McCanns: is the latest news breakthrough any different from the last news breakthrough ?
We read the headline that there has been a dramatic breakthrough in the case of missing Madeleine McCann. But reading the details there seems to be little in the way of clear fact, no doubt if there was arrests would have been made. Is this ground breaking news, or do the investigators / McCanns just put out a news brief every six months or so ?

10 AnswersCurrent Events7 years agoMcCanns: is there such a thing as a 'McCann alternative reality'?
There was a time when our perception of what happened in the sad case of missing Madeleine Madeline had a strained logic ie parents left children in foreign flat while out eating and drinking, one child went missing, presumed abducted by a paedophile... or so we were lead to believe. But time passes and two factors in the case remained - 1) Madeline was never found, 2) neither was a suspected paedophile.
Now however, with the case given a new breath of life by the involvement of British Police and Crimewatch we were told via photo-fits that two new suspects were wanted for questioning, both white, though one looking 'Mediterranean'. Then almost out of the blue a new prime suspect crops up - a black petty criminal from Africa who had a grudge against the holiday resort the McCanns were staying, because he was sacked a year earlier, so he kidnapped Madeline McCann to get revenge on his former employer... but a further twist the guy died 4 years ago in an accident.
Meanwhile the McCanns are suing the Portuguese Detective who was in charge of the case, and the Detective suspected the parents so that the Portuguese did not give up the search for Madeleine...
Is it just me or does the McCann case operate in a different reality ? a parallel universe, where logic... well there is no logic ?

11 AnswersCurrent Events8 years agoLooking Camp/Carp Bed for Ample Lady with a Sensitive Back?
We are currently searching like crazy to find a Camp / Carp bed that can take a good 20 stone plus lady with a sensitive back. So must be or raised to at least 40cm off the ground.
Does anyone know where I can get such a Camp / Carp bed in the UK, and if so what model or company range would suffice ?
3 AnswersSingles & Dating8 years agoMcCanns: Crimewatch Special - were these the facts ?
We watched the McCanns Crimewatch Special tonight having been lead by both the Detective and the Presenters that what we were about to see would cast aside supposition and only deal with the facts. Then what we get presented is supposition, supposition and more supposition. The only FACT we get is that Jane Tanners 'Egg Head' sighting, far from being laughable, actually turns out to be a real person taking his child home from the camp creche.
Based on this Crimewatch 'breakthrough' with more Efits, are we any nearer to finding Madeleine McCann ?

18 AnswersCurrent Events8 years agoMcCanns: is there a breakthrough likely with a new UK Police Efit of the suspect?
We read that just as Kate and Gerry McCann are on the verge of a financial breakthrough in their litigation against Portuguese former detective Goncalo Amaral; likewise there may be a breakthrough in the hunt for missing Madeleine McCann.
A Crimewatch special is to be shown on Monday night including Efits of a suspect the UK Police want to help them with their enquires.
Could this at last be a breakthrough in finding what happened to Madeline McCann ? and will this new approach from the UK Police and Crimewatch in anyway aid Kate and Gerry to secure their legal action against Mr Amaral in Portugal ?

7 AnswersCurrent Events8 years agoMcCanns: going back to Portugal ?
When I first saw a newspaper billboard during the week stating Kate McCann flies back to Portugal, I was under the impression that perhaps there had been some dramatic developement in the search for Madeleine. On further reading however it appears that the only reason for Mrs McCann to venture back to Portugial was for a court appearance in their legal action against Ex-Detective Goncalo Amaral.
Has it really come to this, where the search for a missing child is no more, and all that now matters is reputations and money ?

3 AnswersCurrent Events8 years agoNigel Farage and George Galloway: two cheeks of the same A*se ?
In the aftermath of exchanges of Nigel Farages visit to Scotland, veteran individualist politician George Galloway is quoted as saying "I hold no candle for Nigel Farage but if leaders of democratic parties with substantial support are to be driven out of Scotland under police protection, it's not going to be much of an advertisement for visitors and investors.". There is no doubt both Farage and Galloway have rocked the establishment over recent years, although they are on opposite spectrum's politically - but in rocking the boat are they two cheeks of the same A*se ?

