  • Why do people proudly call themselves psychotic?

There's a person I met, not in person, but over a game. His account name was "PsychoticKlown". After playing in the same server with this player I started to learn more about him. I'm not sure if this is a self induced title, or if he is clinically diagnosed as having psychosis, but either way he considers himself to be psychotic and is extremely proud of this.

His personality almost exactly mirrors that of a boy I remember back in highschool. This boy would act crazy, and blame it on being a psycho, but not in a regretful way... more of a proud way.

It's odd because the behavior would make him sound psychotic, however his proud display of his "condition" sounds more of being a sociopath. Given the other factors he's proudly presented, such as drug use, it seems to me it may just be he's an outcast that strongly seeks attention whether it be positive or negative. After all, who in their right mind considers a medical illness a title to be proud of?

I've taken extreme interest in my classes, studying in both psychology and sociology, so studying people and understanding what goes on in their heads is one of my favorite pass times. I did some research and think he may have Histrionic Personality Disorder, or HPD. Many of the symptoms are there: (**Stars indicate symptoms that he relates to the most**)

Constant seeking of reassurance or approval

Excessive sensitivity to criticism or disapproval

    **Pride of own personality**

    Inappropriately seductive appearance or behavior

**Using somatic/mental symptoms ( of physical or mental illness) as a means of garnering attention**

**A need to be the center of attention**

Low tolerance for frustration or delayed gratification

**Rapidly shifting emotional states that may appear superficial or exaggerated to others**

    Making rash decisions

Blaming failure or disappointment on others

    Being overly dramatic and emotional

Tell me what you think of my "diagnosis", and please provide your own input.

  • Is there such a job in the military like this?

I was in a debate with a man and he pulled an "I'm in the military card" and said the official term for his job in the military was, and I quote "Counter-WMD Detection" and that he was part of a "Threat Mitigation Team". Never in my entire life have I heard of these things, nor have any of my buddies in the military, two which are officers, one being a Major in the airforce. Also he denied to mention his rank or any other credentials. So my question is:

Is this guy BSing or is there really a "Counter-WMD Detection and Threat Mitigation Team" in the military.

The guy said he was stationed on an A-10 base and worked on them, which is believable, but the fact that he failed to mention that other stuff till later on and did so in a weird way makes me think he's full of it.

  • Are these French Canadians insulting me?

I was up north near the Canadian border and I asked these three guys for directions. They started talking among themselves and giggling, I could tell right away by their accent they were French Canadians. One of them looks at me and says "Eat my bread" in such a thick French Canadian accent I could barely understand it, and instantly they all three began busting into laughter. Assuming I heard wrong and trying to be polite, I said "Pardon, could you repeat that?". Again the same one says slower this time "Eat... my... bread..." and again they all start laughing so hard they were almost crying. What the hell does "eat my bread" mean? Is that some kind of insult or something?

  • Am I at risk for injury when I run?

I'm starting to run with my buddy and I'll admit I'm no good at it. He's been playing baseball since highschool and even went to college and played so he's definitely more fit than I am. Yesterday we ran/walked 2 miles. Walking one telephone pole length, then running the next, then walking again, for 2 miles. He did this with ease, but I couldn't do it all. Afterwards my legs were so tight I could barely walk, so I stretch almost all day to loosen them up. This morning I get out of bed and stand up and I almost fall over because I can't even keep my legs straight without pulling at my calf muscles and having sharp pain behind my knees. Yet he still wants me to run with him this morning saying I'm only hurting myself by giving up, and that I obviously didn't stretch or drink enough water. Which I did plenty of both. I don't think he understands that it's not my willpower to push myself, but my physical limits that keep me from meeting his expectations. I'm worried about seriously injuring myself if this keeps up. Also I've been stretching ever since I woke up about an hour ago and I can still barely get up and stand.

  • What are the odds of losing a high dice roll?

I've recently gotten into a local betting game where two people will wager money and roll two 6 sided dice and whoever gets the high number wins. I know the chances of winning are 50/50. However over the course of 10 rolls what are the chances of me losing in a row.

In other words the chances of losing the first roll are 50%

What would the chances of a second loss be, then the third, the fourth, etc.

I know the chances of losing ten times in a row insanely rare but I'm just interested.

