  • How to deal with long hair?

So I’m African American and have typical thick curly hair that’s super soft. I’m a guy and all my 26 years of life have I had the same hair style, a bald fade. I’ve only cut my hair twice this year in 2020. Once in April (myself, a disaster I’ll never do again) and again in August (a barber). Because of COVID I do not feel comfortable getting another hair cut. So my plan is to grow my hair out long enough to rock a Afro for a while and then maybe braid it to cornrows when it’s longer. Until then what products like moisturizers and conditioners should I get? Combing my hair hurts so bad when it’s dry and I find that I shed a lot. Tips?

  • Air pods not working do phone calls?

Whenever I’m on the phone I can hear the caller but the other caller cannot hear me. I’ve unpaired and repaired them. I reset my phone and they still won’t work. I have a iPhone XR and my phone hasn’t worked normally since I upgraded to iOS 14. My mom is having a similar issue with her AirPods. She’s also running the latest upgraded version of iOS 14. She has a iPhone 11 Pro. Any thoughts?

  • Emergency nursing home placement?

I’m so fustrated. So my family is so selfish and inconsiderate. Since my grandpa died a few years ago my very elderly grandmother has been living with my mom and I. My mom worked at home and I had out of home work. Well 2020 happened and my mom hasn’t lost her job but her hours have been severely cut. She had a hard time finding a job. In the mean time we decided it was time to send grandma to a home as her needs are increasing and both of us will be out of the house all day. We started this process at the end of May. Every place we have tried has a long wait list. My grandmother has 4 other children and none of them can or want to help us. My grandmother is also not easy to get along with but at this point we’re desperate. My mom found a  new job and has to go to location next Monday. Our latest facility who was accepting patients by oct 1 just fell through. Since she can’t be alone we don’t know what to do. I can only take off a week. Also my mom her primary care giver really needs this job or else all of us will be evicted from our home and our car will be repossessed (we split rent 2 ways). Is there literally a place we can send her now? It’s urgent

  • Buying my first house?

So I have never done this before and I have no idea where to start. First of all I live with my mother and grandmother. We live currently in a 3 bedroom apartment. We’re looking to move because every apartment we have had has seriously sucked (neighbors, vandalism, broken appliances, bugs ect.) and they are super expensive in rent (Over $1500 per month in Ohio). I’m 26 and my mother does not have good credit at all and my grandmother doesn’t have a lot because she has no credit open and she’s 90. I didn’t want to buy a house because I wanted to move away from them but that’s not happening anytime soon as both need my help. But anyway my credit score is over 730 but my problem is I have a car loan and student loans against me as well as small credit card debt. I’m not sure if I qualify to even apply for a mortgage due to my debts. I’ve worked at my job for over 4 years and average only 40k per year. Our lease isn’t over until April 2021 so I have some time but what do you suggest I do?

  • Someone hit my parked car. Next steps or advice?

So this is happening to me again but the person didn’t run thankfully ugh! I live in an apartment and my neighbor is moving and backed a uhaul into my 2018 Ford Fiesta. The damage is to the bumper, tail light, and rear panel but it’s severe looking considering the size of the car vs the truck. The police wouldn’t come to file a report because the accident occurred on private property and because of Covid-19. I am the legal vehicle owner however it’s my moms car so she was hysterical. I exchanged info with him and made a claim with uhaul. The truck has little damage with exception of black paint steaks from my black car. I took pictures also. I contacted my insurance also so they are aware I’m pursuing the other party’s insurance for compensation. Anything else I should or can do?

  • Do soft tops leak less for Jeep Wranglers?

Ok so I have a 2019 Jeep Wrangler 2 door hard top. It was my dream car to have one of these. And after driving basic cars for so long it took me a while to get used to it’s quirks. Something I know isn’t normal is the roof leaking every time it rains. I took the front panels off only a few times since taking delivery of this car in July mainly because it was such a hot and miserable summer and now it’s too cold. The panels are in place and not damaged so there shouldn’t be any leaks. However the front of the panels against the windshield leak when it rains. More so when it’s parked and it has rained. Also water leaks in from the back window. Water drips on the inside of the seal and I find myself constantly turning on the rear wiper to only discover all that water is inside. I took the car in to the dealer last month concerning these issues. They gave me advice and sent me on my way. I have another appt scheduled Tuesday and I hope they fix this. I live in a apartment so I don’t have a garage it will always be outside. Even in the snow which I’m also worried about. I was thinking are the soft tops better? If so I’m getting one.

