I'm a former radio announcer, broadcast engineer, and production engineer. I spent 8 years designing and building automated lighting products, and got to spend some amazing time on the road with great bands proving them out. I'm now a Senior Electronics Tech managing an Engineering Support team in Austin, TX. I've also been a musician the majority of my life. I'm currently playing guitar in a classic rock band, and bass in an alternative rock/cover trio. I work on my own gear, design my own sound systems, and work on other folks gear when they need it. This is where I get to share what I've learned over the years. However, after answering over 3000 questions, I will no longer address anything that has the phrase "Cheapest and best" or some variant in it.
