  • When to seek emergency medical attention for UTI/kidney infection?

I was recently diagnosed with a UTI. After two different rounds of antibiotics I am still having moderate pain on and off in both of my sides and my lower back. I am afraid that it is actually a kidney infection or something more serious. Last night the pain in my side was keeping me awake. Should I go to the ER or wait for my follow up appointment with my physician? Other symptoms are nauseua, headache, slight fatigue/dizziness, dry mouth and loose BM. No fever or vomiting but feeling bad enough to keep me home from work.

  • Cutting Nicoderm CQ patches?

I'm trying to quit smoking after 3.5 years. Yesterday I put on my first patch (21mg) and after a few hours felt like I was going to vomit/faint so I took it off for the night and this morning I cut about 1/3 of the patch off and put the 2/3 piece on. Is this safe/effective?

Also: I'm scared about what's going to happen when I go to work. I have never had a job where I didn't take smoke breaks. Any tips on what to do during 5-minute breaks? (I need them because I stare at a computer screen all day at work and if I don't take little breaks I kinda start to lose it).

Any other positive words or advice are totally welcome! Quitters, how did you do it??

  • How can you tell if you've got a dry socket?

I had my wisdom teeth out Friday morning it's now Monday afternoon, I'm having a little pain but nothing unbearable (the vicodin is probably helping). What I'm wondering is how do you know if you've got dry sockets...what is the pain like, is it gradual or sudden onset, when does it usually occur, etc. Please be as detailed as possible! I'm just paranoid and want to make sure my healing process is going normally :)

  • What is the best free word processor for Mac?

It's stupid that they only come with TextEdit unless you buy iWork. I'm looking to download a free word processor for my Macbook that has more features and is more user-friendly than TextEdit. Preferably not just a free trial (I could figure that out on my own)! Best answer for real help.

  • Who thinks the election process is too long?

I feel like the presidential campaigns are way too long. We should be ready to vote now. Maybe back in the day it made sense because it took longer to tour the whole country but now I'm just sick of the back and forth banter, it's getting increasingly desperate. I'm hoping for a refreshing debate tonight! But I won't hold my breath.

  • How do you get rid of warning pop ups in Windows Vista?

I just got Windows Vista on my computer at work, and every time I go to move a file into a different folder a window pops up and asks me if I'm sure I want to do this. Is there any way to get rid of this? It's really annoying. I couldn't find anything about it in the folder options or troubleshooting.