Thanks in advance best answer gets my vote.

  • How can I refund my money and recieve new hockey equipment?

So I play hockey and I owned a Synergy 2 stick with a tapered lower end. My blade broke so I took it to a hockey shop and dropped it off and told the guy what style blade I wanted on it. He wrote it down and told me to come in the next day and they'd have it ready. Later that day I get a call asking what type of stick it was, junior or senior. Again I told them senior assuming he forgot to write that part down on the transaction. I come in the next day to get it and everything looked fine until I got home and noticed something odd. The stick felt shorter than usual when I was on my skates so I stopped to check things out. Upon closer inspection I realized that there had been about 2-3 inches taken off the bottom of my shaft and at the base of the blade there appeared to be file marks. I mean it looked like someone took a hack saw to it the cut wasn't even straight. Kind of pissed off called the place back and asked what they had done and what the shaft looked like and he swore he didn't know what I was talking about. Btw this was the same guy who took the stick when I went there, I think he was new there and obviously didn't know what the hell a tapered end was. I insisted that obviously someone had to know because it didn't hack saw itself and stick a blade in there. He said he didn't know who was the one who worked on it and that he merely took the notes and put it in the back. I demanded a new stick, blade, and a refund but he refused, upon talking to his manager, he also said that it must have already been that way and that I wasn't going to "jew" them out of their merchandise and money. So what should I do here?

  • Problems with a Shimano B-Mag 1001 fishing reel?

I got this reel from my father because he just got a few new ones and doesn't like it anymore. It looks like a pretty high tech reel, I've seen the schematics and how its sporting ball bearing, magnetic control system, and a complicated looking cast control. Talk about clockwork. But anyway, I think this thing can be pretty useful if I find out how to use it right. However not everytime, but quite often, the line will birds nest on the reel. I can't seem to figure out what causes this. I know these are mostly for heavy lures and thats what I use. So idk what the problem is. Could someone explain whats wrong, and also how to use the cast control and the magnet control gauge that from 10 (min.) to 100 (max.)? Thanks in advance.

  • Could this be tongue cancer?

A few days ago I started noticing a pain on the middle of my tongue. In a normal position its fine but when I curl my tongue or something it hurts. I looked in a mirror and noticed a red blotchy part on the middle of my tongue. Its not severely red or anything, just barely noticeably redder than my tongue. I read up on the symptoms and it sort of matched the symptoms of tongue cancer. I'm not freaking out or anything just pretty concerned.

  • Where can I buy cheap size 15 inline skates?

I need a size 15 pair of inline skates for some roller hockey. The only problem is I can't find any pairs that big anywhere, not even on ebay. The highest I've seen for inlines are size 12's. And if there is no place that sells this large of a size is there anyway I could take a pair of my DC skate shoes which have a flat bottom, reinforce it with metal on the soles, then bolt on the base of inline skates? I've seen this done but it was with quad skates, not inlines.

  • How roomy is a Subaru Brat?

I've been looking to buy a Subaru Brat between the model year 1985 and 1992 . Can anyone tell me how roomy the interior is? I'm 6'5 and I'd hate to buy this vehicle if it's really cramped lol. If this won't work out then I'll just buy a Subaru wagon of some sort. Thanks in advance, the most detailed answer gets my vote.

  • What is the truck in Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome?

I'm interested in building a offroad vehicle like the one mad Max drives in this film... well at the end lol, in the beginning it doesn't run. From what info I've gathered the chassis is of an F150 probably around the year the film was made. It has an Australian lift kit, but I'd rather use a US style. Anyone know what motor was in it? What parts? Lots of pictures please ^_^ Thanks in advance. I'll be sure to vote for best answer.

  • Differential lock problems?

I have a 2001 Toyota Tacoma 2-wheel drive with a differential lock. I activated the differential lock and began to pull forward when I heard an audible crack or pop noise of metal. I turned off the differential lock and checked the undercarriage for any visible damage. I didn't see anything out of the ordinary so I got back in and drove off, but I noticed my differential lock is still engaged, even though the button is turned off. Could anyone tell me what exactly is wrong here and how to fix it, or if I need a professional to fix it and if so how much that would cost? Thanks in advance... =)
