3 AnswersBlues9 years agoReleased from Workers Comp, but still in pain? (New Jersey)?
My girlfriend was diagnosed with Carpal Tunnel by her Doctor, her Work refused to fill out the workers comp paperwork, so we had to get a lawyer. After we got a lawyer he got her job to fill out the paperwork and she received workers comp. She went to all the appointments and got all the test done. Finally she got surgery on both wrist, she began therapy.
After both surgeries she had neck pain and told her Doctor about it. He said he was going to release her and if the pain continued to call him in 2 weeks. A few days later the pain was too much so she called her Doctor and set up an appointment. He said that he has a feeling she has "Double Crush" and she needs to get her neck/spine checked out. He said that this is part of the original injury, and many people who get Carpal Tunnel get Double Crush as well. He said he wants her to get test on her neck and spine, and then look into therapy.
Since he released her a week earlier, now Workers Comp refuses to pay for the treatment and the test. She is going to lose her insurance because she can not return to work due to the pain. We told her lawyer and he said there is not much he can do. I don't understand any of this because, she had to stop working and received workers comp because of the pain and inability to use her hands due to carpal tunnel. She still has the pain, and can not use her hands because of the injury at work. So now she is losing her insurance and workers comp refuses to cover an extended claim, even though the doctor says the double crush is from the injury at work and is part of the Carpal Tunnel.
What can we do??
4 AnswersLaw & Ethics9 years agoWhat is up with Westboro Baptist Church?
Westboro Baptist Church likes to go around protesting soldier's funerals, and protesting gays. They say they are doing God's work and we are all going to hell. Maybe they should of read the Bible a little closer. People like this make the rest of the world look down on religion. I hope they like warm weather, because there is a special place in hell waiting for them. Do they really think they are doing gods work?

4 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoIf someone Verbally deceives you into a written contract, does that void the contract?
Before anything I am just asking a legal question. I know what I should of done, but I didn't. That being said, I bought a car from a dealership and asked the dealer I was looking for a car with low miles for around $2000. He showed me a car with 180,000 Miles on it, I told him that was way to high. He looked a little frustrated and then showed me another one. The odometer read 93,000 and it was advertised as "Low Mileage" (No I do not have the ad). He said it had 93,000 original miles on it, and that it had one owner. It was marked as $2800, we told him we only had $2000 cash. He said that would do. We went into the office and he said numerous times "You are getting a great deal, a truck with 93,000 miles on it for $2000 is a great deal" We where rushed threw the paperwork, we should of read over it. We were never given any of our signed paperwork after the transaction, except for a recite showing how much we paid, where we bought it etc. Well after we owned it all these problems began to happen. We were very suspicious so we looked at our title at it said 193,000 miles. We thought this had to be wrong because the odometer said 93,000. We found out that the odometer only goes up to 99,999 and then starts back at 0. We complained to them about the verbal deception and false advertising. They told us that is too bad you signed paperwork it is now your truck. We requested the paperwork we signed and they gave it to us and our signature is on the correct paperwork. The thing here is we would of never ever signed that paperwork or even gone into the office if we knew it had 193,000 miles on it. When we got into the office we were told 93,000. I am going threw consumer affairs right now but it might end up in court. Does the verbal deception and false advertising stand up in small claims court?

Can people steal your lyrics/music if you put it on Youtube? We are in the process of copyrighting our original music and I was wondering if we put it on Youtube do we have a risk of someone stealing our music and claiming it as there own? We are waiting for the certificates but it takes a few months and we want to put some of our original stuff online. If it proof enough that it is ours because we have it recorded and we are in the process of copyrighting?
4 AnswersLaw & Ethics1 decade agoHow do you feel about the firing of P.J. Crowley?
State Department spokesman P.J. Crowley was basically fired for speaking out of the treatment of Bradley Manning who is being held for contributing to Wikileaks. Obama was asked a question about the comments made by P.J. Crowley over the weekend. Obama pretty much blew off the question, and now P.J. is out of a job. During the campaign Obama criticized the Bush Administration of the treatment of detainees at prison camps and vowed to make a change. Well now over 2 years later the same is going on, and now we are mis-treating our own citizens. If this happened under Bush's watch the left would be flipping out? Why is there such a double standard when it comes to Obama?

