  • Guantanamo Bay Prisoners?

A few years have passed now since the war on terror began, however does anyone else, like me, feel uneasy about the way in which prisoners still being detained without trial. British law (arguably a template that other countries have adopted) has always been based on "Innocent till proven guilty". The people in Guantanamo Bay have never been afforded this luxury though and it leaves a bad taste in the mouth about how the world is moving foward. If they are guilty of murderous crimes I say throw away the key and switch the lights off on the way out, but I think this should have been proven far quicker in order to quell the suffering of innocent parties and their families.

    Your sensible thoughts please?

  • Like the majority of people.................?

I believe that the world would be a far safer place without Nuclear weapons. However, as far as Im aware (being a Brit) the American Constitution states that people have the right to bear arms in order to defend themselves. With this in mind if the USA, Russia, UK, France and a few others are allowed to stock a nuclear arsenal, why do America and her allies feel the need to chastise Iran. Don't get me wrong I don't want the Iranians to have the capability either, but surely they have a right to defend themselves like everyone else. If not then America should be hassling the UK and France too.

    Your sensible thoughts please?

  • Use the British Islands.........?

There has been a lot in the press lately about prison overcrowding, and the lack of new prisons going up due to local demonstrations in planned areas. However, there are plently of islands in the North of Scotland, that were once RAF airfields but have been closed now for many years (i.e Benbecula and Machrahanish. Do you not think these could be used to build super prisons and solve the problem?

  • Quick Joke.......I apologise in advance :o)?

Liverpool airport was closed for eight hours today due to a "suspicious vehicle".

A police spokesman said it drew attention, due to being taxed, insured and still having its radio fitted.

  • Have you been here before.....?

Re-incarnation was never something that I subscribed to. Mainly because the people that do always seem to be someone famous, and also because I had never felt in myself that I had.

However, a few years back whilst on my way to Leuchars in Scotland (prior to this I had always lived in England) I found myself driving alongside Bannockburn the site of the famous battle. Now you are probably thinking I'm setting things up to say I was a knight in shining armour. However, this wasn't the case.....infact I started having strong memories of riding across it on a horse, alone, at a later time in history. As I say I had never been there before in my life.

Does anyone have a similar story???
