My 19 year old daughter knows that such things as thong underwear are diametrically opposed to the values of our family. When I saw them in her room in plain site I simply took them and threw them out. No threats or confrontations - certain things are not allowed and she knows that.

She solicited support from her friends and even convinced her mom that a father throwing them out was wrong and somehow 'creepy'. I don't see how it differed from finding alcohol, marijuana, birth control pornography or any other objectionable thing.

My feeling is that my wife should have supported my decision without reservation and her failure to do so will ultimately confuse and harm our daughter - what do you think?

When my three boys and oldest daughter turned 18 it what just another day and they remained respectful until they either turned 21 or moved out of the house. For some reason my youngest daughter declared her independence at 18 and the last year and a half have been a struggle. She quotes her friends as authorities on the subject. Apparently most of their parents allow these kids to pretty much do as they please once they turn 18. Your thoughts on when good parenting ends.

Knowing that birth control is never 100% effective and carries horrible health risks and does not protect against many incurable STD's, some of which cause cervical cancer, safe sex seems a lie. What is so important that allows us to ruin women's lives based on media fueled mis-truths other than corporate greed?
