  • We rent a house in Pennsylvania, the landlord, my step brother wants to raise the rent by 700$.?

Can he legally raise it by that much in one fell swoop? Taking into consideration that I painted his entire house for free, I clean his house every week for free, My husband has repaired many pieces of his equipment for free and he eats dinner at our house every night.....you guessed it, for free. I don't want to alienate my brother but I think that much of an increase is way out of line. Does anyone have any idea if he can do this legally?

  • What do you think of frivolous lawsuits?

It's disgusting how many people tie up the courts for the sake of a lawsuit where the plaintiff is personally to blame and is just looking for a big pay day. Prime example that comes to mind is the morbidly obese man that sued Burger King because he was fat. Or the 65 year old woman who sued McDonald's because the coffee from the drive through dumped in her lap and she was scalded. Now my question is why are judges allowing these people to waste resources on this and just not telling these people to get over it and get out of their court? Why has America become so sue happy?
