Women, worldwide- have any of you ever had cysts on your ovaries?
I have two, one on each ovary. I will have surgery to remove them next week. I don't know if they are malignant, or if the ovaries will be removed. I'm terrified. Does anyone know what this is like? I've been trying to keep my mind off this. I can't. I may go nuts. Anybody out there?
3 AnswersWomen's Health1 decade agoAt last! How will the neocons denounce Scott McClellan, formerly Bush's secretary and talking head?
Mr. McClellan's book admits what 70% of the nation has known since '04, and possibly earlier, if you really paid attention to detail in the 2000 election. Bush is bereft of any moral ground on virtually any subject concerning the populous. Is anyone else looking forward to reading this book?
6 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoWhat are the most romantic songs of all time?
Obviously, every genre has contenders, so put whatever you think fits into the romantic category. I'm trying to find some love songs to put on my iPod!!

Some of my picks are Salma Hayek, Reese Witherspoon, Julianne Moore, and Gong Li. What do you think?
6 AnswersCelebrities1 decade agoHi, everyone. What is up with people promoting BOTH anorexia/obesity in society?
I just read an article about England's Miss Surrey, which featured pictures. I'm sure the young lady is a lovely person, and she is, indeed, a beautiful girl. However, she is overweight. Not obese- yet she is overweight enough that it could be unhealthy. Why is the media so obsessed with absolutes? French catwalk models, in any other nation or profession, are called "starving refugees", yet Langerfield and co. throw these women at us as paragons of glamour. On the other end of this spectrum, we have significantly overweight people increasing the premiums on insurance coverage and the morbidly obese taking up more than one seat at the theatre or on the airplane, and we are told to be "sensitive" to their "disease". Where is the middle ground, especially in entertainment? Why are we bombarded with the worst extremsim and brainwashed to these ideals? Where are the Sophias and Marilyns and the P.E. in schools? When did the entire world become so ridiculous?

2 AnswersOther - Society & Culture1 decade agoDoes anyone else think the Founding Fathers would recoil at current US policies?
I'm specifically referring to our war policies, the national obsession with religions, our tax laws and the expansion of government into citizens' private affairs.
8 AnswersGovernment1 decade agoHow does the world view the physical American woman?
I'm very interested in this because our media bombards us constantly with information about how fat we are, while simutaneoulsy reporting on American women with anorexia. There are countless "embrace yourself" books and shows, yet the media shows American's Measuring Stick- Europe- disgusted with our looks. I've read countless posts calling American women unattractive, yet I encounter very few of these tragically ugly, fat people portrayed in the media on a daily basis, so I'd like some intelligent feedback. Remember to use your spellcheck.

Currently, I think Halle's man, Gabriel Aubry, leads this list. Who else?
13 AnswersCelebrities1 decade agoWhat is wrong with NW Arkansas that their media will not report on disasters in other parts of the state?
Central Arkansas sustained massive tornado damage last night. A year ago, Dumas, in Southeast Arkansas, got leveled by a tornado. I don't recall if Clinton got coverage when a tornado ripped through, but I do know for certain that last night's events were not mentioned on television or radio in NW Arkansas and that Dumas was shown no support whatsoever. I think the question bears asking- why does Northwest Arkansas (Fayetteville, Springdale, etc.) insist on behaving as though they are removed from the rest of the state?
2 AnswersWeather1 decade agoWhy do people generalize Americans? We're not all George W. Bush, non are we all vapid celebrities.?
I've noticed that lots of people ask questions such as "Why do people hate Americans?" These questions are answered with such stereotypes that I wonder if the people answering have ever visited the U.S., realize what a massive nation we are with many different cultures thriving, or have ever encountered an American who wasn't 18 and on Spring Break. Interestingly, the people answering also often claim that Americans are ignorant of other cultures and stereotype people they know little about. I would simply like to hear well-thought, well-spoken opinions that aren't bogged in stereotypes and ignorance.
6 AnswersOther - Cultures & Groups1 decade agoDo women have to be tougher than men?
I was raised a Southern lady, but I am very straight-forward. I work for the military. Planning and work attitude is very stark. I do not appreciate stereotypical "girlish" behavior at all. However, I have noticed, recently, that most of the women around me, while sweet and hard-working, nice women, are "shocked" and "surprised" by mens' behavior in the work place- which has not at all been insulting, degrading, etc. Mostly, the men in question have discussed their relationship with their wives, girlfriends, etc. and their perspectives. Sometimes, the quality of the conversation would make Sarah Jessica Parker proud. The women around me seem to be taken aback by their (the mens') frankness. Am I a strange, oblivious woman to not be offended, or do I simply accept men, the human person, etc. better than certain cohorts?

11 AnswersCelebrities1 decade agoI am an American Southerner, and I adore the British!! Y'all know that all Americans aren't W., right?
It's heartbreaking to see what our international relations have come to in the past few years. It's terrible to read in the media that ALL Americans have such a negative view of the UK, and that NO Brits have anything positive to say about ANYTHING American. I have to believe that not everyone's world views are shaped by the idiotic policies of an inept government.
