Hey guys I just bought a EVGA GeForce 8400 GS graphics card and I'm hoping to put it in a cheap computer from craigslist or something. My goal is to use the computer as an HTPC( Home theater pc). So I would like to run the computer at 1080p or at least 720p. That is why I bought the graphics card. So far I am thinking about the Dell GX620 USFF Pentium 4 HT 3.0Ghz. Can I put this new graphics card in this pc? Should I go with a different pc. Will upgrading the graphics card allow me to run at a higher resolution?

I have a program that I need some help with. I'm in an intro to Computer Science Class and we are learning Java

Today we learned the printf() method, but I must have missed something. Im building a program that acts as a cash register.

It needs to prompt the user for the amount of the sale and display it

prompt the user for the amount tendered and display it

and then align them like so:

Enter Amount of Sale: $ 8.28

Enter Amount Tendered by Customer: $ 10.00

(the dollar signs are supposed to line up and so are the 8 and 0)

If you could show me how to accomplish this that would be amazing!!!!

I'm Majoring in Mathematics with a minor in Computer Science.

I have already taken Calc 1 & 2 and Elementary Linear Algebra

I plan on taking Multivariable calc next semester and I'm contemplating taking Linear Algebra too.

1) Is this too much work? That will make 16 credit hours

2) Is it too much to take Both MultiVariable Calc and Linear Algebra at the same time?

Linear is not a required class. It is an optional elective. In place of Linear Algebra I could take Abstract Algebra, or Introduction to Real Analysis

I bought the HP envy 15t-j000 which came with windows 8 pre installed. My planned was to dual boot that with ubuntu 13.04 or Linux Mint 15. However, no Linux operating system that I have tried can access my wifi.

On my F12 key there is a wifi hard switch, which doesn't work. When I run commands like rfkill unblock all, my wifi remains hard blocked. I have attempted to reinstall the driver and to edit the configuration file of the wifi card.

My belief is that HP won't allow wifi access on any system that is not windows. All of my other special keys (like the volume + and -, as well as the brightness) work fine.

I have also tried ubuntu 12.04 but to no avail. If anyone can offer insight i would be very appreciative.

Hi, I recently bought an HP ENVY 15t-j000 and I have tried installing Ubuntu 13.04, 12.10, 12.04, Linux Mint 14 and 15, and Debian 7. Everything works on all of these Operating Systems except for my wifi. My ethernet works but the wifi does not. Does anyone know when my laptop will receive full support? I have a Realtek card, I believe it is an r8169. How often do these things usually take? Please hurry, I hate windows 8. Thank You!

Hi I'm stuck between two schools right now. Eastern Michigan University, and Wayne State University. I know that neither are as good as U of M or MSU when it comes to the reputation. Im going for a degree in actuarial sciences and/or mathematics. I know EMU is mostly a teaching school but I know a few people that have degrees from there that are actuaries. I also know that Wayne State has like the lowest standards to get it. I would be living on campus at either. Please Help!!!

Hello my friends and I are spending spring break in chicago. We arrive on April 2nd at the union station in chicago. We are staying at the james chicago hotel. What is the best (cheapest) way to get there? Can we walk? or should we take a bus?

I need serious help. I dont know which university i should go to. Background info. I scored a 28 on my ACT, i havr a 4.1 GPA and i am graduating 3rd in my class. I was accepted everywhere i applied. So heres the problem. I dont know if i should go to Eastern Michigan University or the University of Michigan. I have recieved no financial aid or scholarships from U of M, but i have recieved a 4,500 dollar a year scholarship from EMU. U of M is obviously thr better school, but i feel that I could be more involved at Emu (marching band, class office, clubs) also i was accepted into EMU's Honor College. I want to double major in mathematics and actuarial sciences. I know that U of M is thr better choice in terms of reputation, but would it be better for me to save money and do more activities at EMU? Thank you!

Hello my name is zach. I am having trouble deciding which university will be the best option for me. I have been accepted everywhere i applied. (ACT 28 ,CLASS RANK 3, gpa 4.1). i plan to dual major in math and actuarial sciences. I live in michigan and i will be attending college in state due to the cheaper prices. I have narrowed my choices down to Eastern Michigsn University(EMU) and the university of michigan(U of M). I have recieved a 4500 dollar per year scholarship from EMU and i have not recieved a scholarship from U of M. I probably wont hear from either in terms of financial aid (FAFSA/CSS/PROFILE) for a few months. I have been guaranteed a spot in EMU's honors college, whicj comes with a lot of perks. So i need advice and opinions. Where do you think i should go and why? Money is a big factor but not necessarily a deal breaker. I have always wanted to be a wolverine but i wouldnt mind going to EMU. I like both campuses. I hear that with an actuarial science degree it doesnt matter where i grt my degree from because job opportunities are based more on how many actuarial exams i pass rather than name recognition. Any input is greatly appreciated. Thank You!

My question is that I'm 6 feet tall, and about 210-215lbs.

hello everyone, I recently discovered that you can directly link dropbox to your bittorrent client. I would like to be able to download a torrent file while im away from the computer straight to my dropbox folder so that my client will start the download. However, I am having trouble downloading .torrent files on my phone. It either says the webpage is unavailable or the page wont load. I understand that torrent files get a bad rap for being illegal but not all are guys. Any advice is appreciated.

hello everyone. I am a junior in high school. I have a 4.1 and got a 28 on my ACT. I really like math and science, but not so much biology. I want to have a job where I come in and solve equations that apply to the needs of a client like an insurance company or a big business. I have always been good at math and I like working with numbers. I would also like a high paycheck, as close to or above $100,000 as I can.

Hey I'm looking for a new laptop and I'm not sure which one I should get. HP PAvilion laptop with 6gb of ram, a 640gb HDD, and an AMD A8-series processor. Or the Dell inspiron with 6gb of ram, 500gb HDD, and an intel 2nd gen i3 processor. Im also looking at a samsung laptop with the same specs as the dell. I do a lot of video editing and audio editing. I am also a college student. I would like the laptop to have a gesture trackpad but its not necessary. I don't do a lot of gaming, hardly any. If you guys have any other ideas for my "perfect" laptop any suggestion would be appreciated. my price limit is $600 but i would like to stay around $550. Thank you!

Hello, I sent squaretrade my macbook twice and they failed to fix it both times. Now they are saying that they will reimburse me for the price of the macbook. I later received an email from them saying that I need to send the macbook in to them in order to be reimbursed. This doesn't seem fair, do I have to send it in?
