  • My dog doesn't seem to be eating as much lately?

He's on a good quality food that he usually woofs down, but the last week or so he's been eating at a slower pace..sometimes leaving some food.I thought maybe it was from the heat ,as its was a bit humid out. He likes the odd treat and loves his sardines I give him once a week, so I know he's not off his food. He is only a year old and is a retriever/collie x. I feed him 200g's twice a day. He fed from my hand and the ground last night, and I read some where that its possible that maybe he is getting a small shock from his stainless steel feeding bowl as the rubber ring has come off the bottom of it. Could this be the reason..as like I say , he doesn't actually seem to be really off his food as such. He's a good weight and doesn't seem to be losing any..although I will keep my eye on him,and if it continues over the next few days i'll bring him to the vets to be sure.

    Cheers!

  • Theres a new male version of the pill coming out?

would you trust your man to take it every day???

  • Hi, Was just wondering if its normal for my dog to do a poo right after eating?

He is a 10mth old Collie/Retriever cross. He is a healthy weight, but do they normally poo right after eating?Or would this be from his morning feed?? He is fed about 200g twice a day..once about 8am and again about 4pm.

  • Just started using Halti collar?

My dog just seems a little bit more wary off his surroundings now..kinda like he's on the alert all the time.Is it because he has a bit less freedom with this collar?? Know it takes a while for them to adjust to them, but our walks are much more enjoyable now once we get going.

  • any tips on how to get my dog to go into the car?

    Hi,

There are a few nice walks in my area to bring my dog but to get to them i need to drive there as they are too far to walk. My dog isn't crazy about the car and don't want to force him into it as i'll never get him in then. Got him in it today, but when we finished our walk i couldn't get him back in so had to walk him home, thankfully we weren't to far away as I was just trying him out in it. He is a 9mth old retriever/collie x so is too large for me to physically put him in the car myself, need him to want to go in himself.

Any tips on getting him in the car without stressing him out would be great.

  • arguing over housework!!!?

Myself and my fella had a row tonight over housework. He came home from work tonight and decided to do the hoovering upstairs..two bedrooms with wooden floors. He made a big deal about this and said that if he didn't do it , it wouldn't get done!!

I am on nightshift at the moment and was up at 3pm today as I am in again tonight. He said that he shouldn't have to do it as he works 5/6 days a week.

I said that I also work, and just because I am sometimes off during the week doesn't mean I should spend all that time cleaning.

I clean downstairs most days anyway! I do all the washing, bedding, sheets bathtowels, bathrugs etc and mop all the floors..which I have NEVER seen him do once!! I always do the food shopping and always have a dinner ready for him when he comes in from work. We also have a dog..which I pay everything for and bring for walks.

I feel I do so much around the house that he doesn't even realize and told him ythat if i stopped doing everything I do,he'd soon notice exactly how much I do around the place.

I went to work upset tonight because of this...am I over reacting?? Also,I know,we need to talk about this, as its getting to be an issue.

  • my dog doesn't lift his leg when peeing..?

My dog,a retriever/collie cross, is 9mts old and I am getting him neutered next week. I was just curious as to when and why they start cocking their leg when peeing. He hasn't started doing that yet thank god so i'm hoping it won't start now that he is being neutered. I am not neutering him for any other reason only that it is the responsible thing to do, but I have heard that in some cases it may slightly calm the dog down.My dog is pretty hyper as per the breed and i don't have a problem with that as he's walked every day,but was just wondering if neutering does calm them down somewhat?

  • when walking my dog,he sometimes barks at passing cars?

nearly everywhere we walk there are cars so he's used to seeing them. 20 cars could go by and not a peep out of him, then all of a sudden he'll go for one. He always walks on the inside and if he moves out I say IN and he'll move back in to the wall. Just curious as to why this is?? Is it a protection thing.. A nervous thing?? When he does it I usually tell him NO and sit him down for a second to relax and then move on. Any other suggestion??

  • any hints on getting dog not to jump on counters!!?

My dog is 9mts old and is now big enough to get his two fronts paws on the counters and lick the counter too. Have cleaned them all down before bringing him in so there is no trace of food on them but he knows now that there might be something nice up there!! And I know HE knows he's being bold but really need some tips on getting him to stop.He is a collie/retriever cross and is a strong dog so don't want to get into a situation where i have to physically keep putting him down.

  • my dog is 7 mts old and he picks up everything in sight on walks?

and when out walking he sniffs every pole, bin or anywhere where another dog has urinated on.Also,he picks up nearly everything he comes across, including tissues and banana skins!!! Can usually get him to drop these but worried he'll end up eating something that'll make him I See lots of other dogs out walking and they don't seem to do this, well at least not eating everything they come across on the ground. Know this is usual doggie behaviour but was wondering if they grow out of it eventually? Ta.

  • SENDING LONG TXT MESSAGES ON SAMSUNG GALAXY S?

Hi..I got a samsung Galaxy Plus and can only send short text messages for some reason. Very frustrating!! If my message goes on to a second page it will not send, comes back as failed. For most messages this is not a problem but sometimes I might only be one or two words over and it won't send.A bit annoying trying to say everything in one short message, without having to send a 2nd or 3rd one to finish what i need to say. Also know I could just ring the person but that's not the point!

  • My dog is a 6 mt old Collie/Retriever x. His coat is healthy but how can i make it better?

I was thinking of adding sardines to his diet, but wasn't too sure on how much or how many..maybe once a week?? Also,I'm already putting a special oil in his food once a day to help promote an even better coat.

    Thank.

  • I want our dog to go out side if i need to leave the house, but he just sits and looks up at me and won't budge?

I say OUT and I know he knows what i'm saying but he just won't move.He enjoys being outside when he is out but it's becoming difficult to get him to go out on command.Same happening now when he has to go to bed.Think he wants to be around us the whole time but when he is outside on his own and when we do get him to go to bed there's not a peep outta him..no barking or whining. This is not about potty training as he's already potty trained, its just to get him to go out side if we need to leave the house.
