What is a good title for my short story?
Yes, I did post this question before but I thought I should re-write it.
So I am seeking titles for my story; not exactly for you strangers over the Internet go give me titles that I would actually use, but some input that I would consider using to help me with ideas. It is a short story, and even though I’m nearly done with the first draft... my brain still manages to draw a blank for titles. I never exactly had a working title for it either, really.
The genre is romance. It takes place in the 1960s, the story-line starting with eight-year-old Jonas who meets seven-year-old Lilly Mathison, a girl with autism. Together, despite the taboo of society, they become friends and high school sweethearts later on and share many adventures together. And as Jonas grows older, he gains more of an understanding to disabilities, but begins to inquirer why people are even born that way. The story takes place from Jonas is eight years old till he is sixteen, and Lilly is fifteen. It isn’t just about disabilities, but abusive relationships, friendships, and in a sense forbidden love as well. I don’t feel comfortable broadcasting the entire plot-line of the book to anyone, especially over the Internet. Hopefully that’s a good amount of information about the short story. Any suggestions?

Note: I did post this questions a couple times before previously. Me being curious was seeking a few more suggestions, really.
Yes. I am writing a short story which falls into the romance genre. Even though I am finished with it, my mind still seems to draw a blank when coming up with titles. I was hoping someone would be willing to come up with a few suggestions in order to get my mind reeling with ideas. The story-line takes place in the 1960s, and follows a young boy named Jonas who meets Lilly a girl with autism. However naïve Jonas had no idea of his newfound friend’s differences; unable to grasp an understanding of why others ridiculed her so much. As Jonas grows older he gains more of an insight of his friend and soon high school sweetheart Lilly through the crazy adventures the two have through their childhood. Yeah, there’s a much more to the plot than that of course but honestly I don’t feel comfortable broadcasting every single idea to a bunch of strangers. Sorry. Any suggestions?

4 AnswersBooks & Authors10 years agoHow do you write a book outline?
So, I've finally decided to write a novel. After putting weeks, possibly months, of thought into the idea I want to bring the idea to life. Though I'm little stumped to what I should summarize in one, and what should I exactly do first. How do you write an outline for a novel?
3 AnswersBooks & Authors10 years agoCan I have a few suggestions for my story's town?
I need a little help coming up with a setting for my story. It's not like I'm literally wanting you to do the work for me (since that's being a lazy writer on my part, I can admit), but I need a few suggestions. My story is a paranormal/romance, but I can't stay put with the town's name. Originally, I wanted the story to be set in Alaska. I wanted Nightmute, Alaska. . .until I realized that the actual town wasn't really "livable" and is very remote. Then I created the fictional town of Cardivus--which didn't suit the story. . .at all. I still do want this place to be in Alaska, not necessarily remote but not so populated either. Any suggestions?
2 AnswersBooks & Authors10 years agoHow big is a breast cancer lump?
I'm thirteen and worried I might have breast cancer. Even though it seems unlikely, when I watched CBS news about a year (maybe a couple years) ago there was a twelve-year-old breast cancer survivor so that had me wondering. I have had pimples on my breast which turned out to be nothing at all, but then there's this very small pimple on my nipple that worries me. Honestly, the pimple is the typical size of a regular pimple, and is very insufficient. I was just worried that this possibly could be a lump. They say that nipple discharge that can be white, clear, red, brown or green (that happened when I was very young since I scratched at my breasts a lot) and itching could lead to problems; but these are things I've been having since...since my breasts have started growing. I thought it could be another possibility of my hormonal changes since I'm growing in all, but I'm not sure. How big is a breast lump, typically? And what should I do in such a predicament? What do you think?
5 AnswersCancer10 years agoHow big is a breast cancer lump?
I'm thirteen, and my mom always told me to check for lumps...just in case it could be breast cancer. I found a small little bump (smaller than a pea) in between my breasts, and I wasn't sure if it was a pimple or a breast cancer lump. I'm worried, and I want to tell my mother but honestly I'm not sure what it is. How big are breast cancer lumps typically? I know most lumps could be nothing, but I'm apprehensive it could be something. Honestly, I'm not sure.
5 AnswersCancer10 years agoWhat is a good title for my story?
Story-line:
Unspoken desires will finally emerge beneath the surface. Hearts will shatter, and enemies will affray. And it was destiny for him to end it all, beholding the future of Earth itself in his hands.
When Death escapes from the fiery pits of the Underworld and the tangible form as a beautiful teenage girl, havoc evokes the small Alaskan town of Nightmute, the Saga of the Fallyn shadowing over Percival C. High School. The course of serendipity will fall, and life as we know it will change forever.
Capturing Gavin, the descendant of the cherubs in her trap of wicked of love; leads the hell-bent Alana one step closer to prevail her plan of recruiting the Fallen in order to send Earth’s mortality into turmoil. But discovering his angelic physical capacities, Gavin knows he must fight back the demon’s masquerade. The heartless Alana, smitten by the love of her angel, knows what will become of her fate the most dangerously closer she is to him. The chimerical world of Everfall has them thinking that their love would most likely survive in the midst of this pandemonium…or is it all a trap?
So the plot-line basically follows Alana, a girl deceived as Death (the heiress to the Underworld); and Sean, a descendant of the cherubs (a winged angelic being; the second highest order of the ninefold celestial hierarchy) who fall in love, when everyone is trying to break them a part in the midst of a Great War between the celestial beings, the rivalry shadows over the small Alaskan town of Nightmute. No, this is not the entire plot of course (and I know the blurb is still just as confusing), but I didn't feel comfortable posting the whole entire thing online.

