My sister and I are very different and always have been. We don't have much in common other than blood. My issue is that whenever I see her, she has to make a derogatory comment about me or my life. As a result, I avoid her as much as possible as it is getting to the point that being around her just brings me down - which I think is her goal. She's always got to be the center of attention and that's fine. But, when someone does pay attention to me, I get blasted for it. Our family isn't close, anyway, and never has been.

Would I be wrong to just cut her out of my life? Our relationship isn't sincere as she does this on purpose. She's unhappy with her life and it is obvious. She will put down others to feel good about herself - but as her sister, I don't understand why she has to do this to me. She is never wrong, by the way, about anything. She's fine, everyone else is the problem. I wouldn't put up with a friend like this. Your thoughts, please?

I live 40 miles from my sister and see her less and less as the years go by - we are both in our 40's. We are very different and that's okay. I am struggling because I went out to see her yesterday and once again she brought up our mother and said that she wasn't that great of a mom. I did state, again, that I think our Mom suffered from depression but other than that, my sister knows that I don't see things the same way she does but still brings this up. I will not agree with her assessment of our mother and so I changed the subject. However, today, I am feeling resentment and anger toward her once again. I struggle with feelings of guilt because this type of thing is exactly why I don't want to spend time with her. I need to tell her somehow that I don't want to talk about our mom and dad with her - that's over and in the past and I wish she would just drop it. I was not treated differently by our mother although my sister was the baby for 8 years before little bro came

Does anyone suffer from chronic constipation and if so, what do you do to get relief other than laxatives? I am truly tired of this problem and have suffered with it for most of my adult life.

I am considering their program as they tell me I passed their writing test and have the aptitude to write. It would be a class on writing articles and short stories and they guarantee that I will have one manuscript suitable to submit for publication by the end of the class. I am looking for input from anyone who has experience with Long Ridge Writers Group. Thank you.

do other women in this age group have this same problem? I'm just wondering if this is a normal in my age group. The leakage isn't bad but it's just irritating and not expected. Please, only serious answers. It was hard enough to ask this. Thank you.