As we know, Nigel Farage took his UKip bandwagon to Scotland this week to protest from the Scots Nats and others. But as the dust settles, who has come off best from the exchanges ?
9 AnswersCurrent Events8 years agoMcCanns: back in the news, but are there any more clues ?
We read that Scotland Yard has identified several people who may be "of interest" in the case of missing Madeleine McCann. But with the passage of time, and the Portuguese continuing to insist that the case files are closed, is there any genuine hope of UK Police making progress in the case ?

15 AnswersCurrent Events8 years agoAre you sick of the begging guilt trip charity ads flooding our TV screens ?
Even before the last Turkey was stuffed our TV ads have been almost flooded with those guilt trip charity adds for the starving, the homeless, the cancer victims, the donkeys, the abused etc that needs our just £1, £2 or £3 a week/month to survive.
Is it a time of great giving among a world of Scrooges or is this sickening exploitation of our conscience at a time of great joy - bah humbug ?

We read that the Antartica present given by the UK Government to the Queen to mark her 100 year reign is being claimed by Argentina.
Was this just an oversight, or is the UK Government still trying to 'stick one up the Argies' ? (circa 1982)

12 AnswersCurrent Events8 years agoMcCanns: Madeleine is still missing ?
With the Mayan world not coming to an end yesterday, we can look forward to a wet and dull Christmas. But we should not forget that 6 years on, Madeleine McCann is still missing and the search still goes on.
We read Kate McCanns Christmas statement "It is both heart-warming and reassuring to know that after all this time Madeleine still remains in so many people’s hearts and minds. This solidarity and commitment gives us great hope"
But we have to ask, will Madeleine ever now be found ? we hope, we pray, but its now been a long time.

10 AnswersCurrent Events8 years agoWhat has upset you most about 2012 ?
With the world not ending and all, its surely time to reflect what has annoyed you most about 2012. Was it handing out your hard earned cash to a 'dole scrounger' forced to stack shelves in the local supermarket OR the realisation that the average 'dole scrounger' pays more Tax (VAT, fuel duty, alcohol duty, gambling tax etc) than the average £ multi million profit corporate shopping.com or coffee bar ?

We read that according to the US Defence Department, the Americans have reached a point where the the end of the 'War on Terruh' (as declared by George Bush Jnr) is in sight. But have the Americans really 'won' the 'war on Terruh' or have they just got bored with it, as they did with the 'War on Commies' ?

16 AnswersCurrent Events8 years agoMcCanns: why does Gerry McCann seem at odds with David Cameron over the Leveson Inquiry's recommendations?
We read that Gerry McCann seems to support the full implementation of the Leveson Inquiry's recommendations, while on the other hand David Cameron seems to be championing 'Freedom of the Press'. Should we trust Leveson recomendations, backed by Gerry McCann and others or trust Camerons caution that we could be stifling the British free press if the recommendations are passed into law ?

The nearest the British have come to Police Commisioners is the one in Batman on the TV, Gordon of course the butt of many a Robin quip. However, this November the Brits will be able to vote in their very own Police Commisioners... except if polls are anything to go by only 1 in 6 will even bother.

7 AnswersCurrent Events9 years agoWhy do we drink 'Peckham Spring' bottled water from ASDA and Tesco ?
How we laughed back at Christmas1992 when Del Boy Trotter (only Fools and Horses) was bottling tap water and selling it as 'Peckham Spring' ! what a money making scam typical of the Trotter family (to buy their council flat)... move on to 20 years later and we find that Del's idea has caught on big time, not with some shadey outfit from the back streets of Southwark, but two of the Nations biggest supermarket giants ASDA and Tesco.
Are we just mugs for buying the stuff ? was Del Boy Trotter a visionary of scams to come ?
