fruit and vegetable is so chock-full of pesticides and plant-feeders that she even refuses to let the end product go into a compost pile.

I'm curious to know, is there reason to why she feels like she has to discard every part of the "contaminated" piece of the fruit, or is there no reason to throw away peel and core alike?

  • I saw a retractable spike at a flea market that was made disguised as a pen, where can I find one online?

This spike was very simple, it was disguised about the size and look of a larger writing pen and had a swivel pocket clasp to protect the button from accidental discharge. The spike shaft itself was very basic, and it poked out with the pressing of the button and supplied enough force that it took pressing it carefully against the table to retract it.

I have since been back to this flea market and the item was not available anymore. Where may I find a spike like this online so I may add it to my collection?

I have no devious intents for this item, I only want to collect it. Serious responses only please.

  • What is this martial art that focuses on drawing the sword? Is it a real martial art?

I've seen more independent films being made with a certain type of sword play. It's not the films I'm focusing on, by the fighting system they use.

This fighting style seems to use katanas of average length and there were two people fighting in this particular scene. They started to go at each other but they did not draw their sword as you would expect except they took a very hands on approach. When they did weapon attack it was by flinging the sheathe in their off-hand between kicks or punches.

Ocassionally they drew the swords but with shearing speed. I admit it could be special effects that made it from sheathed to swung but it was interesting. And after they attacked with the sword they immediately sheathed it. I also noticed that when one of them drew from the hip again the defender held up his katana and drew it only half-way, successfully using it as a block.

  • Origami instructional help: the butterfly?

    http://www.ganymeta.org/~darren/images/origami/dia...

I've been trying to make that butterfly, but I always get stopped on the 7th step(the picture to the bottom right of the starting square. I tried doing my best to look past it and do the next best thing I could and improvise the step but it just threw off the instructional and then I even imagined the steps further down the line and I can't really conceive the steps in my mind.

Is this jsut a bad instructional or am I completely missing the step it's trying to show me?

If it is a bad instructional, where may I find anotehr realistically rounded butterfly origami fold? I don't want the result to look sharp or pointed, this round effect is perfect for what I'm wanting to do in my handmade bouquet.
