Ian's Mommy is A Fighter!
I am a mother, a wife, and an animal lover. *I'm 23. *I am a (soon to be) brain cancer survivor! *I was diagnosed in December of 2008. Surgery, Oral chemo, Radiation, IV Chemo, Avastin...you name it and we're trying it....we just found out in November that now we are fighting off 2 brain tumors :( *I get along best with people who are open minded and accept others for who they are-flaws and all! *I grew up in a Christian home, but my religious views stem from Pagan beliefs. We're raising our son in an open minded and accepting atmosphere. *I believe that no matter what choices we make as parents...parenting is a tough job and we've got to support one another!!! *What's right for my family may not be right for your family, and what's right for you family may not be right for mine-I can respect your choices, please respect mine.

15 AnswersParenting1 decade agoSAHM to Toddlerss- Do you do daily lessons with your child?
If you do, do you do a letter/color/number a day or a week or do you do different topics/subjects (neighborhood helpers, animals, under the sea, doctors) daily or weekly if not..what kind of lessons do you do? Do you try to do an art/craft, music, reading, etc daily or weekly?
My husband and I work split shift in order to each be home with our son half a day and keep him out of day care. I used to teach preschool and now that my son is 2 1/2 I feel like we should be doing some kind of structured learning with him instead of the freeplay/free learning we've been doing.

use the potty for a bm, but does not tell us or give us a hint for when he needs to pee....is this normal? I always thought that training for peeing was supposed to be easier and the bms would follow.

6 AnswersWomen's Health1 decade agoYoung adults with cancer.../adopting with cancer?
I'm just wondering if anyone else has or is having a difficult time with the fact that you can't have children. My son is two and I'm struggling with the fact that we can't have more for years bc I need to be three yrs plus free from chemo and I'm still on chemo. We also recently realized that adoption is not a likely choice bc of my disease. Has anyone else found this difficult to handle and has anyone had luck adopting while fighting cancer?
4 AnswersCancer1 decade agoWho is your child's favorite author or book series?
My son is in love with sesame street books, thomas the train books, and dr. seuss. I tried to read him mother goose nursery rhymes last night and he wouldn't sit still for a 3 sentence long rhyme, but he'll sit for 20 dr. seuss books!
15 AnswersParenting1 decade agoWorking parents..outside of the home...?
Who care for your child during the day? If you are in a daycare situation, how much to you pay for your child to be in daycare?
My son is 2 and we have thought about preschool when he is three, but the cost is so expensive in the Dallas area that I don't know how we would ever afford it! I was anti daycare the first 2 years so I was home for a year and then we started working opposite shifts so he is with me half the day and daddy half the day, but just looking at child care fees.....it's so crazy! We don't even qualify for the headstart program because we make too much money (I guess they don't count cancer related medical bills into our finances)
