  • Panicking and fears are driving me crazy. I can't get a good nights sleep. How do I learn to live with this?

I'm a guy in my 50's and seem to be developing some very scary fears that keep me up at night. I have health issues with my eyes(vertigo) and its left me terrified I'm going to be blind. I also suffer from another condition that causes uncontrolled nose bleeds. Blood goes everywhere and this terrifies me. On top of this the expense of care would leave me homeless. So how do I live with this?

  • What can be done to stop this?

the ad gurus on the web are really starting to make web surfing so annoying. Now ads load into a page while you're reading an article. it shifts the page so you have to look for where you were.

  • Does it anger you that you buy a computer today & there is no word processing program, spreadsheet You can't do much except browse, shop?

In the 90's you had MS word and excel to actually use the power of a computer to get something accomplished. Today it takes 2, 3 more clicks to do the same thing years ago. I am so much less productive today than I was 15 yrs ago with 8mb hard drives with 2 mb ram

  • To crash or not to crash?

If your company was having a Christmas lunch on site but you weren't personally invited by the organizer but everyone else in your office area was would you go? Everyone that was invited had to pay small amount. I probably won't go cause now I feel like I'm not wanted there. I am a poor conversationalist.

  • Did I just never grieve properly?

Tonight I'm feeling really down about loosing my grandmother. I occasionally get this feeling and even tear up at thoughts of her but Its been over a year. when I've thought about her death I generally get angry cause she suffered for 2 weeks and there were caring things I could and should have done to make her more comfortable in her last days. I loved her so much and failed her at her most needed time. I'm a 50+ yr old guy and the hurt and guilt bothers me and I just can't accept the way she went.

  • I wasting away, how do I get my ambition back?

I work all the time and when I don't I come home and stay home. I used to go out all the time. Loved the outdoors, visiting the city, going to events. I enjoyed my weekends out exploring or doing some kind of activity but it seems for 2 reasons I sit home and mope. My job is terrible and there is no future there for me but I haven't found another after looking hard for some time. I'm making probably 25% less than what I should for what I do but the work politics situation is such that I will never get anywhere where I'm at. Financial security is lacking now. Add to this, a medical condition(vertigo) has robbed me off my favorite activity. I've been depressed before to the point of attempts if you know what I mean but this different. That ridiculousness never visits me anymore. I live right near the beach and never go unless its at night when no one else is down there. I just feel beaten, tired and like I can't enjoy anything anymore. I've always been a bit recluse but this is maxing out.

  • Would you bury the hatchet?

If someone treated you real bad but never apologizes or admits to it but does stop the behavior and appears to want to at least just be nice would you let their bad behavior slide? This is in reference to my supervisor trying to get me fired but not having the authority to do it. Her purpose was to remove me to promote her married lover.

  • Is my chance gone because of this embarrassing event?

I like the cleaning lady at work. Well, I was in a men's room stall doing my business when I heard the bathroom door open and someone come in. I'm saying to myself "my luck its probably her" . Suddenly though I had an uncontrollable explosive bathroom experience that was terrible. The bathroom door opened again. When I was finally done I walked out and she was standing right there waiting to come in to clean.....No chance now?

  • Boss taking small group out to lunch...will I alienate myself within the group if I don't go?

Boss is buying our small group lunch. I can't stand my boss and she doesn't like me either. She's tried to get me to quit, get me fired but doesn't have authority enough. She's been caught lying about me. She won't speak to me as she has others in our group delegate to me my work. We can't stand even being in the same room and I do not want to sit for an hour at a restaurant with her. Can I skip the lunch?

  • does she hate me? is she just uncomfortable? I don't understand her?

woman at work is kind of touchy and close with others. With me she has problems. She walked up to me and reached out to put her hand on my shoulder but stopped in mid air. She still stands very close to me when she talks and will casually let her shoulder touch and rest on mine. She very obviously though has a crush on another coworker. How do I make her more comfortable around me. I'm not a big scary guy.

  • My boss has it in for me because I know about her affair with married coworker. Do I tell her lay off or else?

She's single(boss) and he's married. She has indicated in not so direct terms but easy to decipher that she wants me replaced and is clearly working on it. I'm tempted to tell her if she gets rid of me I'll blow the whistle or at the minimum tell her to her face that her favoritism towards her "crush" is the root of the discontent between us. I am looking for another job as I know that is the best option but I've got basically 10 days to decide blast her or take a whipping and leave without a spine.

  • How do you deal with a boss that dwnplays your contributions to bolster the lovers who happens to a coworker?

My boss(a single woman) is fooling with a coworker that is married. My boss downplays my contributions to upper management and she is clearly trying to weed me out so she promote her crush. I am left out of meetings, always learn about team changes and programs by accident. I am looking for a job but have not found one yet. Do I tell upper management and show them evidence of her leaving me out? I can't prove the fling because that would require way too much and they have gotten more savy about hiding it at work.

  • If you lost your job because a married cowrker got favortism while dating boss would you seek any revenge?

My boss(female) has a crush on male married coworker....I trained him!!! She leaned all credit his way while I got methodically bad mouthed by him and maybe even her behind my back. Now I'm being phased out while she pumps his value. I want his wife to find out at minimum. Am I a bad person for wanting that? I know I won't do it but the thought crosses my mind.

  • How do I handle my coworker (male) that is screwing my boss (female)?

He is married she is single. They obviously tell each other everything about what everyone says in the small department. I've found several times she has told him things well in advance of letting the group know. She also told him things she promised me she would keep private. He has her wrapped around his finger as she's absolutely bonkers over him. He is a liar and master manipulator. He wears a freindly mask but decieves for his own motivations. My problem is I ignore this guy because I don't want him going to the boss(his lover) giving his version of things. It creates very awkward moments as he tries to converse with me but I always side swipe it. Are jobs require we work together and that's not happening well enough so they hired someone to take over some of my duties so now their fkng is causing me to loose my job. I am looking for a new job to get out of this situation but not having any luck. I'm to the point I think I may need to go to personnel but I don't have visible physical proof of their relationship and will probably get laughed out as a nut case.

  • Have you ever felt the need to thank the answer community for helping you?

Share your reason? m Here's mine:

I have been obessesed with my coworker/boss. She is beautiful in so many many ways but she is shackin with a coworker that is married and it breaks my heart. I knew all along that part of the problem was me being too attracted to her and my jealousy about him getting the girl I like all the while he's married really made me feel like a failure and steamed me too. He knew I was attracted as well and coyly rubbed it in all while he's getting bennies from her with her being the boss and me having to train him. But tonight I went through the archives on "how to get over an obession" and found some great answers. I'll try many of them and do my best to ignore that attraction now. I recognized the need to get away and had my station moved at work previously. Thanks to the Answer community I have a new goal of leaving her behind as I pursue a healthier life again.

  • Are people that live on the coast (beach people) more at ease and friendly than others?

When I walk around my beach community people openly say hi and are very friendly but in towns I find them a little more uptight. Anyone else feel this way?

  • I caught my boss holding hands with my coworker. Would this situation bother you?

The coworker is married and they are obviously starting up a fling but I found the hand holding at work unsettling. Because they were doing "a task" together they didn't think anyone would notice but it was very obvious.