13 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoSteel Seal repair done without written permission?
Me and my girlfriend bought a 1993 Ford Explorer from Breeze Motors on 11/08/10. The vehicle was sold to us by David Franciosi. He asked us what kind of car we where looking for. We told him something around $2000 with low miles. He showed us one vehicle with around 180,000 miles on it and in our price range, we said that the mileage was way to high for what we where looking for. He then showed us the 1993 Ford Explorer which read on the windshield: $2800 4x4 Low Mileage. He began telling us that he just received this vehicle a few days ago and that "it had only 93,215 original miles on it." We told him that is pretty good for being such an older car. He told us that it had only "one previous owner and it wasn't used much." We told him that we only came with $2000 cash, which then he proceeded to tell us that he would take $800 off because he knew we where tight on money. He said to us "With 93,215 original miles on this car you could drive it for a year or two and still get $1500, when you sell it." After less than three weeks of ownership of the vehicle it began to overheat. We immediately brought the car back to the dealership, the mechanics looked it over for overheating and told us it needed a new radiator. They had the Radiator, Fan blade, and fan clutch replaced and charged us $340.27. We came and picked up the car the moment we drove out of the dealership thick white smoke started to come out of the exhaust. At this point we where very discourage with the vehicle. We brought it back and Ryan Wigmore (Owner) said they would check it out and get back to us. We received a phone call telling us that we needed a new head gasket. David spoke with us directly and told us he felt really bad because we had just purchased the vehicle less then a month ago and there where all these problems. We where shown a print out of head gasket work and where told that we where being cut a deal for a new head gasket. We where told that the labor costs would be very low and the majority of the price would be for parts. We where charged $374.50 for the work. A week later we picked up the car and set up a payment agreement. We paid off our balance and then 2 weeks later the car start overheating again. We brought it back to the dealership once again. We began to wonder why a car with such low miles would be having all these problems. They looked over it and called us and told us now we need a new engine. We asked about the head gasket and Ryan told us that they just steel sealed it and tried to see if that would work to save us money. Steel seal cost $90 and about an hour max for labor, we where charged $374.50. We never received any signed paperwork from Ryan stating that they where doing steel seal which we where told was a head gasket. We where told that they would replace the head gasket for a discounted price. Instead of fixing the head gasket like we where told by David, they poured steel seal into the car, without our permission. We thought we had a fixed/new head gasket and where unaware we where driving around with steel seal. So now the engine is destroyed and we need a new engine. We asked multiple times for the written paperwork stating we gave them permission to use the "Steel Seal" they said they do not any signed paperwork for those repairs. We have owned the car for 3 months now and had to bring it to the dealership 3 separate times. We found out that the car actually had 193,215 original miles on it at the point of sale. The misrepresenting of the 1993 Ford Explorer by David Franciosi induced us into a contract of purchase for the vehicle, which we would of never engaged in if we knew that it had 193,215 miles on it.

2 AnswersPolls & Surveys1 decade agoIs this verbal deception (Fraud, False pretense, misleading) is there anything I can do?
We went to a local dealership and spoke with a salesman. He asked us what kind of car we where looking for. We told him something around $2000 with low miles. He showed us one vehicle with around 180,000 miles on it and in our price range, we said that the mileage was way to high for what we where looking for. Now I don't know what to do. He verbally deceived us and mislead us. He sold us a car under false pretense. By him misleading us it induced us into the contract. We would of never even stepped into his office to began paperwork if he told us it had 193K miles on it. The car has had all types of trouble $700 worth of repairs and now it needs a new engine, I don't know what to do?
