  • Obama sued?

Did you know that Obama sued to win his first election?

    "Barack Obama and Me":

    http://www.houstonpress.com/2008-02-28/n...

"He was just 35 when in 1996 he won his first bid for political office. Even many of his staunchest supporters, such as Black, still resent the strong-arm tactics Obama employed to win his seat in the Illinois Legislature. Obama hired fellow Harvard Law alum and election law expert Thomas Johnson to challenge the nominating petitions of four other candidates, including the popular incumbent, Alice Palmer, a liberal activist who had held the seat for several years, according to an April 2007 Chicago Tribune report."

How is this a different kind of politics? His opponents did not know that Obama was going to legally challenge every signature on their petitions to get on the ballot. If they had known they could have easily gotten more signatures. Seems pretty underhanded to me. I would love to hear other thoughts and perspectives.

  • Obama Related/Why did Oprah leave Reverand Wright's church?

I am curious to know if anyone has information about this? Did she find the sermons too hate-filled? Or was it some other reason?

Does anyone know of any articles on this? I heard that Oprah attended Trinity on some of the cable news channels, and they said that Oprah declined to comment on why she left the church.

  • What do voters think?

Juan Williams (who is African American) of National Public Radio says that Obama is going to be in big trouble if he doesn't act quickly. Being a part of a church with "black angry nationalistic rhetoric" is not going to look good with voters. Williams says that Obama needs to leave the church and repudiate it. He also says that mainstream media is giving Obama a pass when they shouldn't.
