Feeling scared about having a caesarean...?
recently found out that my baby was breech and while i'm still holding onto the hope that she'll do a flip i'm at 33 weeks now just had a doctors appointment and she's still breech so he has referred me to the OB as he said there is like a 90% chance that i will be having a caesarean.
Now i am freaking out i really had my heart set on going the natural route for delivery which is out the window, i can live with that, but i am scared about the surgery. I have never had any kind of operation, i've never even had stitches in my life! My husband i think is nervious for the surgery as he doesn't want to watch them cut me open (he can handle gutting a deer but is being a baby about this) and i need him in that room with me, i don't want my mom or MIL in there i want my husband as this is the first baby and he should be there. It's not like he has to watch right he can face my face and not look at it happening. He put the baby in there and it isn't as though vaginal birth isn't just as ugly(maybe even more so).
It's also the realization that the baby is coming 2 weeks earlier then expected and i am scared of how long i will be unable to take care of myself
I guess i just want to hear from other mothers who have had caesarean, how was the recovery, was it as scary as you thought? How long before they release you from the hospital? And how long did you need someone to take care of you after the surgery at home?
Thanks so much for any advice and stories you can share
6 AnswersPregnancy10 years agoHelp me find the right words to show my brother how hurtful he is to my mom.?
Ok here is the situation, after yet another talk with my mom, i am at my wits end, she does everything for everyone, she is the rock in our family and not just our immediate household this extends to aunts, uncles and cousins(2nd cousins incl.) She is tired her life the last year has been one shitty thing after another. And a bulk of it stems from my brother and his girlfriend. Don't get me wrong, i love them both really, but they are lazy freeloaders who constantly abuse my mothers good nature. Starting with them living in her house rent free while they barely attempt to hold down jobs, they sit around eat her food rack up her utility bills, make a mess of the house and make no effort to help or contribute in anyway. Either of them drive so they are always asking her for rides(these are 23 year old "adults" by the way) even at 3am when she works at 6 and they have been drinking at a house that is only 5 blocks away! I just cannot sit idly by and let them do this. She never sticks up for herself and continually enables them to be this way. I would like to send them a letter, i am not sure if it will be anonymously or just right from me, letting them know that she is in tears nearly everyday out of frustration. I got angry with her today for being a doormat which i know isn't what she needed but maybe some tough love is what she needs to see that she should dish some out herself. What would some of you say if you were in a similar situation. i know some will say to butt out of this but considering how much this woman has done for me in my life i would like to do something for her. She is worried about where he will go, if she tells him it's time to move out. He's never going to leave if she keeps doing everything for him, and if she stops then her house becomes a disaster so she can't win unless they get out. Please help me find the words! i'm am frustrated and they are not coming to me in a way that is not very cruel and mean.
4 AnswersFamily10 years agohow often do they make an error during an ultrasound?
hey all, i'm sure that i'm not the only one who goes through this. But how often do they make errors in the ultrasound, specifically when measuring the baby(they think i may be at risk for IUGR i go in on the 26th to check on the baby) and also on the sex. We were told "it looks like a girl" in those exact words. So we are preparing for a baby girl. Now i'm all paranoid that she will come out a he when everyone is thrilled over the baby being a girl. We've also grown to the idea that it is a girl we call her she. I had a dream that my husband wanted to name her pippy(NOT HAPPENING) but she's kind of adopted that nickname already. How often are they wrong on an ultra sound, they are saying that baby is small but my uterus is measuring like 5cm larger then what is considered the norm for how big i am. Baby's heartbeat is strong 153 bpm(which doc says is a good indicator of a girl). What happens if baby is IUGR?
7 AnswersPregnancy10 years agoOBDII Reader? Is my car compatible??? 1995 Crown Victoria?
I have a 1995 Crown victoria I have tried an OBDI and it does not work with my vehicle. I am wondering if I would need an OBDII code reader. I've read that there should be a sticker indicating if it is but there is not. Has anyone else successfully used a OBDII reader with their 1995 Crown Victoria. I live in Canada if the has any bearing on its compatability.
2 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs10 years agoBridal Shower Gift ideas...?
hello all hope some people can shed some light for me here. I have a bridal shower coming up for my sister in law and normally i have no trouble coming up with a great gift idea but we are kind of going through a rough patch because i am pregnant and she is not(whole other issue!) and i just am having a hard time connecting with her and therefore coming up with a gift is so hard!
Also the whole situation is unorganized she expects gifts but didn't bother to do a gift registry or make any kind of list of things she would want/need for the home. My brother and sister in-law live like they are still in college so in my opinion they need everything but i do not know if they really care about stuff like that.
