Why can't Green Lantern make a machine which teleports him?
It would be a lot quicker than traveling through space. We know objects with those abilities exist since Superman uses a boom tube. He could also make a serum which permanently alters his biochemistry to give him super strength.

5 AnswersEarth Sciences & Geology8 years agoHow much of Antarctica have we excavated for fossils?
I understand Antarctica is covered by a thick ice sheet, so I would imagine it's hard. OTOH, this provides an excellent opportunity to revise our by now well established ideas in the light of new evidence

It seems he must carry around his recharging station otherwise it might run out on him in space
3 AnswersJokes & Riddles8 years agoWhy can't an object exceed the speed of light?
I know, this old chestnut has been posed before, but I still don't know if there is a simple explanation as to why the answer is no. Unlike Newton thought, we cannot have an absolute framework in space, i.e., space is relative, i.e., we cannot establish an imaginary set of 3 axes, like in R^3, one way in which traditional mathematics does not accurately reflect what is known about the real world. So the only way to measure the speed of an object in space is with reference to another point mass. If we send one rocket "north" perpendicular to the Milky Way Galaxy at 99% of the speed of light *relative to the Milky Way GAlaxY, and another rocket "south" at 99%, then should not the speed of rocket A be higher than the speed of light, as measured from rocket B?
6 AnswersPhysics8 years agoIs Theodore Cruz Eligible For U.S. President?
As I understand, Cruz's father was NOT a U.S. citizen in 1970, the year of Cruz's birth; in fact, Cruz's father only became a U.S. citizen in 2005. Also, the definition of "natural-born U.S. citizen" means being a citizen AT BIRTH, not earning it in any way. So the question is: Is a person born to a U.S. citizen mother and a foreigner on foreign soil a U.S. citizen at birth? But my main question is whether what I heard about Cruz's father not being a citizen is true; I did a few casual searches, and NO NEWS ORGANIZATION seems to answer this question, or even mention it at all!!! I got the 2005 date on Wikipedia. I followed the link cited, and did not get that information from it.
7 AnswersCalgary8 years agoDoes anyone agree with my observation that nature is digital, whereas much of mathematics is analogue?
For instance, in nature, genes (Mendelian inheritance) is digital; one does NOT really get a "blending" of traits, it's instead measured in genes. We have Plank distances in time and space.
Whereas, in math, there SI no two numbers on the real line which have no number between them; i.e. there is no shortest distance.
This is only in complex analysis.
There are plenty of fields which are to some extent digital, like finite fields