Plot-line:
Like fire and ice, the two were always waging at war; but with a twinge of love comes the perfect elixir…For there can be no darkness without a light.
Historic loves never die, forever everlasting in the midst of a war as old as time itself. It was the clash of titans, the spades of hearts, the immortal war with no end. Unspoken desires will finally emerge beneath the surface. Hearts will shatter, and enemies will affray. And it was destiny for him to end it all, beholding the future of Earth itself in his hands. When Death escapes from the fiery pits of Hell and takes the tangible form of a beautiful teenage girl, havoc evokes on the small Alaskan town of Nightmute. When Death takes the form as a beautiful teenage girl, nothing will be the same at this small-town high school again. Having nearly half of the male population smitten, her strange power of seduction seems to phase everyone—except for Will, that is. Innocent students will die in order to be recruited for the Great Resistance of the Dark Forces to be the Fallen Pride—the ultimate plan to devise chaos for mortality. After discovering Alana’s dark secrets, Will not only finds himself despising her for killing his parents and becomes greatly determined to fight his demons away. And it turns out, Will isn’t as normal as he thought he was. Obtaining a peculiar ability, even for a descendant angel, Will was destined to kill Death itself and rid of the evilness of immortality. But fate has some other plans in mind, and Alana and Will must fight to keep their love everlasting…
I know the summary isn't well written, but it is currently is being tweaked. No, I'm not asking for you to necessarily give me a title. I'm simply asking for suggestions to get my mind reeling with some ideas for it.

Yeah, this is my third (and last) time I'm posting this question. I'm not asking for you to critique/remark at the plot-line, I'm simply asking you as the title of this question implies--a title for my story of forbidden love.
It was enough for 16-year-old Mercedes "Sadie" to be caught in a love triangle between two guys, but when your brother enters the picture nothing can be that simple. After recently confessing to his parents he is gay, Anthony’s sexual confusion is followed by an iniquity by those who are supposed to love him—except for Mercedes. The bond between this pair was inseparable. So when Mercedes begins to surpass her indifference for her brother and starts feeling something unexpected, she can no longer deny the matter-at-hand. Budding an incest relationship, Mercedes and Anthony must fight all the obstacles in their way from insolent homophobes to bitchy girls with pompoms, and worst of all—Steven, Mercedes’s boyfriend. In spite of it all, will love prevail?

Here is the story's plot:
It was enough for 16-year-old Elisabeth to be caught in a love triangle between two guys, but when your brother enters the picture nothing can be that simple. After recently confessing to his parents he is gay, Anthony’s sexual confusion is followed by an iniquity by those who are supposed to love him—except for Elisabeth. The bond between this pair was inseparable. So when Elisabeth begins to surpass her indifference for her brother and starts feeling something unexpected, she can no longer deny her feelings. In spite of it all, will love prevail?
I'm a bit confused for the title. If anything, I'd want to avoid silly titles such as "A Forbidden Love", since that's bland and tasteless. I'm not asking for you to come up with the titles for me, I'm just seeking suggestions to get my mind reeling a bit.

