  • Boy. Novel about a child whom had to choose his own name?

Would like to know the name of this book. An old Reader's Digest condensed novel printed it. The father would not name the boy , leaving it up to the child to decide what his name would be. Really interesting.

  • I want to make boiled peanuts. From what company should I order?

Northern Lady seeks Southern peanut dealer. I don't care if they are not green, just raw in the shell. I have made them before, but I brought a sack home from N. Carolina. Not available where I am in Iowa. Thanks.

  • What would you like to ask? What is the perfect way to die so I am not a burden to tax payers?

I am 56 yrs old and smoke. I get warned about how much tax payers have out of their pockets for taking care of sick smokers. My Dad, Step-Dad and Mother are in their mid-eighties. None of them smoked and they lived healthy lives. They had a good plan for retirement. Their pensions and savings and properties will soon be eaten up by nursing homes. Then they will be on title 19. as in "welfare". How is this better than me dying younger, not getting SS and Medicare/Medicaide? They are miserable Why are we so focused on trying to live longer?

  • How can I make frames for road maps?

I have traveled a lot and want to save the maps by framing them for my hallway. Too costly to have a shop do it. Any ideas? I only have a miter box. No fancy tools like the DIY guys.

  • Obituary comments on line.?

I think its a cheap way to send condolences. It might be OK in some ways, but sending flowers or taking the time to buy a card and put a stamp on it would mean much more. What are your thoughts?

  • fibromyalgia created by lazy women?

Its the perfect disease. A doctor cannot prove it or disprove it. All you have to do is look up the symptoms on line and you are on disability. Ouch, I hurt all over. So do I when I get up to go to work every day. The 4 women I know that claim to have it have husbands who are recently retired or self employed and don't work a 40 hr a week job. I think they are jealous and want to stay home. Fake O Myalgia

  • I have a critter in my attic?

I hear it only at night. I hope its a bat or a big mouse. I don't think anything else could gain access. I have an old house that has been remodeled from a two story to a one story with strange sub floors. How can I oust the beast? I am going to try hot peppers and garlic and hope it leaves on its own so I don't have a dead animal smell. HELP!

  • Who likes lamb? Ick. I really tried to like it.?

I really wanted to like it. I had it at a 5 star hotel in India. I am sure they made it the best of best, but I could only swallow two bites. It tastes like wet sheep smell. Oily and thick. If its so good why does it always need so much sauce? Must have to grow up with it. I didn't, but we raised sheep for wool.

  • Tornadoes. Why do they have to investigate? Discredit those who report?

I am in the midwest, and if the weather service does not report a tornado warning they treat the people who say they saw one or had damage like fools. Its like the DNR in Iowa never believed reports on Mt Lions, but they are here. There have been some hit by cars. Now the DNR has to admit we have them in Iowa.

  • Can repressed emotions from, and/or being gay or lesbian cause seizures?

This seems like too much of a coincidence. Three GREAT people I know have this common denominator but are from very different backgrounds. I have talked to one friend about this and she said it might be a cause. Why would, if it even does, effect the body like this from repressed emotions for whatever reason?

  • Bose wave and sirius receiver has a background noise. Why?

Is this from where I have it plugged in? It all works fine, but there is an annoying buzz. I have a good signal and the Bose itself is OK.

  • How do I make deep fried peaches?

Not deep fried pies. Just peaches that are breaded and they had a sweet cream cheese dip. I had them at a big midwest flea market and loved them. The lady that was selling them I believe said she made them with canned peaches and the breading was corn or wheat flake cereal. I don't want to steal her recipe. I just want to eat them again.

  • Why is secondary smoke worse than secondary alcohol?

Do our lawmakers have more of a problem with their own alcohol abuse than with tobacco? Why else would so many states make tobacco laws stricter than DWI laws? How many are killed because of secondary drunk driving? I don't know. That is why I'm asking. We can't smoke in public, but we sure can drink! tsk, tsk.

I would love to do some easy boating (kayak or raft), and see some animals and birds and fish I cannot see in the U.S.. Large or small. I love the outdoors. Should I wait till I get there and do tours or hook up with some wonderful locals? I'm 52 yr old female, so don't want to go rock climbing. (smiles)