  • Buying a used car?

So I had my fun. I leased a Jeep Wrangler a few years ago and it’s my most favorite car I’ve had the experience of having. I turn the car in next month. I’m 26 and still single so I technically could lease another one but I know leasing is stupid and I won’t do it again. I’m looking for something simple to drive with some updated tech and a sunroof. I was thinking of something like a used Civic. I was looking to spend around 16k. I have 10k in savings I’ll put down and just finance the rest for like a year to pay it off quickly. Thoughts? Maybe a different car?

  • I don’t want to lose weight?

So I’m afraid to go to the doctor in a few weeks for annual check up and prescription refill. Last year when I went I had gained significant weight compared to the year before. Going from 107lbs to around 140lbs my doctor made me feel so bad about gaining weight. Then she said I need to watch my diet and eat healthy blah blah. I gained the weight because I was tired of looking so skinny and bony. Well as of right now I haven’t changed my diet but i wasn’t trying to gain any more weight but right now I’m 167lbs and overweight for a guy 5’6 tall. Maybe I’m crazy but I love my curvier figure and I can’t get over how soft my body feels. I’m going to try not to gain anymore but I don’t want to lose any either. Is there a way to eat healthy and not lose weight?

  • Concerned about sudden possible mental illness.?

So my grandma is 89 and she’s been living with my mom and I for almost 2 years since my grandpa died. She doesn’t do much usually scoots about the house usually talking to her friends in the phone and watching her soap operas. But she refuses to leave the house because she’s afraid of falling which at her age is understandable. However over the last week she’s been acting alarmingly weird. She’s been sleeping in the middle of the day all day. She has a tv in her room that’s usually on 24/7 and when she wakes up she keeps hallucinating that someone is in her room trying to get her or her friends are there or she just talks to herself. She’s not eating as much as usual either. She has hear problems controlled by meds and arthritis and that’s it nothing mental. She just had a check up last month and they ran tests nothing came back in her blood. I’m not sure but something is wrong and I don’t know what it is. She’s been talking to herself all day today in between sleeping and even called 911 and yes the police showed up! Like I don’t know what to do. She’s not showed signs of dementia until now and we have had her tested as a precaution.

  • What car is good for potholes?

I know this is an odd question but I need a car better suited for potholes. I currently drive a base model 2017 Ford Escape with steel wheels. I don’t particularly love the car but I refuse to get better rims because my city has god awful roads. My issue is I love to drive an explore states and my old car a 2010 Ford Focus i busted 3 tires and a strut on potholes. Among other things that’s a reason I got the Escape. The Escape does good as I’ve unintentially hit some big holes but it’s basacly a tall car. But I’m thinking a serious off roader like a Jeep Wrangler would handle rough roads better since it’s made for off road. What do you think?

  • I want to move out?

It’s complicated. So I grew up with a single mom who struggled financially but we made it through with just the minimum. My mom tends to spend and live above her means though and due to health problems she can’t work more than the standard 40 hrs a week at her office job. However it’s super awkward living with her now because I’m 24 I’m limited to who can come over/ stay the night. Currently she’s expressed she would like to see me go not in a mean way but in general conversation. But deep down I know she can’t afford to live on her own. Rent alone is $1400 a month after taxes she makes 2000 a month and her car is $350 a month. This is not including the electric and water and for her her medicine easily costing 200 a month. I’ve been trying to convince her to move but our apartment (we’ve been splitting rent for 6 years) is really nice and she won’t go. How should I talk about this?

  • Toyota Rav-4 or Corolla?

I’m currently driving a 2016 Ford Escape base model. It’s bare bones of course and has no tech. I recently paid it off and I know I probably shouldn’t jump right back into a car loan but this car is sooo boring. I must note nothing is wrong with my car it’s been so reliable. I know neither of these cars are cool but I’m totally in love with the 2019 versions of both of these cars. Full of tech and safety features. All I have is a backup camera and Bluetooth lol. Is it hard to go from a small CUV to a car? The corolla is cheaper and that’s only why I’m considering it. Or should I just keep my car longer?

  • Does anyone know what type of shipping can be held at FedEx or UPS store?

