  • do u soak your lamb in lime and salt?

my sister and i had a debate tonight as to whether u should place lamb in lime and salt or not. i personally think that you only need to do that to white meat and many ppl agree that with lamb(and beef) there is no need for soaking in lime/vinegar and salt. so i was wondering, how do i explain that through science?

  • am i being unreasonable?

i always knew my husband loves to dance. however after we were married, he enrolled in this dance group that travels every year to compete. we're on our second baby. when he left last december i was pregnant now when he leaves again this december our baby'll be 6 months. i dont wanna be unfair but i think hes taking too much time away from us, because apart from the travelling he has to practice 2 to 3 nights every week. he works so on those days we dont get too see him at all cuz practice is like 3 hours after work and when he comes home hes tired and sleepy. right now im almost 39 weeks pregnant and he is not here. i get braxton hicks contractions alot daily and my back usually feels as if it is on fire and theres noone to rub it. i told him he needs to ease off from the dancing, its just a hobby, hes not getting paid, furthermore, he has to look for money every year to go to england that can help with our family. i've asked him to spend more nights home as the baby can come anytime and it feels like im being ignored. i got angry and told him if he leaves the country this december i wont be here when he gets bk. so im asking again...am i being unreasonable?

  • Why does my homemade whip cream taste like nothing but milk?

i followed the recipe with the vanilla and sugar but I was disappointed at the lack of taste. After all that i added it just tasted like fresh milk. Yes I whipped it to stiff peaks and yes I bought only the best heavy whipping cream. Somehow I was expecting the taste I get when you go in those larger supermarkets and buy a cake, but it tasted so different. I was working at a bakery once and i saw the baker use a big blue can of whip cream, whipped it and added nothing else. I never tasted their whip cream though, and i never saw that can before on supermarket shelves. cld it be that professional businesses do whipped cream a totally different way? and can I get that same result at home somehow?

  • any clue on my disorder?

Ok, so I get this feeling where i fall into a bit of a trance of focus (not intentionally) however, during that time I feel like i am split up and there are different types of me, therefore i feel like i am more than one person at the same time. yes its a scary feeling and im sick of it. open to any suggestions. thnx in advance. I never took illegal drugs nor do i drink. I was just always a ponderer and i usually study situations, ppl, almost anything. So since i was little i wld occasionally get that really weird feeling especially when i am alone and there is noone to keep my mind occupied. it just drifts.

i have posted about this before but the when i googled the suggestions i found that it wasnt really me. i had my first visit to the physciatrist last week and she was unable to diagnose it but we agreed to meet regularly and that i keep my mind employed with good thoughts. thanks for all your help!!!

  • Does anyone know the disorder when...?

    1. someone thinks/studies things too much 2/ gets the feeling they're gonna go crazy 3/ HUGE fear of being alone ESPECIALLY in a sealed or enclosed area eg elevators (i even used to get nightmares about being buried alive) 4. feeling a sense of unreality or even detached from oneself at times 5. usually focused on one thing and wld tend to block out the world altho not intentionally 6. worse part is when they go away, as long as i think about them again they start all over (which is why the desire arised to have family/friends close to keep my mind occupied).

I believe this cld even be 2 disorders. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

ps. small country, shrinks arent in abundance and they are hardly ever in as ppl dont spend a bunch on mental health.

  • Is there anyone with something actually good to say marriagewise?

im getting fed up of some ppl out here looking at marriage as an excuse to have a ring and a big party. these are the ones who are cheating then in shock to learn that they're being cheated on as well, the ones who cheat with their partner's friends and family and the like. im sick and tired of it and i need a break! okay? Is there anyone, who like me, is happily married with a clean conscience and good news to share? Its about time we look at the goodness in marriage and not just the few hills to be climbed.

anything good? pregnancy? newlyweds? lots of years married and still stong? please share...

  • What preschool work can I do with my daughter?

she is 31/2 years old and since im a housewife, i decided to keep her at home with me til next year when shes 41/2. thats the age most schools here in Barbados take kids in unless there is a nursery attached to the school but the schools in our area dont have that so she must start next year. she leans everything very quickly because she is very keen about learning new things. she can spell and write her first and last name, draw, etc. I just need some advice on what i can do in terms of teachng her so that when she goes to school she will be just as advanced as the other kids. For the majority of the day she watches Dora alot and I feel like I am holding her back. I plan to take her to town, buy more books and make sure I read them daily. She loves books. Any other suggestions?

  • How can we keep kissing at a minimum on our wedding day?

I am so terrified of kissing my fiance at our wedding before ppl, and we're being married 9th aug 2008. I'm freaking out constantly. The monster part is cutting the cake, i was told i have to leave a piece out and he has to eat the rest and kiss me. I'd rather do that in our honeymoon suit and not infront of everybody. Its just my nature. Plz help.
