1 AnswerGarden & Landscape1 decade agoWhere can I purchase a "water globe" for a center piece?
I am looking for one of those "old fashion" "water globes". It is a clear glass globe about the size of a bowling ball with a heavy metal base that screws on with many sharp spikes. You take "cut" flowers, impail them on the spikes, fill the globe with cold water and screw the base back on and then stand it upright in the center of a table. The flowers last a long time.

2 AnswersGarden & Landscape1 decade agoClimbing rose die back each winter.?
My Sombreuil climbing rose gets a minimum of 6-8 hrs of sun a day, and the lower portion of the plant has multitude of flowers. However there are no flowers on the climbing canes and they appear to die back to about 1 foot off of the ground. These plants are rated for my zone (5). Will try monthly fertilizing and see what happens. Thank you all!!
1 AnswerGarden & Landscape1 decade agoProblem with climbing roses?
I have 4 4year old Sombreil climbing roses. By the end of the growing season, I always have 3-5 canes over 7 ft. tall on the trelles with no flowers. Each following year, there is no new growth on these long canes, and I'm forced to cut them back, only to have this happen again the following year. What if anything am I doing wrong. I am in zone 5, and mulch the plant leaving the canes up on the trelles over winter.
