Often, juries show racial bias in their decisions in criminal cases. When they declare a defendant guilty, he/she is now a felon. Felons cannot vote. Thus, the jury has just disenfranchised a man on racial grounds.

Isn't the 15th amendment supposed to prevent this sort of thing from happening?
