On sunday my father took us to go buy a puppy (a yorkie-poo). He is only 8 weeks old and the guy told us that he shouldn't be allowed on the grass until after 4 weeks (by then he will be 12 weeks). Right now my mom is the only one that has a problem with him because she doesn't want him to go on our carpet and she doesn't want him to do his stuff in our house.

Unfortunately he still isn't allowed on the grass so we are going to try to take him out (on our wooden patio) 3 times a day (the times when he usually pees inside the house) and maybe he will catch on that he does his thing outside.

The other side of the problem is that we want him to listen to us when we tell him something like "Duke, come here!" or "Duke, don't do that!". We tell him to come to us but instead he goes the other way and after a few seconds of investigating what he wanted, he comes. Or he will start nibbling the leg of my mother's new chair and even when we look him in the eye and tell him no, he continues to do it. My sister thinks that he is going to be a bad dog, but I think that he is just investigating his new home. Obviously, she has already given up and I was strong about it, but now I am starting to feel a little depressed too. I know he is only a puppy and he has only been here for 3 days, but I feel like I need some tips and assurance that I am doing this right. He is a sweet little dog and the cutest thing on the planet. He loves to cuddle which is proof that he isn't mean. I want him to be a happy dog that listens to me and my family.

The story is sort of intertwined with the tale of one thousand and one nights. It is about a girl that has a crippled foot and goes to the kings palace. At the palace she begins to tell stories to some children and the sister of Scheherazade hears her and brings the girl to Scheherazade because she is running out of tales to tell the king. The girl tells her a story that she does not know but she does not remember the ending. Eventually the girl ventures out of the palace (secretly for it is forbidden to leave the palace) in search of the old man who used to tell her stories.

It's a really good story and I read it once but I don't know the exact name or author of the story.
