  • Common Factors- Brackets?

    ( y + a )2 ( x - a )3 + ( x - a )2

Please note the "2 3 2" are small numbers.

    ( x - a )2 ((y + a)2 ( x - a) + 1)

    The 2 & 2 are small numbers.

One is the answar being the common factor as ( x - a)2 but I don't understand how they got one to the other? if someone could break it down Id be grateful x

  • Fractions - Dividing - Have answar but don't understand thier workings?

Maybe I'm just being stupid but the question is 3/4 divided by 3/16. I have worked this out by changing it to 3/4 * 16/3 = 48/12 = 4.

My book says 3/4 divided 3/16

    = 1/1 x 4/1 =

    4/1 = 4

But I can't understand how they have taken 3/4 to 1/1? Am I missing something? Sorry I just want to understand how they have worked it out although the answar is the same.

  • Can I do a Maths A level without using ICS?

Someone mentioned you could just buy the text books and book your exam to take but I wasn't sure if this is true?

But if the A level needed course work then you wouldn't be able to (but I belive the maths a level is all exams)

    Anyone actally done this?

  • Want to b a social worker?

Its not a good start but I obvouisly want to be clear about this...

    First I managed to find a course;

    http://www3.open.ac.uk/study/undergradua%E2%80%A6

This would obvouisly be the best route but I need to be working in a social care agency & they have to fund it....hardly going to look good sending letters saying Hi I want to work for you & for you to pay uni costs...any idea if thiers a way of going about this?

    Second option is obvouisly just doing the courses I could take an undergrad course;

    http://www3.open.ac.uk/study/undergradua%E2%80%A6

(Or this one which would be my chosen pathway http://www3.open.ac.uk/study/undergradua%E2%80%A6

but to be a social worker I need (so I googled) a honours or postgrad degree (I am guessing that even tho the under grad says honours that itself wont be enough? )

So with that in mind would I have to then follow through on something with these?

http://www3.open.ac.uk/study/postgraduat%E2%80%A6 (Post Grad but they dont seem to be relevant to actally becoming a social worker?)

Any advise would be appreicated I have no experience with Uni's and how this undergrad postgrad all fits together etc and what you need......

  • 11 week old baby to start on baby rice?

First child btw; I was breastfeeding for first 4 weeks nd originally planned to go longer but he was just so hungry. He has always slept well at night but during the day I couldn't go anywhere as he was constantly just wanting to eat so I tried to combine Breast and bottle but as soon as he went to bottle he was happy as larry. So we contined on bottle.

He is now 11 weeks and is still on 4oz but the feeds moved closer together (every 2 n half hours) and if we gave him 5oz he would cry constantly with as we can only guess tummy pains... so even though he was ok with 4oz he would happily take more. (It was just the after effects)

We have just tried hungry baby milk and he is going longer without feeds but still seems hungry! Its basicly like the milk just doesnt give him that full feeling so he cant fit anymore in but he's not content and still eating his hands and getting mardy.

Is it to early? can thier be long term side effects? He does seem ready but I am happy to keep him on the hungry baby milk atm if its to early to start as he sleeps for 7-10hrs a night straight even at this age (I know im lucky)

  • Why should a Father have to pay child support if he doesn't want the child?

I understand it takes two people to tango, but at end of the day the woman has the right to give the child up for adoption, or abortion (Which I don't agree with but option still thier)

So why should the dad have to pay for the child if he doesn't want to be in thier life? Its the womans choice in most cases to be a single parent and keep the child when so many other willing people want to adopt...The Father doesn't have a choice just gets taken to court and forced to pay child support even if he is not in the childs life.

  • Can I earn money whilst on Maternity leave? (As Self Employed)?

I've just set up a ebay business selling shoes with 4months to go when my maternity leave starts, I'm getting conflicting answars as to whether I can carry on earning through being self employed.

And if it is not possible - What if I reinvest everything I earn? So say I make a profit of £2000 but just simply brought more stock with it I'd techinally not be earning anything for that year whilst im off. It would be a shame to have to shut it down for 9months when all it takes is a trip to the post office and a few computer hours...

  • Had a scan yesterday so had the day off because manager wanted me to work more hours another day...but...?

am now being told that I will only be paid 2 hrs of the day I had off out of a 7hr shift and so basicly leaves 5hours unpaid. Because I worked 2 extra on tuesday it leaves 3 hours unpaid.

Prevouis to this, my first scan on the day I had a 7hr shift, came to work and then came back to work and was paid for 3 an half hours (the time I was out for)

When my manager asked me if I would be willing to work extra tuesday it worked out better for her because she wouldn't need to cover 3 people tuesday (only 2 of us was in because I did longer hours) and I said I would only do it if the Personal manager said it was Ok and that I still got paid as normal.

Personal manager said that was fine, was told the rota had been sorted and was fine.

Now I was asked to do overtime on another department so said yes (for sunday) so I went back into personal myself this time (not my manager) to be told that I wouldn't be paid for doing this overtime on sunday (its only 3hrs shift but get paid extra for sunday so would of been worth it) because I owe them 3hrs!!!

How is this fair? I would of come in yesterday if they had told me prior I was only getting paid 2hrs but they said it was all fine and sorted and tell me after?

I want to make an offical greivance but I have to work in a small office with my manager and shes so touchy she would probally make things differcult for me!!

  • For Work - Is it really that bad/uncomtfortable around 7months?

Work want me to move to checkouts for last 6 weeks I work thier (leaving about 8months) but I hate checkouts!! May have the option to work on another department but my manager really does not want me to saying that at 7months I won't want to be doing 'labour work'(but will if thats what I want)

Currently I work in an office so generally im not doing to much and working on this other department will require to be on my feet for 6hrs and some light work such as stacking shelfs, pulling stock forward cleaning etc.

This is my first baby so I have no idea what im going to be like? Should I suck it up and do checkouts or would I be fine working on the floor?