So I order personal products online all the time and I do make budget for them. However my mom and grandma also live at the same place so anytime a package arrives they are super nosy and wondering what it is and I don’t want to tell them so I lie. One company I ordered from used to shop ups and I always was able route to the store to avoid them. Now they ship fedex and the last order I tried to route wasn’t available to ship to the store. Anybody know if UPS, FedEx or even USPS ships to the UPS, USPS orFedEx store?

  • Will it cost a lot to add a driver to my insurance?

I’m 23 and drive a 2017 Ford Escape (base model). I’m insuranced through geico and have been for about 3 years now. I have been accident free and my monthly premium is 88 dollars a month. Due to finance problems my mom agreed to take over my car loan and in return drive her car which is a 2012 Honda Civic which I have done so many times. But I’m still required to keep insurance on the Escape as the car is still in my name. Considering she’s in her fifties and been accident free for 30 Plus years will my rate go up?

  • Gaming system for not serious gamers?

So in my early teens I was into video games heavy owning the ps2 and a game cube (circa 2002-07) and had a generous variety of games. I kind of grew out of that and switched into watching a lot of tv and YouTube as my hobby. I still have a Nintendo Ds/3ds and a older PSP but I didn’t play with either much. I had some extra money and I saw there was a sale on a Xbox one s so I bought it. I know it’s last years model but with the Xbox one x(Scorpio?) released do you think Xbox is keeping games for the series around for a while? Or did I waste money? I honestly just don’t know. Specs aren’t important to me I know it has 4K video playback but my tv is a old 32inch 1080 hdtv from a few years ago.

  • Remote Desktop slow?

Ok so at home I use WiFi a lot. Generally we have really good connection 100 mbps and I’m the only user in the home that sucks data a lot as I only stream with a roku player. My mom works from home though and she always thinks by me streaming WiFi it’s causing her Remote Desktop to be extremely slow. I’ve tested this theory out plenty times and usually it’s her connection that effects her speed not streaming movies. Does rds even consume much data?

  • Can a car loan company repossess my car?

I’m not sure but I was just thinking about it. I screwed myself royally in April when I thought I could afford a “new” car. I’m young and dumb at 23 whatever I know what I did wrong. However when I financed it I recently started a new adult job in February and I worked a part time job for about 5 years. The new job I started decided to downsize and I got laid off in May. For about a month I only worked my part time job until I found another part time retail job and I worked both all summer. I earned enough to live and make the payments. Luckily I found another adult job that I just started in September and I let go my part time job of 5 years mostly due to unnecessary stress. I kept the retail job as I felt bad for possibly screwing my boss over since I was just hired. But anyway I changed my jobs around a lot since signing the contract in April but i have early on every payment for the last 6 months. Can the finance company take my car from me because I’m “unstable”?

  • Are alloy rims or steel wheels better for bad roads?

I know it’s a weird question but I recently got a job that’s inner city. I live in the suburbs so streets are decent. However the streets getting to work which are unavoidable are just awful. I just know I’m going to bust a tire or worse my suspension. The job pays much better than I’ve ever made so quitting isn’t a option. My question is which rim is more resistant to damage? My car currently has steelies by the way.

  • Am I crazy or is my transmission having a issue?

My old car had a junk transmission that I drove for 2 years and in April I decided to buy a new car. It's a 2017 Ford Escape S. within the last month of driving it I shift into drive and take off. The car goes just fine in first gear then it pops into neutral and the car slows down until the car jolts because it put itself into second gear. Then shifts as usual unless I stop at a red light and it repeats itself again. It was very sporadic so I didnt think much of it however it's doing it a lot more over the last week. Also it's being sluggish on the highway which is a brand new issue. It goes but it doesn't have the spark it usually has that really gets it moving (to me it really does go fast considering it's a 4cyl CUV). I'm bringing it to the dealer do you think it's worth a mention or is this normal? I'm really not sure. No other symptoms or lights

  • iPhone screen dying?

I have a iPhone 6s Plus I bought a little over a year ago. I use it extensively so naturally it's worn but no physical damage except scratches. I noticed the top left corner of the LCD screen is bleeding. It's a small dark bubble and I was wondering if it will spread? I rarely drop it but I need it to last a little while longer as I don't have money to buy a new phone :(