I thought about doing a cinema popcorn popper and serving bowl set with like flavour shakers, maybe a cozy blanket and a movie/gift card for a movie...
other then that i'm really drawing a blank.
5 AnswersEngagements & Weddings10 years agoMissing The intimacy?
Ok well i am about 24 weeks pregnant now and obviously showing. And it seems like the intimacy in my marriage is gone. I have been having back issues and i'm at that stage where i get short of breath once in a while so i can't be squished and cuddled in bed. but we've gone from being a almost every day sex couple to like once or twice a week. I mean sometimes it is uncomfortable to do it, but i miss the connection we have, and he doesn't really iniciate sex anymore, is this because he's unattracted to me i mean i've but on about 15lbs now but i really think most of that is baby bump. Is it cause he knows i can be a little painful sometimes? The ultrasound showed the baby to be a little small so i don't know if he is worried about hurting her. I don't know how to approach the subject with him, or maybe i'm afraid of the answer. Is anyone else in this situation? I just want my sexual husband back.

4 AnswersBaby Names10 years agoWhat do you make of this situation? ten points to some helpful advice.?
What would you make of this situation. My sister in-law to be has not spoken to me since we annouced our upcoming pregnancy. I am unsure if she is mad at me, or simply busy with wedding planning. She has completely ignored my phone calls and emails. A little background information on this, is she and my brother in-law were trying to have a baby since before my wedding last september she has suffered what i think may be two miscarriages. They already have one son who just turned 3. After miscarriage# 2 they decided to plan a wedding for august. We were pregnant before then and had wanted to wait a while to tell the family then we definately had to wait so we didn't steal their thunder of announcing a wedding date. Is she angry at me for being pregnant. stealing the thunder of her wedding time(she knew we were trying before they annouced the plans so technically i could pull the same crap). Am i wrong to be mad and annoyed as i have been nothing but supportive and excited for them. as i was when they accidently made their son and were not the most prime candidates for parents. And she is behaving in the most petty way. yet she has had the nerve to call mymother in-law and ask her to ask me if i have an address list for that side of the family. Why not call me herself. What would you do. should i confront her. i have received the invite for the shower from her bridesmaid and am having a hard time wanting to go pretend it is all nice between us when it is clearly not. i have done nothing wrong except start my family. i am angry that she would use that to put distance between us. She has said some really awful things about the family in general lately and i know she has made some negative comments about our baby to be. i want to let her know i am angry and hurt by these things. i am very close to my in-laws and attack on them bothers me. what would you do?
3 AnswersFamily10 years agosafe baby bath and body products?

3 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade agonearly 16 weeks pregnant, advice about work situation needed! 10 points. longer question please read!?
I am pregnant. I have Recently informed my Boss of my situation, and he was very kind and understanding about everything(being a father himself i expected him to be) However i was concerned about out main boss(the one above him) as i had heard awful stories in the past about women that had gotten pregnant and fired for B/S reasons. Well it has been less then one week ad already my boss is being told to write me up for something i was never given a verbal warning on, and it was about the way i do something that i have been doing for the last year. basically they changed the way they wanted things done never told me and are complaining it isn't being done that way. To me it seems a way to get me enough reprimands to fire me. I also should mention that i have been at this company for over three years and my work ethic, ability to to my job, and the way i do my job has never ever come into question until i announced my pregnancy. Also i have taken on a pile of additional responsibilities without a raise and never got angry or upset over this fact, i have been a good loyal employee.
I do not know what i should do i fear this will only presist until i am out of a job and then i won't be able to collect my maternity and parental leave benifits through EI. I have a doctors appointment on June 1st is there anyway i can be put on stress leave, or disability/sickness leave until i start maternity leave. or am i just screwed. it is really to late to look for another job as i am starting to show and who is going to hire a pregnant woman that will have to leave in a few months.
HELP!!!!
5 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agoHow and when should i tell my boss i'm pregnant?
I am now 15 weeks pregnant, Due October 27, and am just not sure how or when to let my boss know i am pregnant, i've already had three appointments and another coming up on the first for the doctors, so i'd like to let him know before that. Problem is i am in an all male working environment, we have and open office an not that it is a big secret i just don't what to blurt out "oh by the way i'm having a baby" is it acceptable to tell him via email? just as there isn't an oppertunity to really get him alone, i do not have the lunch's with him so it just is not normal to take one with him to tell. Also while i know he will be supportive about everything relating to time off, etc... it is his boss i am concerned about, he is very sexist and i fear how i will be treated as a result of my pregnancy i've been with the company 3 years, and for the first time i am nervious about job security because of this. please help!
