  • Rib cage expansion with exercise?

I began exercising consistently over a month ago and I thought I was going crazy when my bras were suddenly tighter. I measured my waist, ribs, thighs, calves, arms, etc.. before I began my exercising program to track my progress. Well today I decided to measure myself again and my ribs are an inch bigger now. Is it possible that the exercise has widened my ribs?

  • Mirena and DVT/Pulminary Embolisms?

I got on the NuvaRing for my first shot at hormonal birth control and got DVT within a month. My sister, oddly enough, the month prior had gotten Pulminary Embolisms from Yaz. Well she had to switch and was safely able to use the Mirena IUD for a couple of years until she got it taken out to get pregnant. My sister also had been on hormonal birth control since she was 18.

Well she recommended it to me because of my severe and long periods with the Paraguard IUD (completely non-hormonal). However, I am not sure if it is wise for me to play Russian Roulette with my health again.

What my question is: Is the risk for blood clots just as great in the Mirena as in NuvaRing? I believe they both contain the same progesterin (sp?) hormone, but NR also has estrogen. Should I just stick to my Paraguard?

  • Yellow Soil Drainage?

I'm fairly new to the whole plant thing, and I was watering one of them and the drainage from the bottom of the pot was yellow. The plant I have at work runs clear (and is thriving), what exactly does it mean if the soil water is yellow when it's draining?

  • Strange white balls in soil?

I have a little leafy house plant, not exactly sure what it is, but there's something strange in it's soil. The plant came with just standard soil, none of the little white balls in it, and now there's white balls popping up left and right. I took one and cut it in half, and they're hard little things, but I don't want them to be something harmful to my plant.

  • Dry cracked skin after sunburn?

Last monday I was outside for a couple of hours in the middle of the day, didn't put sunscreen on (stupidly, I know) and after about two hours was VERY sunburnt. My skin was beet-red. Well over the weekend it started peeling and now underneath some of the peeled skin, not all of it thank God, is very dry cracked skin. I don't get much sun anymore, so I'm not used to this, and normally my skin is very soft and pale.

Is there any remedy to this? Will it go away within a few days-a week?

It is very unattractive and I've been putting after-sun lotion on, and tried to use a scrub this morning but it was painful. Help!

  • Does chlamydia show up on culture?

I went to the doctor yesterday to see if i had a yeast infection because I suffered from incurable symptoms. My doctor ran a culture and also checked to see if there was anything actively there with a swab test. Today my bf tells me that his ex from 6 months ago told him yesterday that she has chlamydia. He's worried that he contracted it and gave it to me, and I just want to make sure if I need to go back to the doctor and be tested for that or if it will show up on the culture.

  • Does BV always have odor?

I have had itching and burning and all of the symptoms (besides discharge issues) of a yeast infection and have treated it as such. Well the symptoms would go away for a little while and then come back. I decided to buy a screening kit to see what was going on and if it might be something else. Well my PH levels were high which could mean Trich or Bacterial Vaginosis, but I do not have any strong pungent odors or super weird discharge. I can't see my doctor for awhile, so I just wanted to see if it's possible if it is still BV or not.

  • Yeast infections leading to more problems?

I'm one of those women who gets yeast infections from sex occasionally and this past time it has been acting weird. Normally my period will start shortly afterwards and then it goes away so I don't ever treat it. Well this time I was just off my period so I did. Well after the itching went away, my vulva started bleeding (which has happened in the past, but it's NOT healing at all). It's kind of like papercut bleeding, nothing heavy, it just hurts when I wipe or put ANY ointment on it.

Well I just got off my period and started itching again, so I got the monistat 3-day and used on and it was gone the next morning. But the bleeding is worse. I've noticed a red line on my vulva which is obviously from the soreness and I'm trying to be careful but everytime I use the bathroom it burns because it gets the area that is cut or whatever.

Well this morning I woke up and now my labia minora is peeling and shrinking! It is kind of like it is waterlogged textured and it's very strange because usually it's normal and dandy.

Is this a result of the yeast infection or is something else seriously wrong? I'm only 20, so I can't imagine this being too big of a problem, but the more things that go wrong the more I'm getting worried. I don't have a dr. appt for 3 more weeks and it was the soonest I could get, but I'm really nervous. My bf was tested for STDs a couple of weeks ago and he came up clean and I was tested in December and came back perfectly clean.

  • What should I do about this?

There's a guy I started kinda seeing about a year ago. We started off as just friends and then it turned out we both liked each other. Well my ex had re-entered my life so I began blowing the other guy off so I wouldn't hurt him (he sounded like he wanted a relationship, and I was not ready for that). We continued to hang out casually and stayed friends. I walked out of his life while I dealt with my own issues, and back in November we began hanging out again, and it turned romantic again. We had a talk back in December about relationship-status and he had said he wasn't ready for various reasons (which was perfectly fine because at that time I wasn't even thinking about a relationship). Well over the past few months, my feelings for him have grown and I think I am ready for a relationship, but I don't know if his feelings have changed any on that. How can I effectively talk to him about this, or even know if he is ready for me to tell him?

  • Odor after intercourse?

I recently got on birth control so quit using condoms, and after having sex - particularly the next day, I notice a pungent fishy odor down there. It only lasts for a day or two and then goes away, and it is only after sex that this is going on. Is this normal?

  • 2 late periods in a row and pre-menstrual cramping?

Last month my period was late by almost a week and I took 3 pregancy tests (two at home, one at the doctor) and all were negative. Before I started, for the first time, I had pre-menstrual cramping which is very odd for me. I'm only 20, but for at least 5 years my periods have been either early or on time with cramps only occurring during my period.

I'm not compatible with birth control so I'm not taking it and thus it can't be the reason.

I did notice though that last period my stomach had gotten a little hard and swollen like. I guess that could be bloating, but I never get these symptoms and this month my period is 2 days late so far with the cramps and the bloating/swelling.

    Is this normal?

  • missed period, but not pregnant?

I'm almost a week late now, and I took 2 at home pregnancy tests and another at the hospital today. All 3 said negative. I've been having random cramping in my lower abdomen, some is more excessive than others. My belly feels a little firmer than usual, which I noticed today when I had my legs against my chest. I've JUST started to get my normal PMS symptoms, but still haven't started. I was under a LOT of stress last week but that's never affected my period. I'm nervous that it could be something serious. Anyone know what's going on?
