  • Can I withdraw money from a joint account after papers for an uncontested divorce have been filed?

So my husband and I decided to have an uncontested divorce. We figured we would settle things amongst ourselves. For the past 5 years I was a stay at home mom. Well he pretty much left me with nothing. He took the guns, the house, the cars, all the money in the accounts, and I only got my car and the clothes on my back. I didn't want to drag my kids through the dirt and I couldn't afford to have a contested divorce. Well, we still have joint accounts together and our divorce is not finalized. He hasn't started paying me child support either because it hasn't gone to the judge yet. I have been buying my kids some new clothes using money from checking, and I took $400 from our joint savings account for safe keeping. Well he went ballistic. He said he was going to tell his lawyer and kept making all these threats against me. Said he isn't going to pay his first months child support because I spent all this money. Was I wrong? I mean I don't want to get in trouble with the law or anything.

  • Am I just overlooking his qualities or is he really a bad father?

So my husband decided he wanted to get a divorce. He said his reasonings were because I made him feel like a bad father. He said I was always putting him down. Granted there were times I tried to give him constructive criticism, but he never wanted my advice. I never told him to not be a father, but he wants to blame me for him not helping. I needed his help as much as possible. I was a nervous new mom like most. I spent 24/7 with my kids taking care of them, so it's not like I wasn't doing my part. For him, anytime I asked for help he would make comments about how I managed when he wasn't around. He hardly ever fed them or changed their diapers, he NEVER got up at night with them, and it seemed like he couldn't get off his phone long enough to give them the attention that they needed. When he would come home from long trips (he travelled for his job) he would give them like 15 minutes of his time and then totally check himself out. If they needed something, they would come to me.

  • Can I get an FHA loan again?

So my husband decided he wants to get a divorce. We currently have a home with an FHA loan. We were first time home buyers. We had refinanced and they took me off the home loan. I don't really know much about real estate. I just remember signing a bunch of papers, but don't really remember anything else. My soon to be ex husband plans on selling the home we had because he wont be able to afford it while paying for child support. I just want to know that in the next few years when I get back on my feet again if I can get another FHA loan. I was talking it over with family and they all said you can only get an FHA loan as a first time home buyer. I would like to buy my kids a home some day, but I would like to know what kind of loan I would be eligible for and what kind of down payment I would need.

  • How to tell a family member I just met that they can't come to my daughters birthday party?

I recently came in contact with one of my cousins on my dad's side of the family, whom I have never met. My dad never really liked his family because they always asked him for money, and as he put it "they're a bunch of lazy *effers*!" Anyway, my older sister needed to know some medical information about my dad's side of the family, which he doesn't know much about. After some research, I had found one of my cousins on FB. I started talking to him, added him onto my friends list just to be nice. Well, I mentioned something about my daughter's first birthday and sending out invites, not thinking anything of it. Then, I had him trying to invite himself to my daughters party. I never even met the guy! I just don't feel comfortable inviting a complete stranger to my daughters party. I have been trying to keep my distance because I really don't want to get that involved with that side of the family. How in the world can I tell him he isn't invited? I haven't replied to his request on where its at or anything. I just don't know what to say.

  • Mother in law making a big deal out of 3 year old liking the color pink?

I always try and encourage my son to be himself. His favorite color is pink and sometimes he picks out Disney princess stuff that he wants (ie princess fruit gummies, princess bubble bath, and other princess themed foods). He also likes Mickey Mouse, Disney cars, and jake and the never land pirates as well. My mother in law seems to have a bit of a problem with his fascination with pink. We went to the mall to go shopping. While we were there, she offered to get him one of those carts that look like cars that he can ride in. They had school bus looking ones, police cars, and pink ones that say princess on it. He really wanted the pink one, even with her continuous nagging and persuasion to get a different one. I just want my kid to be happy, and she on the other hand was making something else out of it. Was I wrong?

  • Should I confront my mother or just let her comments go?

