My german sheppard mix jumps my fence in the backyard. It's only four foot so for a jumper like him I suppose its nothing O.O. He gets plenty of walks and long periods of bonding time with me and my family which include playtime and training time. I can't be with him 24/7 Heck I spend most of the day with him. I just read online that I can use "PVC plastic piping or large rubber tubes, at least 5 to 6 inches in diameter, cut lengthwise down the center. Place them along the top of all of your fence. This makes a curved, slippery surface that a dog cannot get a grip on to get over the top of the fence." Has anyone tried this or do they think this will work?

What is your opinion about dogs being on tie outs? Good or Bad?

I'm training my dog to be in the AKC Rally Competition next year. It's an obedience competition and I'm entering him in for level one. I don't really know if the dog has to know all obedience commands or just certain ones. Please help!!!

So I have trained my dog heel, come, stay, sit, lay, up and I am now teaching him circle. He also knows how to walk well on the leash. Is there anything I'm missing? I've never been to any of these trials so I don't know what all they have to learn.

I have a German Sheppard/ Collie mix and I have been walking him once a day but it doesn't seem to be enough since he now escapes my yard. I do play with him but I adopted him and he was abused and seems to have never had toys so he doesn't play with them long, I'm slowly trying to get him to adapt to toys. For his breed and for his size ( which is medium) how often or long should I walk him? Also he is a year old.
