  • One child or Two!!?

SHORT Q: What are your views on it??

As the title says really, myself and my partner really cant decide wether to have another child or not! Our baby is currently 11 months old (1yr in May). The only thing we can decide is that IF we have another we don't want more than a 2yr gap so we would need to concieve by/in July'14 not leaving us a huge amount of time to decide!

Reasons not to have another is that having two will be alot more stress, they might argue and not get along, things will take alot more time, everything will cost alot more money and theres certain things we wont be able to do like on my own I cant take a 2yr old and a newborn swimming unless I have a friend or someone with me who has a pair of hands free! Im worried our current daughter will be left out or jealous?

Reasons to have another is that our baby will have someone close to her, more so later on in life. I used to argue with my 2 sisters which is partly putting me off having another however, I get on really well with my older sister now we are older and I think i would be lonely without her? We still have our odd argument but shes always there for me when i need someone to talk too etc.. not having another baby is making me feel selfish as i will be depriving my baby from having this relationship :( Even in the teenage years i was grateful for my sister as she was the one i went to for help about school, boys, period, sex etc... as no one wants to talk to parents or friends about that do you lol

  • To have a second child or just the one!? Confused & Unsure! :(?

My daughter is currently 9.5 months old and we can't decide wether to have another baby or not. All i know is that if we have another i dont want more than a 2 year gap between them so i would need to be pregnant by June 2014 to prevent there being larger than a two year gap so we still have a fair bit of time to decide. I've being thinking of pro's and con's and theres alot more con's ie. arguing, stress, money, space etc.. but then the happy times can easily out weigh the bad cant they!

Im worried my daughter will be loney as a single child? then on the otherside im worried she might not get along with a sibling.

My partner says he wants one but im not sure if hes saying that because he thinks that what i want or if he genuinly wants one- he just says its up to me as hes happy either way! Hes also the typical bloke and part of him would love a baby boy!

Anyone else in the same boat or has been in the same situation and not sure what to do?

All opinions and experiences are appreciated xx

  • Did you go over your due date?

If so, by how many days? and did you do any thing to help get labour going?

I was due yesterday (29/04/13) but still no signs :( Had a 'romantic evening' with the other half which caused cramps and braxton hicks contractions but that was all :(

  • 37.5 Weeks pregnant... feeling really ill :(?

Im 38 weeks on 15/04/13. Yesterday (10/04/13) I had really bad headaches and i was boiling hot but when i rang the midwife she said hot flushes were normal. I was up pretty much all night sweating and feeling ill and today (11/04/13) I've been feeling crap again but i've been throwing up this morning- literally everything that ive eaten and drunk has come up (sorry for the gory details). I keep getting really bad period like pains which ive had on and off for a few weeks which ive been told are just braxton hicks contractions but theyre quite painful. Also today i've had some itchy spots come up on the bottom half of my bump. I use palmers cocoa butter for stretch marks to help prevent them but i've been using that for a month so i dont think that could be causing them? Anyone else get ill around this far along? I would ring the midwife again but all they do is say 'keep an eye on it' which frustrates the hell out of me because thats really no help! Thanks in advance x

  • IBS or Stomach Pain 32 Weeks Pregnant..?

im 32 weeks pregnant (33 weeks on 11/03/13) and last night i woke up at 5am with severe stomach pains which lasted for an hour or so until i fell asleep again. I woke up again at 9am with the pain and now at 12.20pm in the afternoon im still having the pain. I have always suffered with IBS (irritable bowl syndrome) but its been better since ive been pregnant and it hasnt felt like this pain before so i dont think its that?

The doctors and midwife dont have a clue they just say to keep an eye onit which isnt any help!!

  • Stretch Mark prevention & cure?

I have noticed im begging to gain a few stretch marks round the sides of my boobs and some kind of on my butt. Im 30.5 weeks preggo so i've done well to get this far without gaining any but im looking for peoples experiences with what you have used to prevent, fade and helped to cure your stretch marks? I've heard of the bio oils, body butters etc... but im not sure which one to use as there is so many.

oo also, does any one have any tips on how to cope with back pain? i get it really bad at night time and the only thing i can find so far that helps is to place a hot water bottle against my back.

Thank you in advance for the replies :) x

  • Social Services- 17 and pregnant UK?

I'm currently 17 and 26 weeks pregnant, my baby girl is due in April and i will be 18 a month before my baby is here. Social services have rung me for some unknown reason and want to come to my house to talk to me and my partner. She said if i refused to give her my address and cooperate then she would get my address from another source! What i need to know is what rights do they have? can they really force me to see them? why do they want to see me? will they have to visit again? im so angry, just because of my age it doesnt mean il be a bad mum! what rights do they have to come into my home, invade my personal life and question my abilities as a mother to be!? Any one else been through this?

  • girls/boys name Beau - opinions?

I have to ask why people have black and white opinions on this name?

Some sites people are head over heals in love with Beau being a beautiful and unique girls name however on other sites people are aggressive, defensive and are adament that its a boys name only.

Im just curious to know why theres such dispute over this name, i know its french for handsome, making it a masculine word but in the UK why must it remain classed as a boys name in some peoples opinions? I personally like the name for either a boy or girl so im just eager to hear peoples views onit aswell :)

  • Issues with family & what to do about contact with baby?

I have two main issues that i would like peoples opinions on please :)

issue 1: My mum and step dad are both smokers and they dont respect the fact i dont want to be around them smoking while im pregnant so when i visit them i always have to go in a different room while they smoke. The issue i have is i dont want them coming round my house or holding my baby when shes born due to passive smoking and the harm it can do to my baby. I've mentioned it to them but they think im being stupid and that smoking cant harm the baby etc.. even though the midwife had expressed her concerns with smokers around babies and pregnant women! any ideas what to do or the best way around it?

issue 2: me and my older sister have fallen out big time and what shes said and done is unforgiveable in my eyes so i want nothing more to do with her, when my baby is born i dont know what to do. Letting her see my baby will be letting her in my life and i dont really want someone bitter and narrow minded like her in my childs life but i cant help but thinking that its up to my baby who she sees although she cant decide that til shes alot older so i dont know what to do while shes a bubba.

All opinions welcome and appreciated, thanks :)
