  • Should I puree or cut up my baby's food?

Hi, my son will be 9 months old in 2 weeks and is breastfed but since about 2 weeks ago I've been giving him a little of whatever I cook on a regular basis, but I've always mashed or pureed it.

He has 4 teeth and was wondering if I should still mash his food or can I cut it up into bite sized pieces,....yes he can pick stuff up and feed himself.

Can those tiny teeth really chew food as I've been told.

  • Does my son need vitamin D drops if he gets sunshine.?

My son is 7 months old and is exclusively breastfed, I've seen on here where they say babies need vitamin D drops if they're breastfed. However, we live in Jamaica and as you know it's quite sunny, I take him for morning strolls where he gets a little morning sun....Is this amount of sunshine enough or do I have to give him additional drops.

  • Does a 7 month old needs more than breastmilk?

My son is 7 months old and is exclusively breastfed, I was wondering if at this age he should be getting more solid foods, yes I give him a little taste of stuff off my plate now and again but I don't prepare any foods for him just breastmilk. Should he be getting more than breastmilk at this age. I feed him on demand

  • My son is cruising but can't sit...why?

My son turned 7 months today and since 2 weeks ago he's been pulling himself up onto furniture and in his playard, he's now holding on to the furniture and walking around a little, however he can't sit for very long......about a minute or so.

    Why is this

  • When did your baby first held on to something and stood up?

My son did this morning and has been doing it throught the day, however he's only 6 months old and isn't sitting for very long and isn't even creeping on his knees yet. Isn't this too early.

  • Should I be having my period while on the depo shot?

I had my son on Feb, 7, 2011. My period came back on June 24, I got the depo shot on June 25, then my period stopped immediately.

Then on July 10 I got my period, its still coming and it's not slowing down either.

I also want to know if there's a possibility that I could get pregnant on the depo shot. Because I am having a period and I guess that meant I ovulated and if I ovulated then doesn't that mean that I could get pregnant If I didn't ovulate where's the blood coming from.. Im not ready for any more babies yet.

  • My son's father gave him ice cream, what's going to happen.?

He is only 4 months old and I came home today to find him and his dad taking alternate licks at the ice cream cone. I know babies aren't supposed to get milk until they're 1, so what will happen.

He seemed to love it so much that when I took him away he was hollering for more and opening his little mouth for more ice cream.

He exclusively breastfeeds and wont even take the bottle with expressed milk, What I'm wondering is ....since he loves ice cream so much can I freeze some of my breastmilk and give it to him.

I live in Jamaica where it's quite hot.

  • Can a 4 month old get formula that's made for a 1 year old?

I see in the stores that they have formulas for 0-6 months etc,... I cant recall the ages. But then I see some that says 1 year and upwards,

What's the difference really, what is in them that a 6 months old can't have a 1 year's old formula.

I exclusively breastfeed btw. I'm just wondering.

  • do any moms on here give their kids porridge?

Do you even know what porridge is. Almost every child in Jamaica gets porridge when they reach 4 months old. My son is exclusively breastfed and he's having none of it.

He wont even take the bottle itself with the breastmilk.

    I'm talking cornmeal porridge btw.

  • Are you exclusively breastfeeding and taking xanax?

4 month old exclusively breastfed(he nurses) baby wakes up to 4 times per night so he isn't sleeping, therefore I'm not sleeping either. Doc prescribed xanax.

I don't plan to take it every night but God knows I need some sleep.

Are any of you moms on it and how did it work out for you and baby.

  • should I put my baby on his back to sleep?

My son spits up a lot, I mean a whole lot and sometimes he falls asleep while I'm nursing him, I'm always afraid to put him on his back to sleep for fear of him choking on his puke, therefore I tend to lay him on his side. I know they say "back to sleep" but is this wise even though he spits up a lot. He breastfeeds exclusively.

  • CAN I GIVE MY BABY THE FINGER?

dipped in soup. My son is 4 months old and exclusively breastfed, however lately he stares and cries whenever he sees me eating something. Today I made pumpkin soup (from scratch) and while I was eating I dipped my finger in it and gave him a taste, he liked it cause he groaned and licked his lips everytime I give him a taste. Is it ok to do this.

His father wants me to give him some in a bowl, but I told him no. Can I.

I wasn't planning on giving him anything until he turned 6 months.

  • What is worse........I'm trying to settle an argument.?

Your husband going out and getting another woman pregnant OR him punching you in the face?

I'm having an argument with my friends.

BTW they are both bad but I think getting another woman pregnant is worse than the punching.

    What do you think

  • What is happening to my baby?

I've noticed a kind of trembling whenever he's breastfeeding and almost asleep. He seems OK if I wake him but this happened yesterday and today and I don't know what it is. It's kinda like a hard shaking. Is this happening to any of you moms, I'm so worried. I'm taking him to his dr. tomorrow to find out what it is........He's 4 months old btw and exclusively breastfeeds and OK overall.

I breastfeed but I'm just curious, if it will constipate babies as much as milk based formulas.

  • What foods can I eat to put on some weight.?

My baby is almost 4 months old and he breastfeeds. I've always been small I'm 5' 4" and regularly weigh 110 lbs since I had my son I've lost all the weight and is now weighing 105 lbs, most of which I think is my boobs. My mil told me if I continue to breastfeed him he is going to suck me dry.

I really want to breastfeed for at least a year but I'm loosing a lot of weight because of it.

I do eat a lot and almost everything in sight, but never seems to put on any weight lol

I don't work out and eat a home cooked meal everyday and have no other health issues. I want to know if there are anything specific I can eat to gain some weight.

  • Why do I still get upset stomach?

When I was pregnant I had terrible morning sickness. My baby is almost four months old now and whenever I eat certain things (esp. mangoes, oranges or cucumbers) my stomach will get upset, I sometimes vomit. I have a mango tree in my frontyard that's loaded and they smell soooo good but I can't even eat one...ugh.... Why is this still happening. BTW I'm certain I'm not pregnant again. lol
