Buying and storing hundreds of lbs of table salt seems impractical to me, but I always have >100 lbs of softener salt in my water softener in the basement. Any preppers out there?

Imagine you're arguing against 150 million democrats and you are trying to prove that Freedom is more important than big government "protecting" us from ourselves -- the world is watching. Go!

To me, conservative means you're fiscally, constitutionally, and defensively minded. Republicans in congress are not conservative. Agree or disagree.

I'm a libertarian, and I'm curious how I can be in the same "conservative" group as the republican theocrats, anti-gays, pro-life, war-mongers. The things the federal government has become involved in scares me. Why should the federal government have anything to do with religion? gay-rights? marriage? policing the world? Drug wars? Really???

I want small federal government (power with the states and the people), no income tax (at the federal level), all of my constitutional rights, without the government telling me what I can and can't do to my own body.

I AM a conservative. I think the government should stay out of people's lives. I'm not rich. I don't think that the "rich" should pay a higher PERCENTAGE in taxes than me. That's the beauty of PERCENTAGES, if I pay 15% of $30,000 and a rich guy pays 15% of 1,000,000 -- he's paying "his fair share".

Why is it that I have to be lumped into the same group as these other "conservatives"? Why can't we leave the government small, keep what we earn, and take care of ourselves?? People want to be gay, I say FINE, why should I care?? Women want to get an abortion, I say it's her CHOICE, she'll have to live with it the rest of her life. People want to be Christian/Muslim/Etc., I say good for you. Other countries want to bomb and kill each other, why are we involved? If everyone could start taking care of themselves, rather than expecting someone to take care of them we'd be in a much better place!

What happened to the term CONSERVATIVE?