My mom and I have always had a strained relationship. Not once has she ever complimented me or told me how proud she is of me. My brother and I didn't have much sibling rivalry, but he was definitely the favorite and always receiving praise for his small achievements. I'm 24 now and have a family of my own and live in another state. All she ever does is ridicule me and criticize me. She always tells me how horrible of a teenager I was and has this idea that I'm going to pull some crap and ruin my kids lives. I have really strained to have a relationship with her, and if it weren't for my kids, I probably wouldn't speak to her at all. Lately, I have been looking at her facebook page and I have seen a lot of praise for my brother, but it seems like every opportunity she gets, she has to degrade me. I'm not even friends with her on fb anymore because she always would get on my page and embarrass the crap out of me with her family drama. Anyways, she has posted a few things on her facebook, degrading me, and degrading my father. She divorced him 23 years ago, but still cannot be civil when it comes to him....not even when my brother and I were little. Should I just let it go, or should I confront her about what she has to say? I'm just so sick of being the "disappointment" and tired of her telling her friends that I was such a horrible daughter and that my father was a deadbeat worthless p.o.s.

  • How to get my toddler son to be more independent?

My 2 1/2 year old son is incredibly clingy. If I. Am not paying 100% attention to him, he has a meltdown. Also, at night he depends on me to get him to sleep. I can't be one of those parents that let's my kid cry in his room until he passes. I have always been very attentive to his needs, but I'm now 6 months pregnant with our second child. My husband travels for his job, so a huge majority of the time its going to just be me and the kids. Is there any way I can help to encourage my son to entertain himself for a little while without making him feel left out? Also, any useful tips on how he can get himself to sleep without me having to hold him till he passes out? He's just so used to being the baby.

  • If our claim with our insurance company was more than the contractors bid, do we have to give back the extra $?

We have insurance through state farm. Last year our house had a lot of wind damage from a strong storm that came through. I hired a contractor who said they would help us work with our insurance company. Well needless to say, after they found out our insurance wasn't going to buy us a brand new roof, they lost interest and wouldn't answer or return my calls. I had 2 assessments done on my house and recieved about $2500 from our insurance. I recently had another contractor come and give me a bid, which is for only about $1000. So do I have to give the extra money back to my insurance company?

  • Any other pregnant women irritable instead of emotional?

I'm 16 weeks pregnant with our second child and instead of being a crying bumbling mess, I'm just really irritable. It seems like everything annoys me and I'm constantly yelling all the time. I seem more angry than anything. Is this normal? I expected to be emotional and crying like I was with my son, but I'm not.

  • what are those etched things you lay the paper on and color over to create an image?

I remember when i was a little kid coloring over these etched drawings. You laid a paper on top of it and colored the paper and the image from the etching underneath would show up. What are these things called? I have been wanting to buy some online, but don't know what to search for.

  • how many ultrasounds does your insurance cover?

My insurance will only cover 1 ultrasound. A lot of my friends had multiple ultrasounds done. I was just wondering how many ultrasounds other women were allowed. Do people using public aid insurance get more ultrasounds?

  • Are there any pre existing conditions or pregnancy complications that would cause excessive weight gain?

During my pregnancy with my first child I gained 90 lbs. I quit smoking and just assumed that was the cause for my excess weight gain. Now I'm pregnant with my second and have been eating a lot healthier and working out and the weight is already starting to pile on. I have gained 10 lbs and I'm only 5 weeks. Most of the weight piled on during week 3 and 4. Is there anything that could cause this? My doctor is making it out to be that I'm lazy or not eating right, but I have been eating right and working out and its just piling on.

  • what are some things i can give my toddler son to entertain himself while im at the ob/gyn?

My husband travels for his job and I'm a stay at home mom. I don't have family or friends nearby to watch my son. I have to bring him to the doctor with me. They want me to fill out a questionaire on their computer, which they said will take about 30 mins. What sort of things can I give him to entertain himself while I fill out the stupid questionaires. I say stupid because its a new doctor, and instead of tranferring my records from my former doctor, they want me to fill out all the information.

  • Question for cosleeping/bedsharing parents with more than one child?

My son is 2 years old and has coslept with me since day one. We just found out were expecting our 2nd child. I was just wondering what other cosleeping parents did when their second child came along. I have some ideas on what I can do, but I was just curious what other cosleeping parents did.

  • what things did you worry about with your second pregnancy?

We just found out were expecting again. I have been so worried about how I am going to get any sleep and how I'm going to cope with caring for a toddler and a newborn. My husband works and is gone several weeks at a time. We live far away from family, so I'm pretty much secluded in my own house. My toddler son is very restless and still wakes up several times a night.