9 AnswersBooks & Authors1 decade agoAn opinion on my story idea?
When John Wells died, he left alone three things: a mercurial now widowed wife, desperate to find love; a depressed daughter; and an old dream catcher that’s lost its purpose. 16-year-old Vivienne Wells has been haunted by nightmares since her father mysteriously vanished. She doesn't know how or why, but she knows the inevitable outcome: her death. And the resonating light coming from the old dream catcher makes it all the more a mystery. After a series of chance encounters and befriending the unlikeliest of people, Vivienne must find the source of nightmares as it collides with reality.
The concept of the story: Dream catchers are supposed to catch your bad dreams. But when the bad dreams caught in the web of the dream catcher are released into reality, it let's all hell break loose.
This isn't the full plot, if anything, I'd say this is very under-developed.
Can someone give me an opinion on it so far?
6 AnswersBooks & Authors1 decade agoCan you give me some love advice?
I like this boy, who was one of my best friends in preschool through kindergarten. We're both thirteen now, going on fourteen. We don't talk much, considering the fact that he's no longer in any of my classes however at times when I bypass him in the highways he gives me a "hi" and a smile. He's popular (as well as ridiculed), while I'm probably the shyest person in my grade and hardly speak a word. I want him to notice me, but whenever I do make an attempt to speak to him the wrong words came out. So I scrawled down a love poem for him on a piece of lined paper. My friends practically tackled me for it, so it ended up being crumbled up and ripped. I asked my closest friend/family member whose also in our grade to give it to him. Two days later, my close friend said she handed it to him but he told her to get the piece of sh*t away from him (but took it anyways). I doubt he read it. But I think it was because he didn't know who it was written by since I kept it anonymous. But he didn't show any concern. I thought he liked me too, but I guess I'm wrong. I wanted him to ask me to the 8th grade dance (which is next month) but I'm too nervous to. Any advice?

1 AnswerFriends1 decade agoHow is my story idea?
Our world...hundreds of years later. You would think things would be different. World peace. A big advancement in technology. Perhaps even flying cars. Well, let me tell you, you are very wrong. Life is no longer how we know it. Violent raids. Humans are becoming savages. A world of poverty, Nazism, and warfare. Finally, we have reached a new chapter in our history.
Dictatorship. Aberrations. A secret government prison for humans with unexplainable differentiations. Supernatural abilities that people once ceased to exist. But more than a prison happens beyond these bars. Testing. Extermination. Horror. Guards and matrons carry lethal weapons. They ascertain you there will be no life outside this confinement. No one can ever be trusted.
There is a schizophrenic girl with collapsible wings, giving the impression she is a bird or an 'injured angel'. A grief-stricken boy with psychokinesis: the power to move something by thinking about it without the application of physical force. These powers and more can be found in the government facility...
Meanwhile, Amerion's (Amerion is modernistic America, its name distorted throughout the ages) government is hanging by a thread that is ready to snap. They are under dictatorship by their leader, NYX. Criminals are let lose. Cannibals are becoming more and more common. Obscure murders. There are rumors of rebellion in the near future...
After years, the abnormalities from the prison are free. But everything comes with a price. They may have exemption, as long as they enroll a violent warfare that may destroy man...and abnormality kind; their abilities are considered to be an advantage against the "enemy" - the anti-government 'boors' of Amerion, most of them living in poverty. But they must keep their powers and abilities a secret, unless they want to become targets, or worse - allies.
Betrayal. Manipulation. Redemption. Lies. Forbidden love. Jealousy. Reality begins to sink in when they, too, realize they cannot escape their own nightmares of a past. But not everything is as it seems...
'Abnormalities' is the term I use in this story to depict a human that acquires supernatural abilities. I do realize that is filled with many plot-holes, that I hope to fill when I begin writing (it is quite under-developed). I've been pondering about this concept for quite a while now, but I have yet written a page about it. This story, I think, falls into the science fiction, horror, fantasy genre.
