Is it possible to fast forward songs on itunes?
As I build my playlists, it is cumbersome to listen to a whole song (or through the intro) to see if I want to add it. And yes I am behind the times regarding bands and songs, so I am not sure about songs based on title.
1 AnswerSoftware1 decade agoWhat should I use to clean my new hardwood floors?
I have new Bruce pre-finnished oak hardwood floors. I have two young kids that have an uncanny knack for getting sticky stuff on the floors. I have been using a damp cloth for spot cleaning. I am getting lazy, and I would like to keep the floors clean and protected.
5 AnswersOther - Home & Garden1 decade agoIs there a plant that helps keep a fishbowl clean?
I've heard that there is a plant that helps keep a non-filtrated fishbowl clean. My daughter has a beta, and we have to change the stinky water about twice a week. Any advice is appreciated.
11 AnswersFish1 decade agoIdeas for an Elementary School running program?
My son's elementary school has a running program where the kids run laps during recess and have a laminated card punched after each lap. The goal was overall fitness, and 1/5th of the school ran 26.2 miles over the year. 11 ran over 100 miles (two of those over 200 miles).
We want to improve the overall program - so I appreciate ideas.
We also want to get some free swag for the kids from running or other companies -- specifically t-shirts for all and shoes for less advantaged kids. Any ideas here are appreciated as well.
Right now the program recognizes kids with medals for each 26.2 (different one) and a trophy for 100 miles. There is also a paper thermometer on the wall with milage increments and the kids names on paper feet at the appropriate level.
3 AnswersRunning1 decade agoWould you support a federal training and service requirement for unskilled immigrants?
If I have to give tax dollars for immigrant issues, I would like some used this way:
1. Volutary program for young men and women.
2. Up to 6 months of free English instruction with a sitpend.
3. Owe 18 months in Federal Service.
a. Fighting Forrest Fires/Clearing Parks
b. Responding to Natural Disasters.
c. Teaching English if so skilled.
d. Can volunteer for the military.
4. For the total of 24 months we could give citizenship and a GI Bill type benefit.
5. The US will have a more skillful, english speaking, and patriotic immigrant population.
8 AnswersImmigration1 decade agoWhat is the deal with the $1 bill for a border fence supposedly sitting unused?
It is my understanding that these funds have been appropriated, and the requirement is signed by the Congress and the President (read law). Is there some litigation holding it up? One would think the political capital was already spent pushing this bill through.
5 AnswersOther - Politics & Government1 decade agoWhich is better for the environment?
Is it better to continue to use my 14-year old vehicle with less than average gas mileage or buy a new vehicle that gets better mileage? I am still burning fuel either way, but a new car is built with additional materials from the earth, and causes pollution secondary to manufacture. If I could buy a car that didn't burn fossil fuels, and that I could fill-up/recharge easily I would go for it. I also wouldn't think a moment about buying a gas burning car if the MPG was somewhere close to 100.
I don't know much about the current materials being used to build green cars --- but I assume they don't materialize without a primary or secondary effect on the environment.
