What percentage of Americans actually know all the words to the pledge of allegiance?
I think Jay Leno or David Letterman did a "story" on this a few years ago, but I can't find any info on it. Anyone know a number or percentage of people who can say the pledge?
5 AnswersOther - Politics & Government1 decade agoSpacing between MMR shots?
Now that the individual vaccines are no longer available, I will be giving my son two doses of the MMR. I live in Utah, and the requirements for kindergarten state that two MMRs are needed, even if the first one is after age 4. So, the second one I plan on giving right before kindergarten. My son will turn five on August 10, 2015 and school will start soon after that.
My question is when should I do the first MMR? I'd like to wait as long as possible, but still have it be a "safe" spacing between the first MMR and the second one. What do you think? Give it at two years? Three? Four years and have the two shots separated by only one year? What's your opinion?
6 AnswersOther - Pregnancy & Parenting1 decade agoRent, buy, or take my stroller to Disneyland?
We went to Disneyland last month, and I quickly realized that my daughter had outgrown her Graco stroller. It was no longer comfortable for her to take naps in it as it had been before. We are going again in April. She will be four then. She is 42 inches tall and weighs 36 lbs now, and will probably be a bit bigger by then. I guess my question is would it be better to rent a Disneyland stroller, or just take mine that she is too big to sleep in? Is there anyone who has had experience with the Graco stroller and with a Disneyland rental (recently on the Disney rental, I know they change them often) and could give me a comparison of the two? Or if you can recommend a good stroller for a preschooler, that reclines for napping?
Thanks!

If I export my Blogger blog to Wordpress, will it delete in Blogger, or will I then have two copies? I think it will upload better to make it into a book at Blog 2 Print if it comes from Wordpress. Or does anyone have another site that will make a blog into a book?
2 AnswersProgramming & Design1 decade agoCold medicine and breastfeeding?
I have a cold and I'm breastfeeding. I've been careful to only use medicine that is "safe" but I'm pumping less milk. Here's what I am taking:
For Daytime:
Dayquil-
Acetaminophen (325 mg)
Dextromethorphan (10 mg)
Phenylephrine (5 mg)
These numbers are for one pill, and sometimes I'll take two.
For Nighttime:
Equate Tussin DM -
Dextromethorphan HBr (10 mg)
Guaifenesin (100 g)
These numbers are for one teaspoon. I take two teaspoons as that is the dosage listed on the bottle for adults.
Also sometimes at night:
Nasal Decongestant -
Phenyephrine HCl (10 mg)
Only one pill.
and
Robitussin Cherry Cough Drops
Menthol USP 5 mg
As needed. Maybe 4 per night.
As you can see, I'm kind of a mess. It's a pretty bad cold! Are there any of these that would be a concern for milk supply, even though they are supposed to all be "safe"?

1 AnswerOther - Yahoo Mail1 decade agoAre these fevers concerning yet?
Last night, my three year old daughter seemed hot. I took her temperature, and sure enough, 102.1. I gave her some ibuprophen, and she went to bed, slept fine, and woke up happy. I've kept her away from the baby, who is 2 months, but now he has started acting cranky, so I took his temperature. (Rectally. I know that's most accurate with babies.) He's at 99.4. I gave him some baby tylenol (which I got from our doctor, and he said we could use for a fever) but I'm just wondering, what is usually the cut off for a four year old and a two month old to call the doctor on call on the weekend? Or to take them to instacare? Neither of them have any other symptoms, except for the baby's crankiness.
5 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade agoRosemary's Baby 1st edition book worth anything?
Tonight while browsing at a thrift store, I found an original 1967 first edition of the book Rosemary's Baby. I purchased it, of course. Is this worth anything, or just cool to have?
2 AnswersBooks & Authors1 decade agoTwo forms of birth control?
I asked a similar question, but I wanted to get a little more info. Let me see if I have this correct:
Mirena released hormones, so it can't be inserted if I'm taking another BC method with hormones? Same thing with Depo Provera: it can't be injected and me still take a BC pill?
Can I do the Paraguard IUD and a BC pill as backup? Or if I wanted to just do Vaginal Contraceptive Film as a backup, what could I do that with? Does VCF release hormones?
I know some of you will say to have my husband wear a condom, but he doesn't want to, and I don't want him to either.
Thanks!
4 AnswersWomen's Health1 decade agoCan I take more than one form of birth control?
I just had my second child, and DH and I are done having children. I'm not quite ready to have my tubes tied, and am considering some different birth control choices, mostly Depo Provera and Mirena.
With either of these, can I also do a BC pill for "back up"? I know that's a strange question, but I got pregnant while on BC, so I want to be covered as much as possible before DH gets his vasectomy in June.
4 AnswersWomen's Health1 decade agoShooting pain after breastfeeding?
For the last couple of days, I've had an shooting pain in my right breast. It's just every so often, and other than that it doesn't hurt at all. My breast doesn't look red or swollen, and it doesn't hurt to breastfeed. Is this normal, or could it be an infection?
I breastfed my daughter for a year three years ago, and never had this pain, and also never had an infection.
I have a doctor appointment on Friday. Do you think it will be fine to wait until then to discuss it, or should I call him?
4 AnswersOther - Pregnancy & Parenting1 decade agoWhy is my MacBook running so slowly?
I don't think it's the internet connection. I have full bars, and our home computer is working fine. I've done all the software updates. Any other ideas? It's driving me nuts!
4 AnswersLaptops & Notebooks1 decade agoCan I pump in the Baby Center at Disneyland?
Even if I don't have my infant with me, can I pump breast milk in the Baby Center at Disneyland? If so, will they let me store it in their fridge? I am going for a weekend trip, and won't have the baby with me.
If not, is there another out of the way place that I could pump inside the park, besides in a bathroom stall?

I logged on to my Yahoo email today, and the contacts list has been "updated". I hate it, and I want it back the original way. Is there any way to do this? It looks like it is just a normal update by Yahoo, but I don't like it at all. Help please!

3 AnswersDrama1 decade agoDisneyland prices - online vs. at the gate?
On the Disneyland website, the price for a two day hopper pass is $143. Is it any more expensive if I buy it at the gate? We are going for my sister's birthday, so she has to stand in line anyway for her free admission. If it's the same price, I'll probably just stand in line with her.
5 AnswersAmusement Parks1 decade agoWhat's the reasoning for doctors prescribing baby aspirin to some pregnant women?
And is is something you need a prescription for, or it's OTC? I'm just wondering, and I will ask my doctor about it at my first appointment next week.
