2 AnswersAbuse and Spam7 years agoWho do I ask about sharing my time?
I am a Senior in decent health. I am hoping to sell my home soon and become debt free. It is my intent to take a World Cruise on a Merchant Ship to a variety of Ports. I am searching for a place to spend my Golden years. I would like to have a Sponsor/Interested Party to film and document this adventure. It would be another reality show of sorts, one of those travel shows focused on a long journey without the lavish luxuries of a traditional cruise ship. Visiting isolated Ports and others. Do you think there would be any interest in using my time to share the adventure?
1 AnswerSenior Citizens8 years agoHow risky is a LEASE TO OWN option on a home for sale?
My home is for sale and I want to sell and relocate 'yesterday'. I received an email from a craigslist reader with a question. Would I consider a lease to own? I told them it would depend on the terms. I have friends who got burned with a contract like that. These are my terms. (if it happens)
12 month contract. one third down. one third in 6 months and a final payment of the balance in 12 months. If buyer changes mind he forfeits all monies paid toward purchase, vacates property in 30 days and leaves property in the same condition as received. Buyer will receive a 10% refund of monies paid if property passes inspection. Property is bought as is and seller will provide 1 year of homeowners repair service. (in case the furnace goes out or something) I have no experience with a contract like this. I want as much protection as I can get from a buyer who may decide this is not what they want after 6 months. Friends of mine had to give back the money paid and they had an added expense of putting the property back together again from people who treated it as their own and left it that way. I don't want that stress. I'm 66, I want to sell and go to Mexico. NO COME BACK What do the readers say?
5 AnswersRenting & Real Estate8 years agoHOW did Syria dispense the chemical/gas?
I've heard it was done, I have not heard how they were able to 'gas' these people. I have not heard if this was an attack or a test. I have not heard any outrage from the Arab world. I have not heard any reprisals from the Arab continent. I have not heard any outrage against the teachings of Mohamed. The Koran does not teach killing. These citizens of Syria killed other citizens of Syria and no one wants to take the credit and so far it seems to be OK for the rest of the world to know what's been done to the innocent and do nothing for their justice. These Syrian citizens had done to them. the same as the Jews had done to them. They have been sacrificed for the cause. The US is being drawn into another country's business because of the humanitarian treaty we honor. We need to shun Syria. That course of action would do more good and prevent bloodshed. The world should shun Syria. Look at our streets now, overflowing with protesters. We are looking more like the Middle East crises on our own streets. WE do not need to retaliate with war machines. SHUN instead.
3 AnswersMilitary8 years agoWhy have American companies extended jobs to other countries?
American Companies have developed new jobs in various countries around the world. Is this because they are greedy and want more profit for their owners? Is this because they don't want to pay a minimum wage to fellow Americans and help shore up the economy? Is this because they believe the tax burden is more than they should contribute? Is this because they believe the regulations are to stringent for them to progress. Example; General Mills. Here is a company you can call and talk to someone in a far away country about a problem you have had here at home. General Mills has developed call centers not located in the United States. Why? American Companies in my opinion have an obligation to their country and fellow man when it comes to products and jobs. I think all companies who have deprived their American customers of American jobs in America should be boycotted until those jobs are brought back home. It is unpatriotic to provide jobs in other countries when the lack of jobs is destroying our economy. American Companies who have call centers, factories and hand crafters in other countries should not be allowed to sell or use their products here. American Companies should never delete an American job at home while creating its replacement in a under developed country where taxes, labor and regulations are all less. Is this why our jobless rate is so high? We as a Government have allowed our Companies too much freedom? They can close down jobs here and re open elsewhere with profit the main goal! Medicare HMO's have call centers in foreign lands. Why can't the American people staff call centers at minimum wage? Why do companies care more about profit than what they can do for their country? American Companies who have outsourced jobs to foreign lands should have to pay a penalty for greed. American Companies should keep their jobs and employees at home in the USA
2 AnswersGovernment & Non-Profit9 years agoWhere are the best places to secure a Grant from.?
I recently had two grown grand kids come to stay with me while they figure out what to do with them self. I took them to the local college to sign up. I want them to apply for thousands and thousands of dollars in Grants. I will not allow them to take out loans. The one has qualified for a Pell Grant already and this is inspiring her to find other Grants. I want them to get most of the money from private Grant benefactors. Can you provide a list of names and addresses or a link to find these institutions, foundations and companies? All suggestions appreciated.

