  • No group of death in the Olympics?

I see some are calling group B, the group of death. In my opinion, I don't think there is any this time around. Cuz when you think group of death, Switzerland, Gabon and Korea don't usually come to mind. But I will say group B is the "toughest" group out of all.

Switzerland and Korea are capable of giving Mexico a good game, but still, they have no business beating us. Mexico should advance pretty easily, IF we ball the way we are capable of. The group is ours for the taking.

I hate to sound over confident, but really, few countries can match our firepower.

    Anyone else agree?

  • Why is it that, accroding to some users, that..?

England, Argentina and Italy are not world class? Somebody clarify this for me. What is your reasoning? Because, quite frankly, I find it hard to believe that true futbolistas would say that about those countries.

These teams continue to produce world class talent. Year in and year out they are in contention. They command the respect from all other countries, no matter if they are struggling or not. All eyes are fixated on what those teams accomplish.

And when they fail to win, it's headline news. And like I mentioned before, just because they haven't won a World Cup or any major tournaments lately, it does not mean that they cease to be world class.

Brazil, Germany and Spain are also world class. Holland is teetering on that level as well. France is the one that has consistently been world class but at the moment is not. Its incredible how mightily they have fallen.

  • Both Mexico and USA won! Dope!?

"It was a good day" - Ice Cube.

No question here. Just sharing the joy.

Couldn't have asked for anything more than my 2 countries winning.

Mexico just took over at the end. Very bad mental mistakes by Venezuela.

And USA has 2 solid wins in a row. This should help boost their confidence, hopefully.

Oh yeah, and Barca won. Indeed a good day.

    ¡Vamos Mexico! Go USA!

  • Is this current Barcelona team the most talented of all time?

Don Ramon inspired this question so I gotta give credit where credit is due.

Im not sure if it is the best of all time. There have been so many past great teams that have been assembled for Barcelona, Real Madrid and teams from other parts of the world that its really hard to say for sure.

But take a look at Barca's roster, including la banca, and its impressive. I firmly believe that from top to bottom, it is the most talented team that we have ever seen.

And what impresses me more is their chemistry. And that they check their ego's at the door. Its rare when teams with a lot of talent have the professionalism necessary to play collectively as a unit and that don't give a damn who gets the credit as long as they keep winning.

  • MFS: Which gol was better?

Ronaldo's 1996 gol against Compostela where he went 3/4 of the field and thru a few defenders?

Or Gio's Copa Oro gol against the U.S.?

Both gols were mesmerizing & jaw dropping. But I have to give the slight edge to Ronaldo. At one point, one of the Compostela players grabbed his jersey and STILL couldn't stop him.

If you haven't seen that Ronaldo gol, I suggest you You Tube it 1st before submitting an answer.

  • What futbol legend would you like to have seen?

If you could go back in time and be able to watch a legendary soccer player, who would it be? And why?

Me personally, it would be a tie between Pele and Beckenbauer. I would love to have seen great forwards perform in an era when great defense was played.

    Who else liked the song?

I just heard it yesterday before FOX would go on commercial breaks during the Pac 12 title game.

It's such a dope song! Especially when it hits the chorus.

  • Who was better in their prime, Romario or Hugo Sanchez?

There's no right or wrong answer here.

Both had stellar careers. Both had similar play making skills. Both were fast. Both were world class strikers that could do anything with the ball.

They were freaks, no doubt. Haha!

Its mos def a headscratcher. If I had a gun pointed to my head tho, I would pick Romario. But not by much that's for sure.

    What about you?

  • Assuming "Chicharito" Hernandez has a healthy career and keeps improving, will he be better than Hugo Sanchez?

He has the potential no doubt and has much to improve on, but I personally think he will be.

At this point in "Chicharito's" career tho, he is still not better than "El Matador" Hernandez, Luis Garcia, Carlos Hermosillo or "El Zaguinho".

  • Al Pacino's best movie?

In my opinion, it's "Scent of a Woman".

The acting he did in that movie still blows me away. The dancing scene and the scene where he puts a handgun back together are the ones that standout for me. The gun scene in particular because not once did he lay an eye on the gun. He did it just how a blind person would have done it.

And of course there is "The Godfather" movies, "Heat", "Serpico", "Carlito's Way", "Dog Day Afternoon" and other really good movies. But I think his best acting job was "Scent of a Woman".

  • Your opinion on Simon and Garfunkel's classic "Sound of Silence"?

Some people think its referring to a lack of communication in society. Others think its about death. Certain verses do imply that. But mostly I think its about the alienation that many people feel, as the song seems to suggest a couple times. Such as:

"Hello darkness my old friend/I've come to talk to you again", which seems to refer to someone with no friends or relationships and no one to confide in.

"People hearing without listening", which seems to refer to that no one pays any sort of attention to this person.

Those verses along with the title of the song, seems to refer as someone who is solitary and a loner.

I absolutely luv it. Its dark and beautiful.

What's your take of the song?