3 AnswersImmigration9 years agoWhen were Borders put in place to separate our country from the rest of the connecting land?
At one time this was one large land mass. When did we create and enforce the Borders with Mexico and Canada? 'Connecting land.' The illegal aliens seem to be a hot topic with this presidential election. When did the USA decide the Mexicans and Canadians needed to stay in their own country unless they were granted permission to come here and make a new home for themselves and vice versa. Why do we need borders? If you come here to make a new home you should come with a pocket full of money to take care of your needs until you get a job or go back home. There absolutely should be NO government handouts to any foreigner who has come here to seek freedom. No food stamps, welfare or health care to non citizens and only for a limited amount of time to our own citizens who are in temporary need of assistance. This would end the Border problems; if anyone could come on their own, at any time, as long as they have the means to support them self and their family, they should be able to enter the USA when they want. This would drastically reduce the Food Stamp, WIC, Welfare, Medicaid and who knows what the Asians and Arabs receive in benefits when they locate here. The USA should be more like most other countries, non citizens have less assistance. Some countries, a born national is the only one who can own land in their homeland. I (a US Citizen) can not own real estate in Bahrain.
No Entitlement programs for non citizens.
So, when did we decide to close the borders and create illegal aliens who are not allowed to come here and live and work as a non citizens.
4 AnswersImmigration9 years agoHow do you create an organization for a select group of people?
These people are very unique, one of a kind. They have a common membership through their birth date. This organization would be for service. Public service. The organization would be self supporting and self sustaining by it's members for it's members. I hope they will register and meet with other members in St. Louis, MO in the near future. I hope there is enough participation by the members to become a driving force for many causes and issues. I am guessing there will be great variety in the membership. Where would you start looking for your members?

I am in St. Louis, if there is a Patent Attorney who will deal with me honestly, please tell me what it will cost to patent 4 words and variations thereof. I need to do this immediately. For my protection. Is Legalzoom a help or hindrance? I will max out my CC when I pay them their fee.
7 AnswersSt. Louis9 years agoIf you have decided to vote for Romney, WHY?
What makes one think Romney will be the best man for the People and Country? Forget that he is a Republican and a Mormon. Romney the business man.....convince me he is the best choice. Do not make comparisons regarding Obama, there are none. Obama inherited a big mess left behind by a Republican Administration. Obama has done what he has based on the needs of the People and the Country. What can Romney do to clean up an even bigger mess that has occurred as a result of both Administrations. Republicans are not People persons and never have been. They would eliminate Medicare and Welfare if they could. Republicans would permit euthanizations of the old and poor if they could get by with it. Convince me.

1 AnswerLaw & Ethics9 years agowhere are the like-minded visionaries?
There are many people out there who are investors. I have a project that needs financial supporters. It is my vision for my neighborhood to self improve with a hand up. I want to gain control of a building and re work it into a user friendly indoor retail shopping mall. The building is currently available for lease or sale. It is perfect. It will bring small business and jobs into a community that had those services stolen from them back in the 70's with a promise to those that survived, the takeover ; of a restoration that would come. The future is here but there has been no restoration of our stores and jobs........ ONLY a REDEVELOPMENT of store fronts converted into liquor licenses and food has been established and advertised as the newest Entertainment District in St. Louis. People live here and should have the convenience of shopping in the neighborhood. Eco friendlier. You won't have to get in your car and drive miles from home to buy something. It is time to begin a grass roots movement to bring businesses and jobs to a community that is on point for a redeeming future. Investors I need you to take the leap and see the same vision as I do. Please contact, I need someone to draw up plans. Meet me at the building and hear my proposal and see my vision. I await replies.

What kind of climbing vine would you recommend to plant next to a 7 foot chain link fence that would require a shallow root system. Roses? Ivy? Honeysuckle? The location gets full sun. St. Louis, MO We have 4 seasons. I'd like something that will one day serve as a privacy fence. Fast growing would be a bonus.

4 AnswersLaw & Ethics9 years agoWhere are the Baby boomers ready to retire and open their own business?
The economy needs you and so does our big city neighborhood. I live in St. Louis, MO, Forest Park South East Neighborhood. Our community is undergoing a renovation and has been for the last 10+years. Our neighborhood is assuming a new identity, The Grove. Our City Leaders are hailing the success of the development as the newest Entertainment District to evolve for the Alternate Lifestyle Community so they will have 'a place to call their own', says the Alderman. What about the 2000+ residents who already 'have this place to call their own'? Back in the 70's before City politics brought the Blight to the 17TH Ward, The Grove boasted 116 active businesses. The City, the Universities, and Barnes Hospital began to look into the future. What they saw was the development of the Central Corridor (Wash U at the rear and the Arch at the head) with the Central West End and Grand Center to be Crown Jewels for pedestrian traffic . Money poured in from an abundance of sources. Very little money crossed the bridge into our neighborhood and what did was not for commercial development. The Blight was responsible for our businesses to close and the buildings to be abandoned. Over time, our only alternative was to leave the neighborhood for the basic needs. For 20 years we've been forced to go elsewhere and spend our money. Now come the developers and their liquor licenses. We have 13 in a four block stretch, some serve food. There are some store fronts left to be occupied by businesses that are here to serve the residents and all visitors. Our neighborhood needs new businesses to locate here and restore our shopping district to the way it was. Businesses will flourish because the residents won't have to get in their car and go elsewhere. Everything they have to leave for will be here. We need an independent pharmacy, grocery store, laundromat, 24 hour restaurant, pet groomer/supplies, appliance/furniture store, electronics, jewelry, cleaners, bakery and boutiques. Everything and anything. There are limitations on kinds of businesses and sizes of property available. Three of the 5 store fronts unoccupied at the moment have had bars installed with the intention of receiving more liquor licenses as they extend the Entertainment District. The Residents are entitled to have their Shopping District restored and once again become the pedestrian neighborhood it was. We had no crime. People lived and worked in their neighborhood and this increased foot traffic and crime was a non issue. We are a Historical Neighborhood as well. If people who have the money to come here and buy or lease property and open a business for the residents they will be on a ground floor opportunity as the residents increase in number due to the services offered in a neighborhood that is going green by having shopping and entertainment within walking distance. The neighborhood as a whole is making a recovery, one house at a time. Washington University has a substantial vested interest in the community as does several developers. The developers, but one, have their interest in alcohol and food. There is one who perfers retail space and has been successful in placing tenants in his properties. If you or someone you know has the money to open a retail business here, you will be rewarded with long term success. Please come and drive through what once was a thriving small business community and see if you would like to live here and/or open a business here. Now is the time. Maybe you have enough money to buy some of the 'trash' buildings that are still standing and give them a makeover. You would not regret your decision to come. Manchester between Kingshighway and Sarah, between I-44 and I-64, great location. Our neighborhood was left to die since the 70's and we have the scars to prove it. It's only right that our community is restored, not just redeveloped to serve liquor. Come quick, we only have a few spots left. Please help our community to become the best it can be for everyone, not just an entertainment district.
2 AnswersSmall Business9 years agoTell me about Medicare.?
I'm about to qualify for Medicare and I've been receiving all this literature from so many companies. I will be automatically enrolled in Medicare UNLESS I choose a HMO. I also have to choose a Part D plan if I decline a HMO. It's all very confusing. What is the best route to go. Deductibles, co-pays, donut holes, Medi gap, so forth and so on. At the present time I have no doctor and take no prescription drugs. I know in the future I will most likely need something at sometime. As it stands right now, the government will take $115 from my $650 Social Security check to pay the Medicare premium every month. Is it wiser to select a HMO, buy a Plan D and invest in a Medi gap policy? I'm really confused as to the best route to take since I don't use any medical services at this time. I don't want to get caught in a situation where I am taken to the hospital and come out owing thousands of dollars for care. If I have to pay for Medicare, I want it all. Would someone be so kind as to educate me through their experience and advice? Thanks

It's been proven to have deadly consequences and there are laws against consumption. DWI and DUI. Why can something that will kill you and others be so cheap to purchase and be so readily available.......legally? Just curious.
